Its getting close to one of my FAVORITE holidays of the year.

Sadly, I have no idea how to make it work. though my personal gifts for my beloved and wee ones are small in size, they are no so in pocket.

Any ideas to help make some money so i may give gifts to my little ones?

Sell some unwanted stuff on eBay. That's what I'm going to be doing, I've gone through all my clothes and found a whole bunch of stuff thats in good condition that I'm NEVER going to be able to fit in to again! Some of it has never been worn!

That is something i have thought of, ie: selling home made scarfs and stuff since most of my clothes are few and far between.

Thank you.

You can have a yard sale, or try to get a craft sale together with some friends..

You might also want to consider dollar stores, and depending on your income and age of the children, you can sign up for a gift basket from some of your local agencies. I don't know where you are, but the Salvation Army in Canada does not ask about religious affiliation on their application, they help anyone. Sometimes Social Services does it too. Look into 'Secret Santa" programs in your area.

If your kids are older, maybe you could explain things to them and ask them to pick just one thing.. My baby is 13 and my oldest is 17.. they understand that they can't have laptops and MP3 players..

If you have skills you could try to sell them, I am a costume designer and I do things in my spare time for pay.

Good Luck!

ya there are lots of alternatives that are easier on your bank book, especially if your children are smaller.

Thank you all

though, my bank account says I own 24 cents in my name. gonk

My wee one is almost 3 months and my oldest is 2 1/2. So, its kinda hard to tell them that I can't provide something for Yule.

if your children are that young you can focus on DOING things on yule, like crafts and spending time together instead of buying things.

I prefere to not encouraage my daughter to think Yule is about gifts, she gets a couple of gifts, mostly from other people. She is 3 and she only gets like 5 gifts, max, from me but we spend a lot of time together for and before yule making crafts, and cooking together and singing and dancing together. This years yule will probably only invole one gift from me, and one again on christmas with my parents, cause our money is going towards moving instead.
