Ashtad, the angel of justice, was in a rather foul sort of mood... not that people weren't used to his bad moods by now and they usually just chalked it up to his job. Having to deal with the worst of the worst would get to anyone from time to time, and passed that he could sense every time one of his brethren fell in a manner that felt as though he was being ran through with a blade. Those he knew more closely were those he could feel it from more intensely like when Almas had fallen. He'd been around him before it happened, dealing with him, and attempting to cleanse him of demonic corruption without success. This time around it had struck him when Hyacinth fell, to have an angel of that sect fall was a rather strange occurrence... one he didn't like in the least and didn't want to think on.
Instead he'd thrown himself, and many of those unfortunate enough to be around him, into an impromptu lesson on battle... including one very unfortunate angel who just happened to be of the same sect as Hyacinth which only made Ashtad harder on him, not letting up, forcing him to learn with the others but seemed to be paying him more attention then the rest. It was the fact that another patience angel was there when he was trying to work off the frustration of another's fall that the poor guy got his attention.
The angel dubbed Pagiel was trying his best to keep up with Ashtad in the sudden increase in activity in combat. He didn't enjoy it, but he had to stick through it, besides Ashtad seemed to need to let off some steam. When they finally took a break he walked up to the other angel a soft smile on his face. His one eye was shut due to a long scar that run along the length of the lid. A unfortunate incident that had occurred on his first trip to the mortal realm. He hadn't been back there since, not that he was scared..he had already forgiven the one who had given him this but others seemed to be worried about his welfare.
"Is everything alright Ashtad?" he asked in a soft voice.
The angel gave a shake of his head, "Nothing... nothing is alright!" He said, sounding frustrated as he lunged forward, his own weapon, just a pratice one and for the most part harmless collided with that of Pagiel. He wondered if his anger stemmed from an inability to do anything... and from his anger at himself for what he'd foolishly done a while back to finish what had been started in the cutting of a traitor's wings. His desire to do well and succeed at his job bordered at times on dangerous from what he'd been told by those nearest to him. The idea that he might one day become a demon of Pride was frightening but until that time came he meant to deal with the enemies of the realm to the best of his ability, "It won't be alright either, not when another of our brother's, one who went missing some time ago, has fallen."
The angel gave a grunt as he was hit with the training weapon, hardly bothering to raise his own in defense. He felt bad for Ashtad, he knew he was only trying to do his best and protect everyone.
He rubbed the new sore spot and gave the other a sympathetic look.
"It hurts you a lot when our brothers fall..." He murmured wondering if he should try and give the other a hug. He looked as if he could use one. Shifting his rather abnormal wings fluttered a bit revealing the dazzling colors they contained. His long pointed ears and black hair seemed to make him seem more unangelic than ever.
Ashtad froze for a moment before moving again, "It hurts the same as being wounded, only its not a wound so easily healed. It cannot be seen by others, it does not bleed, but it hurt regardless." He murmured, "I feel at times as though I am not fit for my position." He confessed lifting his wooden sword up and brought it down against the one that Pagiel held. He was failing somehow if his brothers and sister were being taken away, tortured and experimented on in such ways that made them fall from grace. It must be a terrible thing... and the result of it, those hell cursed spawn... he'd seen some of them from a distance and a part of him wanted to cut them down where they stood for even daring to breath, abominations were what they were... but because they were also children and most of them innocent of any real crime other then being born he couldn't raise his weapons against them... even that one who shared blood with him, the most twisted among them and the one he most disliked as it was a living, breathing sign of his sinfulness showing through. That he would have given his blood to finish up a job... it was best that way, that one was never meant to have wings... traitor that he was.
"I need to get better, to do better, or I will need to step down to make way for someone who can better serve our brothers and sisters."
Pagiel only nodded his head listening to his brother of sorts wondering just how he could help him. He cared so much about everyone he was trying so hard...he didn't have a chance to react to the attack and he felt the weapon jar out of his hands and clatter to the ground and even slide a bit away from the sheer force of the hit. He blinked his good eyes and looked over to where it had landed.
"Ah I think you are doing a good job Ashtad, surely if it wasn't for you many more of our brothers and sisters would have fallen." He tried to encourage him as he turned to go after the weapon. It had slid further than he had realized and as he went to retrieve it he noticed it was slowly slipping away from him..like it was being pulled in a direction only it knew about. He watched it curiously and then realized the reason it was moving was because of the slight slope it was on. But...it shouldn't be moving that much should it.
"Hey...Ash..." he was about to call out when he stepped ahead of the weapon and his foot fell through the ground. Not just his foot but his entire body just slipped right through.
Ashtad's eyes went rather wide and he tossed his weapon aside, rushing forward to where Pagiel had vanished and a curse that wasn't often heard in this realm escaped his lips as he turned to another of the nearby angels, "Quickly, fetch the angels in charge of the barrier!" He snapped, he would go after Pagiel the moment they got here, for the moment though he couldn't leave, not when there was a hole like this in the barrier... not when something horrible could get in just as easily as the other angel had fallen out if this spot were found.
He had fallen so hard and so fast it didn't even occur to him to try and flap his wings. Suddenly the ground came up to meet up and then everything was black.

Who knew how much time had passed but when he woke up he noted he had a rather powerful headache. Sitting up he looked around himself, he recognized nothing...he looked down at himself...observing the scars and his current state of dress....who..who was he? He couldn't recall his name, or where he came from he went to stand but found himself a bit tottery since his body ached.
Almas was doing something that he hadn't done in ages, he was sitting on the steps just outside of the facility, leaning back against the door, and his eyes were closed as he drank in the sensation of the sun and wind. He felt... strange, as though he'd woken up from a long and terrible dream when Luthor had returned home and seemed slowly to be able to function once more. It was... it was a good feeling, a freeing sort of feeling, as though he could breath again. He knew it wouldn't be easy though, Luthor was still upset with him he could tell... and he knew the reason why and a part of him agreed with his son's objections. It was hard though to attempt to break his addiction, something he'd tried on several occasions to do and failed at just as many times.
The fallen saw something from the corner of his good eye and he was suddenly surging to his feet, half panicking thinking that they were under attack... nobody knew they were here, did they? He wasn't sure... he looked back and forth before he started forward. He had to see what was going on, if he were to flee he doubted that Vampy would be at all impressed at what would be yet another show of weakness from someone who had a long list of those.
Hs charge forward was interrupted as he found not something dangerous but something rather... beautiful laying there. He starred, his good eye widening before he started slowly forward as the other shifted, twitched and was suddenly rising to his feet, "Hey... are you alright...?" He asked, curious as to where he'd fallen from as there was nothing above them... curious as well as to what exactly he was. He looked somewhat like a fairy. Perhaps this was another creature like Faun? It was hard to tell. It would seem despite Vampy's attempts to hide the place all sorts of creatures were strange powers were innately drawn here.
Pagiel looked up but rather than be frightened by this new person he only smiled at him.
"I am not sure." He answered honestly as he went to lean against the nearest fixture he could find. "My head hurts...but I can't recall what happened. Do I know you?" he inquired sounding a bit hopeful this person who came to him was someone who may know him at least. his wings fluttered a bit revealing the pretty colors, his dark black hair also contained a rainbow of streaks...he seemed a bit of a strange sort to be considered an angel.
Almas stepped forward quickly, "Ahh, no... not exactly. I think you fell from somewhere but..." He looked up for a moment and saw nothing, how strange... wait... fell? And couldn't recall how? And didn't know who he was? His eyes took on a concerned look, "We should bring you to see Aden, hes a doctor and will be able to look you over. You could be hurt." He said, moving toward the rainbow colored creature and put an arm around his waist to help to brace him,
Pagiel only looked at Almas a faint blush creeping across his face. He gave him a bright smile, touched that the other was so concerned for his welfare.
"Wow your so nice. What's your name?" He inquired as Almas helped support him. Which was probbaly a good thing as he felt like the world tilted when he stood up.
"My name is Almas Gamaliel." He said, leading the way toward the door that moments ago he had been leaning against, "Can you recall what yours is?" He asked, sounding more then a little worried. If he didn't know who he was or where he was was bad enough but what if he didn't even know his own name? That would be cause for even more worry. He quickened his steps as much as he could without rushing his companion as he didn't want to risk making anything worse if he were injured.
He looked thoughtful for a couple of moments but he was drawing a blank for an answer to the question.
"Sorry I can't recall. I was hoping you would know me." He answered honestly though he seemed to be a bit too ...calm about it all. He noticed that Almas had lost the sight in one eye, he gave a sympathetic grin somehow knowing how it was to lose the sight of an eye...of course he could only see out of one eye as well.
"where are we going? Is this your place?" he inquired looking around.
"Then its best that we get you to Aden as quickly as wel can, you might really have hurt yourself." He murmured, feeling his worry level rise that much more. He reached out with one arm to catch hold of the door knob before turning it and pulling it open, "Ahh... my place?" He looked the other male over and felt a sort of bite of guilt, he needed medical attention but bringing something like this into the Labs... it was like putting raw meat in front of a hungry dog... he shook his head to shove the thoughts aside for now, "I live and work here, yes though its far from being my place." He said as he led the way into and along the path that led to the hospital ward.
He felt a surge of sympathy for the man helping him. He sounded so ...sad. And perhaps a bit bitter? He wasn't sure but he just wanted to give him a hug.
"Who is Aden?" He inquired next as he was in no condition to be giving out hugs. His long black hair seemed unable to get tangeled as they moved along at a brisk pace.
"Aden is a human doctor who works here as well, the head one after... ahh... after the other two retired." That was a nice way to put it he thought to himself, deciding there was no reason to scare the other with horror stories about the Labs, "He is a very kind man though if he hits on you just ignore it, he does that to everyone." He said, giving a shake of his head. He doubted there was anyone that had met him aside from the young spawn, that he hadn't flirted with at least a little bit, male female, human, demon, angel... the guy seemed to be either an opportunist or just that he was a horrible tease.
"He will hit me? I guess I can't be any more sore than I am now..." he mused sounding unconcerned if the man was going to beat on him or not. Human though nagged on his mind.
"He isn't like you?" he inquired in a poilte tone of voice.
Almas shook his head, "Oh, no! No, no. Aden doesn't hit people he hits on them... umm... its a term for flirting." He explained then blinked a couple times, "Ahh... I suppose now a days I am more like him then what I actually am... or at least was." He said, from an outside perspective he did look rather human didn't he? He had no wings, normal coloration, nothing super special about him really. So he was more like a human that he wanted to admit given his general dislike of most of the ones that worked here, "We are almost there now."
He only looked at the man a slightly confused look on his face though he only chuckled,
"There is something about you that...tugs on my brain...or lack of..." he giggled. "Not sure why but you feel familiar to me." He revealed and it was true he couldn't explain it but Almas reminded him of something or someone. But he couldn't figure out whom. "Am I human?" He inquired next.
Almas was more then a little curious as to how he felt familiar the other, "Is that so?" He murmured, finding himself wondering more and more exactly what this guy was, "I am not exactly sure what you are but I can say without a doubt that it isn't human. Your to... nice to be one of them." He couldn't sense aura's or intentions or magic anymore, not for a long time but something still told him that this guy wasn't a bad guy, he was something gentle and kind.
"Here we are." He said, knocking his hand against the open door before leading the way inside.
Aden rose to his feet, setting aside a chart he'd been skimming over when he heard the knock, "Well hello there, if it isn't Almas... and look at this, you brought a pretty new friend in to visit." He said, giving a nod of his head before he started forward noticing the scrapes and bruises on the form of the 'pretty one' and his expression went from flirty to serious, "Your looking a little worse for wear, come on. How about you come and sit down on one of these beds." He encouraged the rainbow winged male.

The angel took note that the male in the white coat did indeed look and feel different than the one helping him. He wondered why Almas had warned him about the other man cause he seemed to be very nice to him.
"Thank you. Are you Aden?" He inquired as he was led to a bed and went to sit on it. He allowed his wings to drape over the edge on the other side.
He looked around the area wondering why he got...such a sinking feeling about this place. He couldn't figure it though. Should he be worried?
"He had a bit of a fall, Aden... I am not exactly sure where he fell from but he landed really hard. He seems unable to remember anything." He said, sounding quite worried for the winged being. He was glad to see him sitting down as it meant he wouldn't be straining himself any longer.
The doctor gave a nod, moving over to look Pagiel over before his he reached into his pocket to get out his light, checking the angel's eyes first, he was pleased to see the pupil in one eye responded right though as he checked the other he found himself giving pause, "Ahh, your eye... its like that of Almas." He murmured, looking over at the blond. Well it would seem the pair had something in common.
The light was tucked away and he started to move his hands over Pagiel, checking now for broken bones, swollen spots, or anything else that might indicate serious injuries.
Pagiel blinked a couple of times with his good eye after the light was removed and he tilted his head a bit and nodded his head.
"Yes I cannot see out of it...I wish I could remember why..." He sighed and then smiled again anyway. He watched as Aden continued to check him over and the only thing that could be noticeable was the bruises he had taken from Ashtad's training that definitely didn't match fallen from a tree...or the sky. Plus a large swollen bump on his head.
"Its not a recent thing I can tell you that." He said, the wound near his eye was old, so it wasn't caused by his fall. He gave a nod after his inspection was complete, "One moment." He said, moving over to a large freezer and got out an ice pack. He shook it a couple times before returning to Pagiel's side, "Here, hold this to your head." He said as he held the ice pack to where he'd found the large lump, "You can hang out with me for a while, so I can keep an eye on you as we don't want you to pass out or risk a coma due to having a head injury. Are you going to stay with us Almas?"
The fallen angel checked the clock before giving a nod of his head, "Yeah, I don't have any work for a while now." He said, giving a bit of a smile, not only that but he wanted to keep an eye on the new comer, almost nervous about leaving him unguarded.
Pagiel felt something stir in his chest and he realized that he felt warm. He was happy that Almas and Aden were so kind, it touched him...he was a complete strange to them and yet they were so kind and generous. He held the cold bag to his head and had to admit it felt better.
"I don't know how to thank you both. Maybe once I remember things I can pay you both back." He offered with a beaming smile. He then shivered...though it wasn't due to the cold. He couldn't figure it ...why did he suddenly feel...fearful?
"Aden, Almas..." Came a silky voice from the door way, a silver hair gentleman was standing there his gold eyes glittering like a hungry cat as he spotted Pagiel. "I thought I sensed a new presence..."
Aden and Almas both jumped as though they were doing something wrong before turning to look over toward the door, "Hey there, Boss." Aden greeted the man, giving the smallest of salutes to Vampy.
Almas gave the smallest of winces, he couldn't say he was shocked, in fact he was surprised it took him this long in fact, "Hello Vampy." He murmured, then looked over at Pagiel who was what currently had the attention of the silver haired demon. He felt a little bad for the poor guy, he had no idea what was going on and now he had gained the attention of Vampy. He pushed away from them and started toward the man, "Ahh... if we could talk, Vampy?" He wanted to attempt to protect him in what way he could given his condition and his attitude which reminded him to much of a lost friend.
The angel looked to Vampy and felt like he was falling into the depths of his cold gold eyes. He shivered and wondered if it really was the man or the ice pack making him get chills. What a strange name though...Vampy?
Vampy looked the other angel over...the smile on his face was too hungry in appearance. He flickered his gaze to Almas a moment at the request.
"Well? Speak then.."
Almas was actually surprised he was willing to speak with him, that was perhaps a good sign though it was hard to tell since he looked to almost be drooling over the sight of the rainbow colored being, "Our new friend, he might need to stay here with Aden for a span of time." He explained, giving Pagiel a glance, "His injuries have resulted in amnesia, not to mention he needs to be watched over by the doctor due to his head injury." He explained, hoping to give the other more time before Vampy tried to drag him into one of his experiments.
Vampy looked Pagiel over. Damaged good huh? Well they could fix that. "Oh? well then we will have to make sure he is comfortable no? I believe Hya's old room would due." He started off before he took a step further into the room.
"You are quite colorful...and surely you realize you are not like the rest of us here.." HE started with a grin.
Pagiel jumped a bit as he was spoken to directly. He gave a shy smile, "Uh...t..thanks..but who is Hya? I'd hate to be taking his room if he is still using it.
Almas's eyes got a little wide, "Wait... Hyacinth's room?" He asked, head tilting to the side before looking at Pagiel again, then seemed a little confused. He couldn't be... no, no... he didn't look like any angel that Almas had ever seen before. The idea that he might be one, it almost made him feel guilty for leading him inside. Other beings like the Faun were used for only one experiment and that was it. Angels and demons though, they were kept aside from that spider one who Almas had been happy to see leave.
"You don't have to worry Hyacinth... he is... he is no longer with us." Almas murmured, still feeling the pain of his sudden disappearance as though that wound were fresh, to much had happened in short time to make it easy for him to get over it all so easily.
Pagiel looked over at Almas and then felt a deep pang of sadness, "Oh I am so sorry..." He murmured before he looked up to Vampy wondering what Almas could of meant by his earlier comment.
"Hmmmm..." Vampy started as he looked the other over before nodding his head, "He is...different...than others I have come across..but there is no mistaking that aura of his. We can have him tested if you really don't believe me.." He stated to Almas.
Pagiel only looked at him with one pale purple eye.
"Test me ...? For what? Am i sick?"
"No, no not sick... Its alright, you should just rest and don't worry." He said in an assuring manner, like a parent that didn't want to worry a child which was how he saw Pagiel at the moment since he was injured and seemed so helpless, "I will take your word on it, Vampy... either way he needs rest not to be poked and prodded at."
Aden looked between the three before he took a seat on the cot next to the one Pagiel sat on to keep an eye on the angel and to make himself smaller so that he wouldn't be noticed while the other two discussed the fate of the rainbow colored man.
Pagiel wondered what they were talking about but he continued to hold the ice to his head. His eye flicking between the two of them. They... weren't happy with each other... that much he could tell he had to wonder why.
"He should be tested to make sure...as well Aden if you could please be in charge of making sure our...new quest is well taken care of.." Came the mans velvety voice. "Almas I would appreciate if you don't bother our new quest too much...like you said he needs his rest.." Came the warning tone. Mostly translating into stay out of this.
Aden gave a nod, "Of course, I will keep an eye on him and make sure he's alright." He said, not wanting to say anything that might get anyone's wrath turned on him, especially that of the boss given all he'd heard about the guy and his temper. Last thing he wanted was to have a face to face meeting with that new demon he'd brought in.
Alam starred up at Vampy for a long moment then felt himself bristle in a manner that wasn't normal for him when it came to Vampy, "I will be keep an eye on him." He said, not about to leave this one unguarded in the same manner that Hyacinth had been.
Vampy raised an eyebrow at the sudden back bone Almas was showing. "Is that so?.." the smell of cinnamon seemed to gently waft into the room. "Well I don't want you to be bothering him, like you said he needs to rest.." He continued
"I don't mind if he watches me.." Piped up Pagiel as he felt the need to come to Almas's rescue... "I mean...I would like the company. He isn't a bother at all." He continued.
Almas felt himself wavering as he caught the scent of cinnamon. He froze in place, swallowing hard then shook his head, "I... just worry for him." He murmured, feeling a little strengthened as Pagiel said he didn't mind, "He doesn't mind and I am not going to stress him out, I just want to make sure he is kept safe."
Vampy cast a stern look to Almas as if trying to glare him into submission before he only smiled and nodded his head.
"....hmmm yes safe...I suppose you can then." He murmured as the scent seemed to fade away.
"Welcome to the facility...." He stopped himself, "Do you have a name?"
"Pagiel." The angel replied brightly and then he blinked as he realized he had remembered his name.
"Oh! I remembered my name." He stated brightly.
Almas felt as though he were going to collapse as the cinnamon scent receded and he gave a nod of his head in agreement, "T-Thank you." He murmured.
Almas and Aden both were looking at the rainbow angel when he stated his name and Aden smiled, "That is a good sign, it shows this is just a temporary thing. I bet things with start coming back to you in no time. Until then though you will need to continue to rest but stay awake. Until I know that your out of the danger zone, alright?"
Pagiel only nodded his head still pleased with having remembered his name. Besides the scary silver haired man this place wasn't so bad. But something nagged at the back of his head.
"Okay. Almas can you show me around?" He inquired with a smile.
"Just don't take him outside of the facility..." Came the warning tone from Vampy as he grinned like a cat that had eaten a canary and then moved to leave the room.
Pagiel blinked...."Is...it dangerous outside?"
Almas gave a sighing sound of relief and sat down behind Pagiel on the cot, one hand lifting up to rest against his chest as he caught his breath before glancing at Pagiel, "Ahh... it is dangerous everywhere these days, so its best if you stay near to me for now." He murmured, giving him the best smile that he could.
Aden looked the pair over before he pushed to his feet, "Alright, I am going to work on some stuff while you two watch after one another." He said with a smile, walking over to his desk. If it weren't for the fact that he had Pagiel to look after he might have followed after Vampy who he needed to talk with.
