The Gallow
After the brief intermission following the Samurai Army vs. Xtreme World Order match, the ring crew starts bringing out rolls of barbed wire to the ring, unrolling it and wrapping it around the ring ropes. Some more crew members climb up into the ring and start removing the turnbuckle pads one by one. A couple more crew members come out to the ring, carrying armfuls of flouresent light tubes, setting them down in a corner where the turnbuckle pads were already removed. Roselyn Peters rises from her chair that is sitting next to the timekeeper and raises her microphone up to her lips, signifying the beginning of the next match as the maximum capacity 600 fans cheer.
Roselyn: "The following match is a Gallows match. As you can see, all of the turnbuckle pads have been removed as a stipulation of this match. The same can be said for the barbed wire wrapped around the ring ropes. Each Gallow has a different theme to it, with the first being Flouresent Light Tubes. There will be no referees and the match will continue until either one competitor cannot compete or neither can compete, thus the match will be a draw. Now, here comes the first competitor in this match."
NOW IS THE TIME, FOR ME TO RISE TO MY FEET...WIPE YOUR SPIT FROM MY FACE, WIPE THESE TEARS FROM MY EYES!
The lights dim down, almost where nobody can see in front of them and strobe lights begin flashing on both sides of the entrance curtain as a figure in a heavy-looking trenchcoat walks out from behind the curtain as the strobe lights flash red, blue, white, green, and yellow. The lights stop and the camera focuses in on the figure, revealing him to be Bryan Kutterman. Kutterman is holding 2 light tubes, one in each hand and begins to walk down to the middle of the entrance ramp and stop, pulling off his trenchcoat and tossing it at the cameraman, right onto the camera. Billy Hopkins can be heard faintly saying something about moving the coat and then the cameraman turns to look at Kutterman, who has a smug look on his face. Kutterman then walks the rest of the way down to the ring and sets his light tubes down on the ring apron and rolls into the ring, underneath the bottom rope, not caring about the several scratches he just got on his back from the barbed wire. "I Will Be Heard" fades away and the crowd is covered in silence.
Then, out of nowhere, a hard guitar solo begins playing over the speakers as all of the lights begin to glow dark red. Some light chanting begins playing along with the song and it stops, only to be replaced with lyrics.
There's a flame that leads our souls astray. No one's safe from it's tender touch of pain. And every day it's looking for new slaves. To celebrate to beauty of the grave.
As these lyrics are sung, a man walks out onto the entrance ramp with a black robe over his body with a hood covering his head, with two light tubes in his hands. The crowd recognizes the song as Darkfyre entrance music, but Darkfyre is nowhere to be seen. The man walks down to the ring, ignoring everyone and everything on his way down. As he reaches the ring, he turns towards the steps that lead up into the ring and he sets his two light tubes down, leaning up against the steps. He takes a step back and grabs a handful of his robe and flings it off, revealing himself to be none other than Darkfyre! The crowd cheers for Darkfyre as he walks over to Roselyn Peters and asks her to borrow her microphone.
Darkfyre: "Hello Durem, it's great to be back here in the GWA. It looks like I wasn't gone as long as I expected to be, but I'm back now and I'm ready to do some wrestling. I won't take up your time like some certain big-nosed "superstars" might like to, so I'll just get right into the match."
Most of the crowd laughs at Darkfyre's Triple H comment, while some others didn't only because they didn't get it. Darkfyre hands Roselyn her microphone back and walks back over to the steps where he left his light tubes. Darkfyre grabs his light tubes and rolls them into the ring as he ascends the steps and climbs the un-padded turnbuckle, crossing his arms into an "X" as he reaches the top. Instead of the usual red streamers that accompany the ring as Darkfyre makes his entrance, the fans just cheer, showing their respect for the returning Darkfyre. Kutterman on the other hand, is getting iritated that Darkfyre is doing more showboating than fighting and begins to tap his foot, being impatient. Darkfyre leans down and picks his light tubes and nods to the timekeeper to ring the bell.
DING! DING!! DING!!!
The match is finally underway and Kutterman immeditately charges at Darkfyre and swings his light tube in his left hand. Darkfyre ducks out of the way and Kutterman narrowly misses Darkfyre's head with the tube. Kutterman turns around and looks at Darkfyre who is looking around, not knowing what to do. Kutterman looks at the slightly taller Darkfyre and then gets a huge evil grin come across his face. Darkfyre looks at Kutterman and gulps, not knowing what he's got planned now. Kutterman quickly steps forward and swings a light tube at Darkfyre's side, but Darkfyre dodges, but Kutterman is ready and swings the other one, hitting Darkfyre right in the head! Darkfyre drops to the mat and clutches his head in pain. Once the pain stops slightly, Darkfyre removes his hand from the spot where Kutterman hit him and checks for blood, and doesn't see anything. Kutterman is standing over Darkfyre with the same smug look on his face before the attack and then brings the other light tube over his head and then brings it right back down across the top of Darkfyre's head. Darkfyre falls backwards onto his back on the mat, staring blankly up at the ceiling as Kutterman rolls out of the ring and starts searching underneath the ring for something. After about a minute, he's still searching and Darkfyre is moving around, up on his knees, shaking out the cobwebs and looking around for Kutterman. After a moment of looking, Darkfyre sees the top of Kutterman's head outside of the ring and glances from side to side, thinking about doing something. Kutterman finally pulls out a table and sets it down, reaching under the ring again and pulling out a black bag bulging with something. Kutterman tosses the bag into the ring over his shoulder and leans down to pick up the table and then turns to face the ring only to get the table smacked into his nose by Darkfyre with an ELBOW TOPȠSUICIDA!
The crowd gives a huge pop for this rare move from Darkfyre as they carefully watch the two competitors to see if they're going to move. Darkfyre is the first to move, quickly rolling up to his feet, watching Kutterman to see if he's moving. Kutterman pushes the table off of him and looks around with a glazed overlook in his eyes. Darkfyre leans down, grabbing a handful of Kutterman's hair and pulling him up to his feet. Darkfyre grabs Kutterman's arm and twists it around into an Arm Wrench and then rolls him into the ring, not being careful to watch out for the barbed wire. Kutterman scrapes his back across the barbed wire as he gets rolled into the ring and Darkfyre slides in after him. Kutterman is on his hands and knees and Darkfyre is on his feet, waiting for Kutterman to get to his knees. Darkfyre stands still, right in front of Kutterman, until Kutterman pushes himself up to his knees only. Darkfyre steps forward and Kutterman pushes him away. Darkfyre steps forward again and holds out his hand, offering to help Kutterman up to his feet. Kutterman extends his hand and almost grabs Darkfyre's, but Darkfyre reaches up and pokes Kutterman in both of his eyes. Kutterman grabs his face and shields his eyes from Darkfyre and leans back down to the mat with his hand over his face. Darkfyre walks over to the turnbuckle and grabs some light tubes and sets them down in front of Kutterman's face. Kutterman is still covering his face with his hands as Darkfyre walks around him to face his back. Kutterman uncovers his face and blinks out the pain as Darkfyre runs forward and jumps onto Kutterman's back, smashing his face down into the light tubes with an Inverted Bronco Buster! The crowd gasps and cheers for this innovative manuever as Kutterman lifts his head up off of the mat and sees some red dripping from his forehead. Darkfyre gets back up to his feet and then rolls out of the ring, grabbing the table sitting beside the ring and sliding it into the ring and rolling back in after it. Kutterman is getting back up to his hands and knees as Darkfyre stands up and grabs the table, picking it up and setting it on its side, pulling out one of the sets of legs and setting it up against the barbed wire ropes.
But what Darkfyre doesn't see is Kutterman standing up on his feet behind him. Kutterman cracks his knuckles and his neck and then rushes at Darkfyre, grabbing his head and putting it through the table with a Running Bulldog! Kutterman lands in a sitting position next to the busted table and then stands back up, showing several scratches on his legs from the barbed wire. Darkfyre, on the other hand, rolls over to his back with a slight spot of blood coming from the side of his mouth. Kutterman grabs Darkfyre's ankle and drags him to the center of the ring and then pulls him up to his feet by a handful of hair and grabs his wrist, whipping him headfirst into the turnbuckle! Darkfyre crumples up against the bottom turnbuckle and Kutterman comes up behind him and put his boot against the back of Darkfyre's head and puts all of his weight onto that one foot, crushing Darkfyre's head into the uncovered turnbuckle. After about 30 seconds of this, Kutterman gets bored and steps down off of Darkfyre and grabs the back of his pants, pulling him up to his feet again and grabs him in a waistlock and picks him up and then falls to his back, dropping Darkfyre down with a FLAPJACK ACROSS THE BARBED WIRE ROPES! Darkfyre bounces off the ropes after getting his throat crushed into the top rope and lands on his back with blood coming out of his neck, mouth, forehead, and nose. Kutterman looks at Darkfyre with a manic gleam in his eyes and walks over to one of the corners and grabs two light tubes and sets them down in the middle of the ring. Kutterman then walks back over to Darkfyre and pulls him to his feet for a third time and pulls him towards the middle of the ring. Kutterman sidesteps behind Darkfyre, wraps an arm behind his head, and then sweeps his right leg out from under him and puts him backfirst into the mat with a Russian Leg Sweep INTO THE LIGHT TUBES! Darkfyre lets out a short gasp of pain as his eyes bulge open before he falls backwards onto his back, writhing in pain. Kutterman sits back up from the mat and looks over at the corner with an evil look on his face and a crazy glint in his eyes. He rolls out of the ring and reaches under the ring and grabs another table, sliding it into the ring and rolling in after it.
Kutterman grabs the table and sets it up on all four legs and then grabs the black bag that he threw into the ring earlier and opens it, dumping it all over the table, revealing it to be THUMBTACKS! Some of the women in the crowd scream at the sight of the thumbtacks, but Kutterman isn't done as he walks over to some more of the light tubes, picking them up and setting them down on the table. Kutterman then walks over to Darkfyre and picks him up again and pulls him into a Standing Headscissors and hooks his arms in a Double Chickenwing before pulling Darkfyre up onto his shoulders while spinning a hard 180 degree turn before turning another 180 and PUTTING DARKFYRE THROUGH THE TABLE COVERED IN THUMBTACKS AND LIGHT TUBES WITH THE B.K.B!!! Darkfyre rolls around on the mat, screaming in pain with thumbtacks and broken light tube pieces stuck in his back as Kutterman stands where he is after dumping Darkfyre onto that table, laughing maniacally.

Prime Time Title Match: Roy Chambers vs Steve Twist
Roselyn Peters: "The following contest is scheduled for one fall with a 60 minute time limit and is for the GWA Prime Time Championship!"
"Introducing first, the challenger, from Muskegon Michigan, weighing in at 233 pounds and standing 6 feet 2 inches tall, he is 'The White Phoenix', STEVE 'SAVIOR' TWIST!"
One hundred million souls Are joined together All hoping for something better And daring to ask the question "What is all this worth?" Because the answers Have all lost their meaning They got us all believing We really have a future And who will get their first?
|As "Knocked Down" by Pennywise continues to blare across the arena's sound system Steve steps out from the back to a crowd comprised mostly of cheers. Whether or not these are solely because of Steve, or partially because of who his opponent is doesn't seem to matter to "The White Phoenix" as he pauses on the top of the entrance ramp, his hood still over his head.|
Knocked down! Stumble then you fall Stay down! Find some use for it all No way! Walk before you crawl When will you fall?
|Cheering and the chorus of this song playing seem to get Steve hyped up and he throws his head back to remove his hood while throwing his arms out to the side in a crucifix position at the same time. Steve doesn't hold this position very long, just long enough for those with cameras to get photos, before he begins to head down the entrance ramp towards the ring.|

|Upon making it to the bottom of the entrance ramp Steve looks around at the crowd once more to encourage more cheers. This works well as usual and he then climbs up the ring steps, only to walk along the ring apron facing the crowd as he exits from them. Steve yells something to the crowd to get them hyped up from here before turning around and using the top rope to jump into the ring.|

|With the fading out of "Knocked Down" Steve takes his vest off and hands it to the official before doing any last minute stretching or preparations on his own in the corner as he awaits the opening bell.|
"And his opponent, from the Isle de Gambino, weighing in at 229 pounds and standing 6 feet tall, he is your current reigning and defending GWA Prime Time Champion, 'The Heartbreaker' ROY CHAMBERS!"
The lights go out and the arena is completely dark. The Barton Town fans give a pop that hardly competes with the booing from the Gambino fans, and is completely overpowered when the guitar introduction of Jimmy Page chimes in. When the percussion joins in a spotlight falls on the stage, revealing a new curtain that proudly displays Roy Chamber's Heartbreak Emblem. The emblem consists of two halves of a broken heart, a large golden H Is imposed over the left half, and a large golden B is imposed on the right half, wit the letters C-H-A-M-B-E-R-S running down the rift between the halves. The curtain is disrupted by The Prime Time Champion himself bursting through a slash in the middle, and thrusting his title skywards! He marches down the aisle confidently, climbs onto the apron, and stands proudly with one foot on the second rope, one on the top, and his title in his right hand, swaying over his head. He hops off the northern ropes and leans against the turnbuckle, looking over at Steve as referee Peter London gets this highly anticipated match up underway.
The bell rings...
Neither man decides to play to the already electric crowd who is on their feet for the start of this one, instead opting to move right to the center of the ring into a lock-up. Obviously Steve will have the strength advantage in this, but Roy isn't backing down as the two individuals move around the ring in the lock-up, each hoping to move their opponent onto the ropes. Most of the backing up is done by Chambers during this exchange as Steve continues looking to shove his opponent onto the ropes in an attempt to one up the champion early on. Roy senses this and doesn't allow Twist to do so, instead making sure to turn away from the ropes just prior to being planted on them. This struggle continues as the crowd cheers both competitors on until Roy finally seems to have had it and allows himself to be pushed back, only to go between the middle and top ropes so both men fall to the floor! Even down the two men keep the lock in and get back to their feet as they now battle it out on the floor in front of the capacity GWA crowd who are fortunate enough to be seeing this match live. After a bit longer Steve is finally able to catch Chambers with his back on one of the ring barricades in the collar and elbow tie-up prior to breaking it and slamming Roy across the chest with a stiff chop. As much as this hurt Chambers he comes right back at Twist with a chop of his own as the two begin to unload on each other on the floor, much to the delight of the crowd. Roy knows that to take it to Twist he is going to have to hit him with several more chops than the powerful Savior is going to have to hit on him and breaks free after another brutal chop by Twist to hit Steve with a flurry of chops right to the chest. This seems to be effective as Roy keeps going, only for Steve to suddenly shrug the chops off and nail Roy in the head with a few elbows and leave him plummeting to the floor with a brutal chop that knocks the wind out of Roy.
Taking a quick breather as the crowd continues to cheer, Steve smirks at Roy who is holding his chest in pain. Chambers doesn't return this at all and just tries to regain his composure as Steve grabs him by the hair and pulls him to his feet. Back into the ring Roy is rolled by Steve as he gets in as well and goes for a quick cover on the still stunned Prime Time Champion, 1...foot on the ropes. Roy may be hurt, but he isn't stupid about wasting his energy which is shown here. Twist doesn't seem concerned by this at all as he stands up, hoisting Chambers up with him, and places Roy into a front facelock. Steve moves away from the ropes after this towards the center of the ring before going to lift Chambers up for a Vertical Suplex. Showing that he isn't that weakened yet, Roy nails Steve with a knee to the face to stop this and pulls himself free of the front facelock once he is set back on the ground. Thinking quickly "The Heartbreaker" decides to hit Steve with a single leg takedown while he is dazed, making sure to grab Steve's right leg for some reason. Roy can't manage to do anything once he has Steve down however, as Steve uses his free left leg to shove Chambers off into the ropes while he gets back to his feet in a hurry. Not wanting to waste this opportunity to take an advantage, Chambers rebounds off the ropes back at Steve as "The White Phoenix" gets to his feet. Even though Steve sees Roy coming he is caught off guard by Roy suddenly jumping up onto Steve with a Lou Thesz Press, not a move Steve had expected. Both individuals go down onto the mat with Chambers on top momentarily, only for Steve to suddenly roll over on top of Roy as he swiftly adjusts to his situation. Chambers can't seem to believe the speed of Twist on the mat as Steve immediately sits up on Roy and brings his head up to place Roy in a Front Guillotine Choke, something that Chambers would have done.
What Steve didn't account for was Roy expecting this move from Steve eventually in the match which halves the time it takes Roy to move so he can put a foot on the ropes and have Peter London tell Steve to break the hold. Although Steve doesn't want to, he does break the hold and stands up to his feet, only to have Chambers grab his right leg once more and rip him off his feet prior to Roy grapevining Steve's leg with his own legs to place Steve in a Leg Scissors. The former BTWF World Heavyweight Champion does not look amused by this as he knows Roy is going after the leg that Steve broke almost a year ago. This anger leads to Steve trying to hit Roy with strikes, only for Chambers to lean back with Steve's leg still held so Twist can't hit him. Seeing this is the case "The White Phoenix" redirects his energy to moving towards the ropes and getting a hold of them, something that doesn't take him very long as the two competitors were already close to the ropes. When Chambers is told to let go of the hold now he decides not to, making Peter London start a count. 1...2...3...4...Chambers releases the hold in time and tells the referee that he has until five to break the count, getting laughs from the crowd. As he is having fun Chambers fails to notice Steve getting back up to his feet and about kicking the teeth out of Roy's mouth with his right leg, yelling that he will have to do better than that. "The Heartbreaker" holds his jaw and pounds at the mat as Steve grabs him by the hair and pulls him to his feet where Roy uses a thumb to the eye to get Steve away from him. Finding himself with his back to a corner as Steve rubs his eyes, Chambers thinks of what to do next as Twist makes his way over to him. All Roy can think of to do by the time Steve is in front of him is to begin kicking at the midsection of Steve, knowing that exchanging chops didn't work earlier.
A few toe kicks by the Prime Time Champion manage to move Steve away from the corner and allow Roy to move to the side of Steve where he begins to kick Steve with his shins now. These kicks do seem to be having some effect on Steve and are a nice way for Roy to gain revenge, but after one last big kick by Roy which nails Steve in the chest the Savior shrugs them off completely and comes at Roy with several chops that back "The Heartbreaker" into the corner once more. Not willing to just get beat up, Chambers begins to fight back with a flurry of forearms and chops to Steve as Twist continues to dish out chops, getting the crowd fired back up again. Even with Roy out producing Steve when it comes to strikes, he just doesn't have the build to withstand strikes like Steve does and out of desperation Roy begins to start kicking at the right leg of Steve to back Twist away from him. At first this doesn't even look like it is working, but eventually the sheer magnitude of blows to Steve's right leg makes him stagger out of the corner, getting a big rise out of the Champ's fans in attendance tonight. Determined to keep his advantage Roy marches out of the corner holding his chest which already is looking like ground beef and comes rushing at Steve to hit him with a Running Knee Lift. As Roy goes to hit Steve with this move however, he fails to realize that he is running straight into a vicious elbow from Steve that makes him hit the mat like a ton of bricks. With Roy down Steve shakes his leg slightly before covering the champion who may be knocked out, 1...2...Chambers kicks out. This doesn't surprise Steve or the fans in attendance who have watched Roy defend his belt for many months now.
Getting up to his feet Steve still feels some pain in his right leg which annoys him as he grabs Chambers by the hair and pulls him to his feet as well. With the partially unconscious Prime Time Champion on his feet Steve places Roy into a front facelock before shouting out to the crowd "Savior of the Neckbreaker!" and turning Roy around in the facelock to hit him with a Hangman's Neckbreaker. The crowd is a mixture of cheering and laughter for this as Steve goes for another cover on Roy afterwards, 1...2...Chambers kicks out. Once more this isn't surprising as Steve pulls Roy back up to his feet and into a front facelock again. Just like last time Steve yells out "Savior of the Neckbreaker!" with some of the crowd doing the same prior to hooking Roy's leg and hitting him with a Fisherman's Neckbreaker! This variation gets an even better reaction than the last as it is tougher to do and Steve goes for another cover afterwards, 1...2...Roy kicks out. Looking semi-content with this Steve doesn't bring Chambers to his feet this time, but instead sits him up and places him into a Sleeper before leaning back and placing Roy into a Body Scissors as well. This calms the crowd down a bit as they know Steve wants to work over the neck of Chambers more, but aren't too excited about it. Steve sees this and yells out "How about this then?" as he uses his free arm and pulls the hair of Chambers while keeping him in the Sleeper. This makes the crowd cheer loudly as Peter London counts, 1...2...3...4...Steve lets go of the hair a split second prior to five and says something to Peter London about him having the same count rights as Chambers. Of course Steve doesn't stop at this as he grabs Chamber's hair and begins to pull at it again shortly after, getting the crowd behind him once more as London counts. 1...2...3...4...Once more Steve lets go in time and begins to pull Roy's hair again right after.
At this point referee Paul London is not the only one annoyed. Roy Chambers, who obviously spends a lot of time and money on his hair, is starting to get desperate to break the hold. However, he is unable to move very far with Steve Twist being dead weight on his back and obviously being nearly impervious to all strikes. As the referee begins the five count Chambers realizes that the body scissors places Steve Twist's leg closer than Steve would like to have it. Capitalizing on this, Chambers grabs Steve's leg and pulls it up closer and begins to bombard it with a series of furious elbow shots which seem to actually be forcing Twist to rethink his strategy. With the legs-scissors weakened, Roy is able to break the hold. However Steve Twist still has the sleeper hold expertly applied. Steve compensates for the broken body-scissors by cinching the hold in tighter than he normally would. Chambers' face soon starts to shift colors from tan to red. Before referee Peter London can check Chambers, the Prime Time Champion manages to roll backwards out of the hold. He lifts Twist off the mat, stands up straight, and lets loose with a soccer kick that sends a resonating SMACK echoing throughout the arena. The fans utter an Ooh after the shot, but Steve seems almost indifferent to the attack. Chambers rears back and hits him with another, harder, louder kick. This serves to break Twist's stoic indifference, but not by much. Roy can see that he is finally getting through in his striking offence and goes to capitalize. He smacks the ground with both fists before adopting a fighting stand, and shooting forward with another Stiff Kick! But to his surprise Steve Twist leans backwards at the last moment and catches Roy's foot. The Heartbreaker barely has any time to react before Twist grapevines the leg and rolls him forward in a leg-scissors takedown. From here Steve floats over into a front facelock, further working the neck of Chambers.
Steve Twist makes sure to use the facelock not only as a transition move, but as an actual submission as well, pulling at the neck as he lifts his opponent up. He gets Chambers all the way to his feet before turning them back to back for another neckbreaker. But before Twist can save yet another neckbreaker, Roy Chambers manages to slip out of the hold, turning around and pulling Twist's arm across his own neck and yelling "Save This!" before dropping down and hitting Twist with a Cutthroat Neckbreaker onto his knee! The Roy Chambers fans pop for the neckbreaker aficionado. The Heartbreaker, knowing a chain when he sees one, holds onto the arm and hoists Twist back to his feet. He whips him across the ropes and drops to his stomach, forcing Twist to hop over him only to pop right back up and hit the rebounding Twist with a dropkick to the right leg of The White Phoenix! Twist goes down, holding his leg in pain as Chambers kips up and throws out his arms to his side before patting his chest thrice, mocking a well known athlete. The crowd is split, some laughing at the satire, some booing Chambers' cocky attitude, and some booing the fact that Steve Twist was on the receiving end of the exchange. Twist at this point is nursing his leg, which was heavily jarred by the dropkick. Using the ropes he is able to gain his footing, but Chambers is still upon him as he rushes for a Yakuza Kick! But Steve Twist manages to get under Roy's leg and toss him over the top rope with ease. The Prime Time Champion shows his wit as he grabs the top rope with both hands and keeps himself from being taken to the floor. He hoists himself to the apron while The Savior moves to the center of the ring. He turns back to Chambers, who has now almost gotten himself onto the apron, and rushes forward with a baseball slide to take out Roy's footing. Chambers just manages to avoid contact as he slingshots over the top rope just as Twist slides out of the ring.
Steve Twist lands on the outside with ease, still showing some slight ill-effects from the dropkick. The turns around to see The Heartbreaker still holding onto the top rope. Chambers propels himself into the air in a Slingshot Somersault Plancha! But Twist rolls back into the ring as Roy hits the ground with his feet, but is unable to handle the impact of the drop and spills out onto the hardwood floor, hitting his shoulder on the guard rail. Steve Twist, now in the ring, pumps his arm in a play to the crowd, takes off against the opposite ropes, and dives through the ropes, catching Chambers right in the jaw with an ELBOW TOPE SUICIDA! The crowd jumps to their feet with various chants of "Holy s**t!" and "Lets go Twist!" Steve is reasonably quick to get to his feet, considering he had to take a significant bump in order to plow through Chambers (who is currently out like a light on the floor). Steve takes a moment to look out to his new fan-base, crowded into the relatively small Durem building, and actually exceeding the 800 person limitation. He turns his attention back to the Prime Time Champion, grabbing him by his silky hair and pulling him up. He reels him in close, only to create major distance with a European Uppercut that forces Roy to stumble backwards into the barricade. Twist cocks his arm and hits a brutal chop, which renders Roy's chest an ever deeper shade of red. He grabs Chambers by the head and rolls him under the rope, into the ring. Steve is quick to follow. Roy starts to sit up, the chop waking him up considerably. And this is not the last as Twist hits Roy with another stiff chop, this time to the back of his injured neck! The muscles in Roy s face tighten as the pain shoots up his neck. Twist steps back only to come forward with another skin-destroying chop. This is more than Chambers can bare, and he is forced to find a counter. He does so much in the same manner that Twist did earlier; by rolling backwards, grabbing Twist's foot and rolling him forward, grapevining the leg in a Grapevine Ankle Lock!
Twist pounds on the mat in pain as The Heartbreaker smirks brightly. Twist attempts to kick the champion off, but is unable to do so. Roy's grip is only tightening by the moment, and The White Phoenix is forced to find a new way out. Using his upper body strength and his free leg, Twist pulls himself painstakingly across the canvas to the ropes. Every inch of the way the weight of Roy Chambers pulls back on his leg, increasing the stress on his ankle. Twist is so close to the ropes he can almost feel them. His arm is stretched as far as it can go. The pain in his leg wills him on. Just as he is about to make it to the ropes, Roy Chambers breaks the leg-scissors and pulls Steve Twist further to the center of the ring. Though this may have been a costly mistake, as he tries to apply the grapevine again, but Twist blocks Roy's attempts with his free leg. Chambers kicks desperately at Twist's leg, but is unable to lock the leg-scissors back in. Instead, he stands back up, applying a more traditional ankle lock. But Twist is well prepared for this move as he somersaults himself causing Roy to stumble forward, thus putting him under Roy. He grabs onto Roy s legs and rolls him up for a pin attempt. 1.....2.....Roy kicks out quickly after two, pausing momentarily due to shock at how quickly Steve applied the pin. Steve quickly rolls away to put some distance between himself and Chambers, allowing him some much needed time to recuperate. The Heartbreaker is up fairly quickly, and immediately notices that he has begun to seriously affect Twist's leg, as Steve is taking much longer than he normally would to get up. Chambers is very willing to take advantage of this and swoops in with an arm drag that takes Twist to the mat. Twist is slow to his feet yet again, letting Roy know that he needs to take advantage now before the Strong Style wrestler can win back the upper-hand.
With the White Phoenix forced into a defensive game, Chambers is all the more ready to take advantage of the situation. Roy snatches Steve up in another arm drag, this time making sure to hold onto the arm, turning it into an arm lock. The lock isn't on long, as Twist is well versed in holds and counter holds and is able to take Chambers to the mat with a fireman s carry takeover. Twist catches Roy with a Head-Scissors, but Chambers quickly rolls it over and floats over into a facelock, lifting The Savior to his feet. He brings Twist to the corner and stands him up, hitting him with a stiff kick to his gut and taking his leg and wrapping it around the second rope. He pulls at Steve s leg, grinding it against the steel cable inside the rope! Steve tries to push Roy away, but Roy keeps him at a distance by pushing against his chest with his foot. His leg stretches painfully against the ropes as the referee begins the DQ count. 1...2....3....4.. Roy breaks the hold mere seconds before the four, raising his hands innocently. The referee gives him a warning, but it is quickly replaced by a harsher warning as Twist untangles his leg and blasts the Prime Time Champion in the side of the head with a harsh slap! The echo floats across the hall as the challenger starts to blast Roy with big chops and slaps, letting loose his frustration that has slowly been built up. Roy takes a cheap shot with a toe-kick to Twist's knee. He places his arm across his opponent s chest and yells out a prideful roar of S....T....O! But Twist halts the move with several elbows to the side of Roy's neck, twists the arm behind his back in a hammerlock, and drops him on his head with a Hammerlock DDT! Roy Chambers is spiked right on his head, folding up his neck like an accordion. The crowd is in a frenzy for the retaliation of Steve Twist!
By this point the wear of keeping at an active pace for most of this match is starting to show on both competitors, but that doesn't stop Steve as he pushes himself back up to his feet and grabs Chambers by the hair. Jerking "The Heartbreaker" to the middle of the ring by his hair while Roy is still on his knees, Steve gets ready to pull the Prime Time Champion back up, only to get some stiff shots to the abdomen by Chambers. These only serve to annoy Steve who slams Roy in the head with a headbutt, something Steve wouldn't usually do. Even though is it through unconventional means, Twist does about knock Chambers out with this prior to bringing him back to a standing position. Being back in the driver's seat Steve starts things off by pulling the head of Chambers down so his neck is exposed before planting some swift elbow shots right to Roy's spine. These jar the Champion awake in a rather unpleasant manner, but Steve doesn't stop there as he pulls Roy down further and uses his left leg to deliver several knees to the side of Chambers' neck. More force seems to be placed in these than the elbows and Roy immediately feels it as he drops down to his knees. A few more shots are delivered by Steve before he lets go of Roy's hair and shakes out his right leg while Roy keeps his head and neck held on the ground. Not wanting to give Chambers anytime to rest Steve is right back on him within a few moments as he grabs Roy's near left leg and pulls it backwards with him as he keeps to Roy's side and drops his left knee right into the back of Chambers' neck! The fans throughout the jam packed Durem Arena cheer loudly for this as Steve tries to place Roy's foot to the back of his head while keeping all his weight right on the injured neck of the Prime Time Champion.
Knowing that this kind of punishment is more than he can take for long Roy begins to push Steve's knee off his neck. Once this has been done and Twist is forced to stand to his feet, Chambers makes a mad dash towards the bottom rope he has been watching in vain for so long. Upon grabbing it "The Heartbreaker" breathes a sigh of relief as he believes his pain is over. This isn't the case however, as Steve suddenly pulls Roy back away from the ropes by the left leg he still has held and places Chambers into an STF! Just like the last submission hold Steve applied this STF gets the fans cheering as the crowd seems to be favoring Steve much more right now, hoping a title change is in the works. Wanting very much to disappoint them, Roy starts to inch forward back to the ropes that now look miles instead of a few feet away as Steve keeps the STF locked in. As the seconds pass by and the crowd grows louder a worried look passes over Roy's already strained face. Thoughts of tapping become more frequent by the second, but as the ropes begin to get closer these pass and Roy is finally able to reach out for them. Without warning these ropes are suddenly jerked from Chambers' grasp as Twist leans back to a sitting position with the STF still applied! Now the GWA fans are on their feet as there is no way Roy can withstand this much longer, but before too long Steve lets Roy down, the pressure on his legs being too great. Letting go of the hold, Steve stands back up to his feet and shakes his right leg out once more as Roy stays down on the ground, just happy to have dodged another bullet in this match. This joy only lasts momentarily as Steve pulls him back into the middle of the ring and flips him over for a cover, 1...2...Roy kicks out.
As usual a lot of pressure was applied during this pin and Roy seems to be having a harder time kicking out because of this. Sensing how worn down his opponent is Steve goes for another pin right after, 1...2...Roy kicks out again. This time Chambers actually manages to sit up after kicking out, just to convince Steve he is still alive in this match. While this gesture works for it's intended purpose it also allows Steve to move behind Roy and place him right back in the Sleeper hold he had applied earlier in the match. Before Steve can get this properly applied to it's fullest, Roy quickly slips out of Steve's grasp and manages to hit Steve with a kick to the face as he leans backwards. The shock from this kick makes Steve jump back up to his feet and stumble backwards slightly as Roy holds his neck and gets to his knees. Unwilling to allow Chambers back into this match Steve rushes at him to the best of his ability with a Lariat attempt as Roy pops back up to his feet. Somehow Chambers is able to duck under the arm of Twist and sprints towards the opposite set of ropes as Steve hits the near ropes. As Chambers rebounds off the ropes he expects Steve to be coming back towards him to meet at the center of the ring but this isn't the case as Steve hangs onto the ropes he hit to stop himself. Ignoring the danger of this Roy keeps coming right at Steve, only to suddenly put on the brakes right before coming into contact with Steve, knowing what happened last time. Twist isn't going to let Chambers get away that easily however as he winds up to smack "The Heartbreaker" with a chop, only to find himself getting kicked straight in the right knee by Roy to knock him off his feet.
With a satisfied smirk on his face Roy bends down and slaps Steve right upside the head prior to quickly trapping Steve in a front facelock and pulling him back to the middle of the ring. While some fans cheer this, most seem to be jeering Chambers pretty openly now and have turned to Steve's side either during this match or were already on his side from the start. This annoys Roy who taunts the crowd some with Steve held and begins to kick away at the right leg of Steve some more, hoping to soften it back up after Steve has been able to rest it. As more and more of the crowd begin to boo Roy the GWA Champion just smirks and yells "BRAINBUSTAH!" before lifting Steve up and planting him with the move. Most figure Roy will pin after this, but the arrogant champion does no such thing and instead decides to roll through back to his feet with the facelock held. Not one to rush into things, Chambers makes sure to yell at the crowd to get even more jeering and a tiny bit of cheering out of the them. While he is doing this he doesn't realize Twist is regaining his senses and as Roy goes to hit Twist with a second Brainbuster "The White Phoenix" suddenly pulls Roy down into a front facelock of his own using the arm Roy has draped over his shoulders. Grabbing Chambers' free right arm Steve places it under Roy's legs and keeps it held with his free left hand prior to lifting Roy up and planting him with a WRIST-CLUTCH BRAINBUSTER!!! Chambers' goes head first into the ground as the jeers change into an explosive amount of cheering, the fans willing Steve on to cover Roy and become the new champion. Steve doesn't do this however, and instead rolls back through to his feet with Roy still in the front facelock. Keeping the Prime Time Champion held Steve signals for the end as he lets go of the front facelock momentarily to cross Roy's arms across his chest. This doesn't last long as Chambers' starts kicking Steve's injured leg with all his might before freeing himself from Steve and grabbing the leg to pull Steve off his feet.
Despite the pain that has built up in his neck Roy knows that one more big move would have taken him out for good and tries desperately to take Steve out of this match once and for all by continually kicking at his right leg with it held. A total of probably twenty or more kicks connects as Steve grasps at the leg and cringes in pain, but Roy doesn't stop there as he places Steve into a Toehold. Even if this move isn't impressive it is effective as Steve tries to use his free leg to push Roy off of him, only for Roy to change the hold to a Spinning Toehold and wear down Steve's leg even more. After a couple of rotations Chambers eases back into a standard Toehold and is pushed away from Steve soon after, still keeping Steve's leg held even then. Placing Steve's leg into a Cravat to stretch it even more Roy thinks about what to do next as he then places Steve's leg back under his arm and moves back towards Steve to turn him over onto his front side. Twist tries to fight this off using his free leg, but Chambers avoids his kicks with ease and manages to turn Steve over to place him in a Single Leg Boston Crab. Immediately Steve begins to crawl towards the near ropes which are almost within his reach. Roy notices this in a hurry and hastily pulls Steve back away from them towards the middle of the ring while keeping the Single Leg Boston Crab locked in. The crowd jeers this and gets Roy yelling that they are hypocrites because of Steve doing the same thing to him earlier. No one in the Durem Arena actually seems to care about this as they continue jeering, upsetting Chambers enough that he breaks the hold and goes to lift Steve back up to his feet. With "The White Phoenix" back up to a vertical base Roy taunts the crowd as he places Steve in a front facelock and hooks his right leg to hit him with a Fisherman's Suplex! Somehow Steve manages to escape this before he gets off the ground and slams Roy in the face with a chop which dazes the Prime Time Champion and allows Steve to pick Roy up off his feet prior to yelling "HAWKEYE NECKBREAKER!" and dropping down to his knees as Roy comes down to the canvas with his head draped over Steve's shoulder! The massive trauma this puts on Roy's neck leaves him in a heap on the mat, but Steve falls over afterwards as well, clutching his right knee in pain.
Steve Twist lies on the mat clutching at his knee, which absorbed a lot of impact from the body weight of both himself and Roy Chambers, who has now began to twitch at the side of the ring. Roy's leg twitches wildly as he slowly rolls out onto the apron and eventually plops out of the ring and onto the floor. He holds his neck, being careful not to move it more than he has to. Meanwhile, the fans are busy chanting "You Killed Chambers!" clap, clap, clap-clap-clap, "You Killed Chambers!" Steve Twist, with assistance from the ropes, is back up and smiling brightly, looking out into the sea of his new fans. His eye is caught by Roy Chambers, who is barely managing to get back to his feet, still holding the back of his neck with care. Twist knows that his chance to strike is now. He comes off the ropes and slides down with his left foot outstretched for a one-legged Baseball Slide. But Roy sees him out of the corner of his eye and catches his leg under his arm. He pulls Twist across the ring over to the nearest turnbuckle. He pulls him close, to get his right foot in range. He grabs his right leg and slams it against the ring post! Twist cringes in pain as he is introduced to the steel. Chambers, sensing blood, continues to ram Steve s leg against the ring post mercilessly. The referee bends over the top rope, yelling for Chambers to get back into the ring or risk a disqualification. Roy, knowing Peter London wouldn't dare throw out such an important match, tempts fate just a little more as he crosses Steve's legs around the post, crosses them, and drops backwards in a TEXAS CLOVERLEAF AROUND THE RING POST!! Steve howls in pain as referee Paul London begins the DQ count. 1...2...3...4...Fi-Chambers releases the hold at the last possible split-second. Twist quickly pulls himself away from the apron, nursing his leg. Chambers, very proud of himself, climbs up onto the apron and plays to the fans a bit before grabbing hold of the top rope and propelling himself into the ring to hit a slingshot elbow drop onto Steve's knee!
The slingshot elbow drop, while being an effective move on Twist, also took some life out of Chambers, especially coming off the devastating Hawkeye Neckbreaker. Roy Chambers now holds an almost primal twinkle in his eyes, reminiscent of that in the Gambino Cell when he first won the title. Now his mean streak serves to help him hang onto his cherished belt, as he pulls Steve ever closer to the ropes. He rests his right leg on the bottom rope, and follows up by standing right on it! The Durem crowd is in a uproar, jeering the despicable actions of their champion. But at this point, all is lost to Chambers except for the clear motivation to hold onto his title by any means possible. Peter London begins another DQ count. 1...2...3...4...Chambers steps off the leg, quickly giving It a soccer kick to knock it off the bottom rope. Peter London backs Roy into a corner, threatening disqualification and giving Roy a final warning. But Roy shrugs off the warning and shoves off Peter London as he goes right back after Twist. Roy Chambers, knowing that Twist has phenomenal durability and stamina, decides it best to finish the match as quickly as possible. He grabs Steve's right leg and slowly pulls his thumb across his throat. He grabs the other leg and crosses them and tucks them under his right arm, attempting to turn them over for the Haas of Pain, which put Sparco out only weeks ago! But Twist fights violently against him. Chambers almost has Twist turned over, as Steve is now lying on his side, using his left arm to push against Roy. The Heartbreaker, getting desperate and unnerved by the fight the former world champion is putting up, resorts to desperate measures by lighting Steve s back up with his trademark stiff kicks that send a sickening smack echoing throughout the building. But The White Phoenix still refuses to be put down. He pulls Roy in by bending his legs, then shoves him off and sends him bouncing across the ring.
More than a little embarrassed by being over powered by a practically one-legged man, Chambers is red hot coming off of this. Twist rolls backwards into a kneeling position and is almost up when Chambers charges forward and connects with a vicious YAKUZA KICK! Twist is knocked into the ropes hard. He leans against the bottom rope as Roy is mercilessly kicking him in the chest. Finally, after his fit of range has peaked, he lifts him up and throws his arm over his shoulder, signaling for the Heartburn! But Steve forces his way out of this hold as well with several hard elbows to the side of Roy s raw neck. Roy is forced to loosen his hold and Steve forces him into a standing head-scissors with a hard left-knee. He hooks both of his arms, looking for a Tiger Driver! But The Prime Time Champion bends his legs, keeping him close to the ground and safe from the move. Steve hits him with several kicks, but is too weak to lift a fighting Chambers. He unhooks one of his arms and delivers a painful elbow right into Roy's spine, but just gave Roy a big opening. The champion uses his free leg to hook Twist's leg, stands up, and floors The Savior with an STO. Still holding onto the leg, Roy grabs Steve's other leg ans crosses them for a Texas Cloverleaf! Once again Roy tries to turn Twist over. But Twist is well prepared this time, as he slips his left leg free and knocks The Heartbreaker off after several boot scrapes. Roy grabs both legs and again tries for the Cloverleaf, but Roy manages to lock Roy's neck in a head-scissors first! The champion struggles in the vice, but soon succumbs to the pressure. Twist does his best to roll Roy over to face the mat while keeping the submission on. He leans forward and hooks both his arms, slowly making his way up into the standing double underhook head-scissors. He makes another attempt to lift him up. Roy puts up a fight yet again, but Steve manages to hoist him up and spike his neck and head directly into the mat with the ABSOLUTE ATONEMENT!! 1.....2......THRE-NO! Roy somehow rolls off of his shoulders just in time!
Steve Twist, unable to capitalize on the advantage, is in a state of near-shock, swearing that the Spike Tiger Driver would have finished the match. Roy Chambers, however, is in a state of actual shock, as his neck sustained severe damage from that move. Which is understandably bad considering most of Steve's moveset involves dropping the opponent on his head. The former world champion is not in a mood to wait for Chambers neck to heal, realizing he must take the opportunity he has been given. Chambers, barely peeling himself off the mat with the ropes, is just over halfway up before Steve Twist hooks his arms in a chickenwing/half-nelson. He tries to pull Roy into the center of the ring for the Zodiac Suplex, but Roy keeps a firm grip on the top rope with his right arm, refusing to be pulled off! Steve tugs at the champion, trying to pry him from his perch, but The Heartbreaker is cemented in. Steve quickly releases the hold and starts going right for Roy's neck with a flurry of chops! After a good nine chops Steve stops, only to come forward with a mighty DISCUS CHOP! Roy's neck snaps forward and he releases the ropes from the sheer shock of the blow. Twist wastes no time in locking the hold in again. He pulls Chambers away while Roy is still reaching for the ropes, and drills him into the mat with a ZODIAC SUPLEX!! Roy lands at a sickening angle and rolls over his head, lying flat on his stomach. Steve Twist is now more confident than ever that the match is all but over. As he goes to roll Roy over for the pin, he is horrified to see the Prime Time Champion already working his way up, slowly but surely. He pushes his body up in a slow push-up, sits up on his knees, and flashes Steve the finger. Steve Twist, more than a little pissed off, grabs Roy's finger and pulls it backward in the dreaded finger lock of death!
With his finger entrapped, Roy is pretty much at the mercy of The White Phoenix. Steve pulls Chambers up from the mat without much trouble. He grabs the wrist with his free hand and pulls Roy in closer, releasing his finger and locking in a cravat, a favorite maneuver of Roy Chambers. Chambers suffers through the hold for nearly a minute, making several weak attempts to elbow Steve's ribs. But this only inspires the former world champion to wrench the hold in harder. Finally, Roy is able to devise a counter. He scoots in closer to Twist, wrapping his arms around his waits, and lifts him up to slide out of the cravat. He holds The Savior up as if for a back suplex, but instead starts to spin around, slowly at first but gradually picking up speed until he is in a full force Airplane Spin-like maneuver! The crowd can be heard in the background counting the seconds. 1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8...9...10...11...12...13...14...15...16...17...18...19...20! At the count of twenty Roy swings Steve around in front of him and drops him with a BLUE THUNDER DRIVER!! Roy tries to keep him down for a three count, but can't even hold himself up and falls over before the referee can get down to make a count. Both men struggle to their feet, obviously dizzy. Roy lashes out with a right hand, but connects with nothing but air. Steve tries to retaliate, but barely grazes Roy's shoulder. Roy now knows where Steve is, grabs onto his head and starts laying into it with elbow shots. But now Steve has a good idea of where Chambers is. He ducks one of the elbows, reaches around and grabs the hand that was holding his head, and uses it to take Chambers to the mat. He lies next to Chambers, throws his arm over his shoulder, and locks in a crossface to complete Riona Langly's PAINKILLER!!! Roy claws at the mat desperatly, the pain of his neck being bent back too much for any mere mortal man. He tries to pull his way to the ropes, slowly inching his way across the canvas. He reaches out with his arm, trying to grab the bottom rope, but all of a sudden Twist lifts his open back off the mat with his legs by bridging and almost breaking Roy's neck in half! Roy is much to far away to reach the ropes! He grows desperate. He tries to pry Steve's fingers away, but can t. If this were any normal match he would have tapped long ago, but the title belt still shines brightly in his eyes. He can't let go when he has come so far, he can t give up yet. Mustering all the strength he has, he reaches forward and grabs the second rope!
Steve Twist is livid, positive that the Painkiller would have put him down and given him the title he has longed for these past few weeks. His destiny once again slips through his hands as he reluctantly breaks the submission at the referee's count of four. He drops to his hands and knees, just realizing how much energy he has expelled in this grueling match. But he spots Roy trying to roll out of the ring. He ignores the nagging pain in his right leg and shoots forward to grab Roy's to pull him into the center of the ring. He tries to apply another Painkiller, but Roy uses several illegal closed fists to knock him away. Roy rolls over to a separate side of the ring and uses the ring ropes to bring himself up. While Steve checks for any lacerations from the fists, Roy is already measuring him for a final attack. Steve finally stands up in the ring and Roy explodes forward, making a slight revolution before lashing out with a DISCUS LARIAT!!! DUCKED!! Twist catches Roy and sends him crashing to the mat with an EXPLODER!! The Prime Time Champion is dropped straight on his head. His eyes grow a glazed and lifeless expression. Steve turns around to make another pin, only to see the fight still left in the champion as he pulls at the empty air, trying to pick himself up in a blind passion. Twist knows that to pin him now would only waste time, and instead pulls him up again. He throws his arm over his shoulder, reaches his arm across his chest, and tosses him backwards for a second EXPLODER!!! The audience is roaring, positive that they will see a new champion crowned. Steve Twist crawls across the ring and drapes an arm over Roy's lifeless body. 1.....2.....THRE-NO!! Roy somehow, someway, has the strength to reach out with his leg and catch the ropes! No one in the building can believe what just happened. Twist, in a fit of rage, pulls Roy's leg off the ropes and hooks it to try again. 1...2....Thre-Roy shoots his arm out and grabs the bottom rope! Twist rolls of Chambers, a desperate man with one goal in mind: to win what is rightfully his. He gives it one last chance. He picks Roy up by his precious, glossy, silky hair, throws his arm across his shoulders, and pulls his arm into a wrist-clutch before lifting him up for an EXPLODER 98!!! NO! Roy Chambers hits Twist with several elbows to the side of his head before he can slip his arm free. He locks Twist in position for an STO before bending him backwards and yelling "I'M BETTER THAN YOU!!!" Chambers flings Twist backwards to hit the Austin Azure UNSUNG GENERATIONS!!!

Roy Chambers vs Steve Twist continued...
The crowd is all over Chambers for the mind games, but both men lie on the mat, exhausted and beaten. Neither one moving an inch. Referee Peter London checks both their arms, both of which hit the mat just as soon as they re lifted up. He backs up and begins the count. 1...2...3...4...5... Both men start to move, hearing the faded words of the fans cheering them on. 6...7... Steve Twist is on his hands and knees as Roy Chambers leans on the second rope. 8...9... Steve Twist stands up straight and Roy is slightly huddled over the ropes, but it is enough to continue the match. The fans cheer for the display of heart shown by both men. Their eyes lock from across the ring. Just as if the match had already began, they start to circle each other. The circle gradually gets smaller and smaller until they reach the center of the ring. Both have a fighting stance adopted, but it is Twist who casts the first stone. He grabs Chambers' head and hits an elbow shot. Roy retaliates with a shot of his own. They begin exchanging elbow strikes in the center of the ring, the crowd behind them all the way. Twist starts to gain the advantage, but Roy stops this quickly with a stiff kick just below his left ribs. Steve halts his flurry and stirkes back with a chop that sends a deafening smack across the crowded arena. Roy lashes out with another kick that mimics Steve's. Both men start battling it out agian, locked in a stalemate of chops and kicks, the smacks slowly blurring together until they are only overpowered by the insane roar of the crowd around them. Twist grabs Roy and throws him into the corer, letting loose with a flurry of machine gun chops! He winds up for a Discus Chop, but Roy ducks under it and backs Steve into the corner, hitting him with a barrage of kicks to the gut. But Twist fights his way out of it with the hardest chop yet that knocks Roy away from the corner. He holds his chest in pain as he turns away from Twist and goes to one knee. He slowly works his way back up, knowing that Steve will be planning something. He whips around to meet The Savior as he explodes from his corner, both of them executing a running turn before they hit DUAL ROARING ELBOWS!!! They both hit the ground hard as not a single crowd member is sitting down, everyone chanting "THIS IS AWESOME!! THIS IS AWESOME!!"
With both men knocked down seemingly unconscious on the mat referee Peter London begins a count as the GWA fans begin to will them both on. 1...2...3...4...5...Steve begins to stir, seemingly getting the lesser of the two shots. 6...7...Chambers begins to get to his feet as well as Steve makes it up on one foot. 8...Immediately Steve moves over to Roy when he is up and delivers a vicious kick right to the jaw with his left leg! That may be the knock out shot in this match as Roy falls flat to his back and the fans continue going wild, but Steve opts not to go for the cover. Instead "The White Phoenix" grabs Roy by the hair and hauls him back up to his feet prior to positioning him in the corner and hoisting him up onto the top turnbuckle. Shaking out his right leg slightly beforehand, Steve begins to climb the ropes in the corner and pulls Chambers up to a standing position as well. Everyone is on their feet now, even those few who weren't before, watching in wonder at what Steve might be doing as he bends Roy over and places him in a reverse standing head scissors! The crowd ERUPTS as Twist yells out "THE...UNJUST...SANCTITY!!!" and turns around to bring Roy up into a Reverse Gory Special, but Chambers slips out! With the best of his ability Steve whirls around on the top rope, only to get slammed with a kick to the right leg as Steve falls forward into a front facelock of Roy who then hooks Twist's right leg to go for the SUPER FISHERMAN'S BUSTER!!! The GWA fans spare no language for this as chants of "Holy ********!" start around the arena while Roy writhes in pain on the ground holding his neck. Steve appears to be dead as he lies on the ground barely breathing, but the fans hold a last pinch of hope as Roy slowly crawls towards Steve for the cover, 1...2...2.5...2.9...3-FOOT ON THE ROPES!!!
Sitting up to his knees after this Roy looks absolutely disgusted with referee Peter London, TELLING him that it was a three count and that he is still the GWA Prime Time Champion. London doesn't back down however and waves two fingers in front of Roy's face which pisses the badly hurt Champion off as he gets up and grabs Steve's arm to pull him to the middle of the ring. When Roy does this however, Twist shoves him off which only upsets Chambers further. Knowing that his anger could cost him, Roy decides to cool off momentarily as Steve slowly gets to his feet, holding his head slightly because of the impact on it. Once Steve is up Roy immediately rushes at him to go for a Double Leg Takedown, but Steve manages to stay on his feet and fight it as he is backed into the ropes. Peter London tries to get Chambers to break the hold he has on Twist's legs as he continues to drive the Savior into the ropes, but that isn't necessary as Steve suddenly wakes back up from his daze and beats the holy hell out of Roy's neck! Numerous blows to the neck of Chambers seem to knock him out before Steve pulls him back to his feet into a front facelock and moves away from the ropes to place Roy into a FRONT GUILLOTINE CHOKE!! The GWA fans still haven't left their feet and for good reason as Roy is only moments away from possibly submitting the biggest prize in Gaia wrestling to probably the biggest name in Gaia wrestling. The GWA Prime Time Champion isn't going to let this happen without a fight however and begins to elbow Steve's right leg and hit him with any kind of strike available in his unprotected abdominal area. This only lasts a small while prior to Steve letting go of Roy and falling backwards exhausted while holding his knee. Chambers holds his neck for only a split second before spotting an opportunity and grabbing Steve's leg to wrap around his. The crowd doesn't seem to know quite what Roy is doing as he then turns over onto his stomach and stands up, showing them a perfectly applied SHARPSHOOTER!!
"The White Phoenix" begins to scream in pain as Roy once again is back working on his right leg, thoughts of giving up now entering his mind. The determination Steve has to win tonight however seems to parallel the determination he had when he had his opportunity to gain the BTWF World Heavyweight Championship and that kind of determination won't be put down so easily. Chambers won't let up just because of this kind of emotional want and makes Steve work for it as he continues pressuring his legs. Suddenly Steve falls flat on his face, apparently out of it, only to then push himself back up and break the Sharpshooter! As Roy stumbles to the ropes the crowd goes into a frenzy as no one had expected Steve to still have that kind of strength left in his legs. Chambers knows that there isn't much left in Steve now though and goes back over to him in a hurry as Steve gets on his knees, only for Steve to suddenly hook Roy into a Small Package, 1...2...2.9...Roy kicks out! Chambers doesn't seem to know what the hell happened as he sits back up, but immediately nails a couple of stomps to Twist's knee upon standing up and hearing the ref say "two." The Savior hasn't given up the fight and shoves Roy away from him after these, not even being able to stand up from the looks of it. This gives Chambers an idea as he suddenly runs back into the far ropes before rushing back at Steve for a YAKUZA KICK!! BLOCKED!!! Steve grabs Roy's foot and whips him around into a SLEEPER!! The fans are going absolutely insane now as Roy tries to bend down and flip Steve over his shoulders, only for Steve to step on the back of Chambers' leg to block it!
With the Prime Time Champion fading the GWA fans begin to chant "Twist, Twist, Twist!" and as Roy falls to his knees everyone begins cheering even louder. Roy pops right back up however and suddenly starts towards the near corner while still in the Sleeper. Using the ropes in this corner to climb up, Roy looks for an old school counter out of this move, only for Steve to suddenly jerk him back away from the ropes and hit him with a SLEEPER SUPLEX!!! Roy lands directly on his head from this move and Twist quickly moves over to him afterwards into a cover, 1...2...2.9...Roy kicks out! The crowd deflates once more after this kickout and Steve looks about ready to just kill Chambers and get this over with. This may be his plan as he stands up to his feet, toughing out the pain that has been building in his leg, and lifts Roy back up to his feet so he is facing away from Steve who places him into a Straightjacket Waistlock for the GTO!!! Now the crowd is going absolutely insane as Roy is spiked on his head harder then possibly anyone in the GWA has been before as Steve slowly climbs on top of him for another cover, 1...2...2.5...2.9...3-NO! FOOT ON THE ROPES!! This only seems like poetic justice to Roy while Steve gets the bitter taste of being so close but so far away in this match once more. Finally Twist picks himself back up off the ground prior to almost ripping Roy's hair out as he gets lifted off the canvas and into an inverted facelock. With the crowd still in a highly emotional state Steve yells out "SAVIOR OF THE MOTHER ******** NECKBREAKER!!!" as he goes to hit Roy with his very own CARDIAC ARREST!! NO! Roy suddenly turns around in the inverted facelock and pulls Steve's feet out from under him to place Steve back into the TEXAS CLOVERLEAF!!!
Steve yells out in pain once more as Chambers has him in the very hold his rival, Omega, broke his leg further with only a year ago. A huge amount of jeering comes from the crowd at Roy who has even his most loyal fans turning on him wanting Twist to come out of this match with the belt around his waist. Twist seems to want to please these fans as he pounds on the mat with his fists a couple of times, obviously not as a sign of giving up, and begins to fight towards the ropes which he is just barely able to get. As soon as Steve grabs the near bottom rope however, Chambers pulls him right back out into the center of the ring and begins yelling incoherently at Twist to just give up already. Once more it is shown that the former BTWF Champion isn't going to just give up as he pulls himself back to the ropes yet again, making Roy even more angry that he has to pull Steve back away from them once more. Now it seems as though Steve just can't go on any longer as cringes in pain and buries his face in the mat while Peter London continually asks if he wants to give up. After London asks Steve one final time "The White Phoenix" brings his face up from the mat, looks London straight in the eyes, smirks and screams "NO!" The crowd roars back to life with this and Steve struggles to grab Roy's near ankle which he is able to do and makes Roy fall to his knees to break the hold. Even with the crowd one hundred percent behind him Steve still is hurting and grabs his right leg while Chambers gets back to his feet, holding his neck and waiting for Steve to get up.
As Twist slowly begins to get up Roy just has a huge smirk on his face, seemingly ready to put the challenger away for good. Steve isn't just going to allow this and when he is up he starts to move towards Roy, his leg still being hard to walk on. Chambers gives him a hand with this problem and suddenly stomps right on the right knee of Steve before pulling Steve into position to go for Steve's retired TWISTER!! As Roy comes towards the ropes he is suddenly shoved off into them and nails the hard steel cables with enough impact to inflict some whiplash on his neck and leave him stumbling backwards. With his knee about to give out on him Steve waits as Roy moves back towards him, only to place him into a torture rack for the BURNING TWISTER MACH ZE-NOOO!!!! Steve can't spin with his bad leg and Roy is able to slip off behind Twist where he places him into an inverted facelock for the CARDIAC ARESS-NOOO!!! Steve takes a play right out of Chambers' book and spins around in the facelock before getting free of Roy's hold and smacking him across the face with some brutal strikes! These back Roy into the center of the ring with Steve stumbling forward at him before hitting him with some vicious chops to the chest!! These are followed with some absolutely insane elbows to the side of the head and the jaw that have the fans going crazy due to the stiffness of them!! The beat down continues as Steve just starts to destroy Roy with more elbows and chops with the Prime Time Champion apparently out on his feet!! Peter London cannot stop this bout until it is absolutely certain Roy is out however and Chambers somehow continues to stay on his feet, only for Steve to finally get fed up and hit him with a BURNING AXE HANDLE CHOP TO THE SIDE OF THE HEAD!!! Roy goes down to his knees, the whites of his eyes clearly exposed, but Steve isn't going to stop there as he lifts Roy back to his feet and turns him around while locking his wrist, the arena exploding with cheering as Steve hits Roy with the BURNING TWISTER MACH ONE!!!! Chambers is ******** DEAD as Steve crawls over onto him for the cover, 1...2...2.999...3!!!
Roselyn Peters: "HERE IS YOUR WINNER AND NEW GWA PRIME TIME CHAMPION, STEVE 'SAVIOR' TWIST!!!"
Steve Twist rolls off of Chambers, sweat pouring from his forehead, but with a bright smile on his face. He has done what no one has ever done before him and has marked his spot in the Gambino Wresting Alliance forever. Peter London ducks out of the ring to grab the Prime Time Title, rolls back in, and drapes it over Steve s chest. Steve musters up all the strength he has to sit up, staring at the title that has been thrown into his lap. One could almost mistake the sweat for tears as the locker room empties out onto the entrance aisle to give their new champion a standing ovation. From the midst of them bursts Saria Nalick. She rushes to the ring and embraces Steve Twist, congratulating him on a match well done. Twist holds the title belt high above his head, barely hearing the crowd chant "Match of the Year! Match of the Year!" He jumps onto the turnbuckle and raises the belt, almost blinded from a flurry of camera shots. He hops out of the ring and starts to leave before he is interrupted by a familiar voice...
"STEVE!...STEVE TWIST!"
Steve turns back to see Roy Chambers holding the microphone and panting loudly while sitting on his knees.
Chambers: Get your a** back in this ring. We are not done yet!
Steve reluctantly rolls back into the ring, a look of frustration on his face. He wlaks right up to the champion as the two stare each other down. Roy grabs the title from him as the audience boos and Steve Twist mouths "What the ********!" Roy backs away slightly before he continues.
Chambers: For the past six and a half months, I've defended this belt with honor and respect. You people may not have always agreed with how I've defended it, but I've never backed down from a single challenge. Now, contrary to what people may think, this title wasn't about how much money I could make, or how many people knew my name. No. It was all about this. Everything here. It was always about the Gambino Wrestling Alliance. I love this place with all of my cold, lack heart. I wanted this title to mean something. I wanted this company to mean something. And judging by the fact that you're here, I'd say I've done a damn good job. Tonight I saw my Empire of Excellence crumble before my very feet. But I went down fighting with every last bit of blood that pumps through my veins. And you showed me that you are one ******** tough son of a b***h. Twist, you've always had my admiration, but now you've got my respect.
Roy extends his hand, offering the belt to Steve Twist.
Chambers: This belt is yours now. Defend it with respect and honor. Carry it like a true champion. Because if you don't, I'm taking it right back from you.
Twist grabs the title. There is no handshake, there is no arm-raising, and there is no man-hug. But both men stare at each other in the ring. But this time it is not out of competition or hatred, but out of Mutual Reverence.
