It's been a while since I posted here, but nonetheless, I have nowhere else to go and very few parents to talk to. My son went to Grandma's house for an overnight this weekend and when he came back he refuses to touch his sippy cups. We have a few varying types, but the one we sent him down there with was this style but it has an hourglass kind of shape. It also has a valve to stop him from shaking it everywhere, as he likes to make a mess and then shout 'WET!' at the top of his lungs.
Slightly off tangent, sorry. Anyway - Grandma said she didn't notice any change in him, but he refuses to go NEAR the sippy cup right now. He made me pour the juice down the sink and when I replaced it with milk, he took two sips and refused to touch it again. He even went so far as to stay in the kitchen while the sippy was in the living room. Only suggestions Grandma could give were that maybe he had a toothache or wanted a 'big boy cup', but he's fine with the sippy cups with the handles on them.
So I'm at a loss. I like these bigger cups because they hold like an actual cup would and I don't really want him using the handle ones, but if it's the only way he'll drink right now, I have little choice. I keep trying him with them every now and again and it's still the same; complete freakout, screaming fit and running away bawling his eyes out.
Any suggestions? I'm at a complete loss. Sam is 2 years and 4 months now.
