I was wondering if anyone had any experience in holding RPlay tournaments. I was thinking of using two Brackets in order to show advancing members but would like to know if there is an easier way to do it. Also what would be a good standard to judge on?

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "RP tournament" o.o; how exactly are they competing, and advancing? >.>

edit: *sigh* and another topic is claimed by the posting glitch....

Yeah kinda like that. I run a BLEACH guild so they would have RP fights judged by Mods to see who the winner is. I just don't know if a tree tournament is the way to go or should I go for a round Robin style.

oh, something like that. I've seen those before =3 first, get a list of people wanting to participate. then, you could set it up like this:

1: clean out/purchase up a subforum for the tournament
2: Make an announcement with the tournament advances, something like shown below
Quote:
[Username 1] vs. [Username 2]
[Username 3] vs. [Username 4]
[Username 5] vs. [Username 6]
[Username 7] vs. [Username 8]

3: Create threads that reflect the names of the initial fights (as in, name them "username 1 vs. username 2" so it's easy to navigate)
4: set a time limit for when the first fights are supposed to be complete. When time limit is reached, lock the threads.
5: Have a mod moniter/review the thread, and decide a winner.
6: Go back to announcement and edit it to show who's fighting who now. example below.

Quote:
Quote:
[Username 1] vs. [Username 2]
[Username 3] vs. [Username 4]

Next battle: [Username 1] vs. [Username 3]
Quote:
[Username 5] vs. [Username 6]
[Username 7] vs. [Username 8]

Next battle: [username 6] vs. [Username 7]

7: Create new threads for the new fights, and repeat.

I was thinking that by having people use the random number generator with a set number of people. that way everyone would be able to be chosen randomly.

well you can organize it however you want to organize it ^^ what's posted above is just one idea of how to go about it.
