Water gives life.
It announces birth,
fills the rivers,
feeds the plants which feed us.
It is the everything.

Opheila arrived a minute or two behind Harabe. Lunos was in his usual position around her shoulders. This had been his idea. Opheila had not been a fan of the idea that they had to kill the sea creature - it felt too much like turning against her own. Lunos had gently suggested that she could try to use that kinship to get the creature to go. If it ignored her, it was a danger - not just to her but to others.
Opheila had reluctantly accepted his words. Lunos had never steered her wrong.
She smiled at Regnes, but it was weary. "If it's sound you need..." she murmured. "Let's see what we can do." Her head tilted back, and she gazed up at the sky for a moment or two, as though expecting it would send her the answers.
And send them it did, as shortly afterwards dark clouds - thunderheads -began to gather. Opheila had learned this talent a year or two ago. Although it didn't always work, she could manipulate air moisture, and if the other elements were just right, she could create a thunderstorm.
It appeared that they were just right.
I will not use it to bring death.
Not unless there is no other choice.
