What do you think is wrong with the world? What are the most urgent problems we face? How would you fix them if you ruled the world?

Well, lets face it...This world is getting worse and worse. The skies are dulled with pollution, and the seas are filled with empty soda cans and oil. Teenagers are talking about sex, like its a game. The trees are getting chopped down. Species are getting extinct. Someone has to do something about it and everybody cares too much about their own convenience and money to care. Things need to change, and no one is willing to do it. Do you really want the future to be filled with a justice system that lets people get away with murder as long as they have enough money and influence?

Much can be said, but I prefer a world government to try to change humans than to have them destroyed, no fun at all.

Starxle Much can be said, but I prefer a world government to try to change humans than to have them destroyed, no fun at all. That's part of the reason I'm against military take-over. Too much risk, and too much death. Also, I want change; world destruction serves no real purpose.

I agree, destruction will only stop the spread of corruption from this planet, either way, would be so unentertaining, and no one would really want to help you.

All they send is the same picture if the same child over & over again!!!!! I know this because my great grandma used to do it & always got the picture of the child she was paying for!!!!! its all a way for a little man to feel big & in charge!!!!!! stressed

Demon Bandit King Peolpe need to back off of society!!!!!!!! let it restore its own balance! our help will only make things worse! we r not only destroying the environment but our economy as well by going out of our way to help others knowing we dont have the resourses to cover it all! most people who sponser things like tht jst need a way to feel better about themselves so they trick us into giving up our money. how do we know they're now jst spending the money on themselves!!!!!!!!!!! All they send is the same picture if the same child over & over again!!!!! I know this because my great grandma used to do it & always got the picture of the child she was paying for!!!!! its all a way for a little man to feel big & in charge!!!!!! stressed If you think all that will sort itself out you're wrong. *We* are destroying our environment and *we* are destroying our economy. People petition not to tear down oil and coal factories because they will lose their jobs. If you had the choice between helping to prevent lung cancer(Possibly even your own) due to an excess of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and keeping your job working at a coal plant. Most people would say that they would keep their job. Of course you would, that's just common sense, right? Wrong, working so close to a place which creates such massive amounts of pollution is bound to affect your health. Maybe you are getting money for the job, but you're doing it at the risk to your own health. Also, I don't plan on us messing with things all that much. However, when something threatens global security that we can prevent. I honestly believe that we should, in fact, try everything we can through a united global effort to stop it from happening. We should be more prepared to deal with a meteor that could destroy humanity as we know it. We shouldn't reduce pollution as much as we can, and not just a half-hearted attempt. We should not have to worry about oil spills slaughtering millions of fish and ruining the environment, when oil is *Not* a requirement for life. I know that society is not completely at fault for everything that happens to us. However, society should not be so ignorant about it's environment. Everyone is worrying about the economy, but the national economy being low has nothing to do with the security of man-kind and the world safety. Right now, as far as world issues go, I am concerned about population growth, the search for alternative energy sources, development of a defensive satellite system for the use of detecting incoming meteors, global pollution, getting an effective and non-corrupt policing system in Mexico, the actual and in person aid of Africa, reducing the amount of preventable wars, making sure world war 3 never happens. Fixing the justice system, in which celebrities get off with barely a warning, and average people go to jail because they can't afford a decent lawyer. Also, I'm not about "The little man to feel big and in charge" I believe that having a single man in charge would be a terrible thing to do. That would not help the world in any way shape or form. Also, I don't advocate using money that we don't have. The money that will be used for this once we go active, must never go to the negatives. I know you're sick and tired of hearing about all these new problem countries and how they are in such terrible shape, and how you must send 'profitless' agencies money so that they can hoard a percentage(or all) of it and get rich. I don't believe that anything I say will change that, and it's entirely up to you. However, I would like to say some things that you should know about me before you decide anything. I am an honorable person by nature and by thought, I have a code of conduct that I follow at all times. I have my own beliefs, and people are welcome to their own opinions of them and encouraged to let me know of them. I want to know all your concerns about my guild and things I could make better about it. I want to make the world a better place to live in, but only a fool would try to do it alone. What you decide, it's your choice.

This is a great thread, and I love the way you place your passion, Mask. You dream of big changes, though. That wont work so far. Focus on the little details, the small changes that, when combined, will achieve some of the goals you imply.
The first small goal: "convince the democratic Nacirema people that begging for change then bashing down any change suggested is not going to help their situations and it hasn't for the decades they've been doin' it" most people don't see big picture.
It will be a difficult, if not impossible, road to to make a bandaid stick without stapling it with knives and bloody glue. I will support you in any possible way i can. It is a noble cause.

Adorkable Monster The first small goal: "convince the democratic Nacirema people that begging for change then bashing down any change suggested is not going to help their situations and it hasn't for the decades they've been doin' it" most people don't see big picture. It will be a difficult, if not impossible, road to to make a bandaid stick without stapling it with knives and bloody glue. I will support you in any possible way i can. It is a noble cause. After starting this guild I've actually become a lot more interested in politics. In fact, watching T.V. has actually become rather boring compared to working on my political ideas. Soon I'll be able to vote, and play my own small personal part in changing the world. No one listens to a minority though, that's why the goal of this guild is to first get a voice, through numbers and developing our political ideas, opinions, and gathering intellectuals with brilliant ideas and suggestions. That means everyone's opinions though. If I am the only one saying anything the only changes that will happen are the ones I propose, thus if a global government is made it will be flawed and only geared towards my ideals instead of our ideals as a whole. Once we get a voice, then we'll start changing things for *hopefully* the better. However, everyone makes mistakes and while we are still a new group we are bound to make some. We must learn from them though. What I suggest to everyone, is that they learn at least a little about politics and do what they can to participate in their government. (Example: Voting and taking part in political discussions with your friends.)

Amazing Zeezee I did not check to see if someone already asked this question but im going to ask anyways. If you really did become ruler of the world. How would you solve energy problems? First off, I don't plan on being the sole ruler of the world. If you read about what kind of government I was planning on creating, in the "Interested in taking over the world" you would realize it would be lead by 5 people. How I would solve the problems of energy we have, would be to aid the research and development of solar panels and research into being able to store electricity better. That being said, I would reduce the amount of coal and nuclear power plants in the countries under our influence and increase the amount of solar panels, wind mills, and dams.

Adorkable Monster It will be a difficult, if not impossible, road to to make a bandaid stick without stapling it with knives and bloody glue. I agree with this. I don't think I'm being cynical here either. There's a certain amount of unavoidable force involved. There are many places that simply won't cooperate. This kind of thing is likely to start wars. Can you live with the notion that you could be directly responsible for the death of thousands?

Feynzilla This kind of thing is likely to start wars. Can you live with the notion that you could be directly responsible for the death of thousands? That's not an easy question, but I'm glad you brought it up. I wouldn't be happy about it, but I believe in the goals of this guild. I wouldn't want anyone who didn't believe in my ideals and beliefs, to die for them. So I wouldn't send anyone to fight, just because I manipulated them into it. It would have to be their choice. They would get paid to fight, and if they died they would be remembered forever because I would get their names before they left and I would make a monument to their sacrifices. Both for the ones who made it back, and the ones who didn't. I personally, would bear the burden and always keep in mind that the reason we got where we were was because of them. I would think about them every night, before I eventually join them.

The Masked Swordsman They would get paid to fight, Have you yet thought about and planned on ways to procure funds for your cause? Because the cost of training and then payments...tallies up. If I am thinking correctly, our own countries American soldiers...aren't payed so much. Once they are back from duty, they have to go almost immediately back into the work force to support their families. Mostly, they are payed in perks, the most often advertised being of the intangible nature. Education, scholarships, and more are given away to those who sign up. It's not a perfect system, but if you are looking at finding a utopic system, then you will have to look at and adapt this system as well.

But now that I think about it, it is ignorant to talk about money that we do not yet have. So therefore, we will not talk about paying troops and soldiers until we start a WDS treasury. Back to plans on procuring funds. First off, I am personally going to get into investing into stocks for the guild on the side. When I get enough, I will start up a bank account for the guild. So whoever wishes to donate to the guild will send it to the account. The account will be closely monitored by the guild accountant as well as me to prevent transactions that are *Not Guild Related*! Any other ideas that guild members might have are welcome. smile
