I'm an avid fan of fanfiction, but this isn't going on that board because (A.) i'm not advertising original content and (B.) it's a general question with fanfiction as the medium. The question is:
Who, out of most fanfictions, do you consider to be the MOST abused femslash/yuri/shoujo-ai pairing ever? Include crossovers if you want.
As for me, if I see another Sakura/Ino pairing, I'm going to Burger King with a pick axe.

XD I dunno, I don't think I ever get tired of any pairings--even if I don't like the pairing, I just kind of ignore it.
This is the right forum for the thread, though. I'm sorry I don't remember any overused pairings at the moment, but I will agree that Sakura/Ino is very common. Then again, it does set itself up as a fab pairing. XD

...I wonder if canon pairings get more love/overuse than other pairings? I mean, I can see it as more likely to happen then?

Xena and Gabrielle from Xena: Warrior Princess.
For crying out loud, the subtext is so heavy, like gargantuanly heavy, that it may as well be canon.
And for those sporting yuri-goggles, it is canon -- myself included. d:

Kim/Shego. Also, Starfire/Raven and Ginny/Luna.
In the Azumanga Daioh fandom, Tomo/Yomi is somehow extremely popular...(I still don't understand the appeal in this pairing, but whatever.). So is Kaorin/Sakaki.Dx
Now, if I were to venture into the land of Het, THE most abused Pokemon ships are without a doubt Ash/Misty, Ash/May, and Ash/Everyone. Why is Ash such a pimp? Also, Drew/May.

For one; They're attractively drawn women in sailor suits.
It was bound to happen.
Two; There is an actual lesbian pairing in the show, which probably acted as a catalyst to spark more fan made ones.
Some of the most common pairs:
*Sailor Uranus/Sailor Neptune
*Tifa/Aerith
*Sakura/Tomo
Sakura/Ino
Sasuke/Naru
Starfire/Raven
Those are some of the main offenders. Neptune/Uranus is a given, though. They're lovers in the show so of course people would obsess over it.
The creator herself had said that Uranus and Neptune were lovers.[url=http://members.tripod.com/hawks_eye/proof.html]Source[/url] The most recent confirmation by Takeuchi-san was at the San Diego Comic-Con this year. Paraphrased, she stated that 'Haruka is masculine while Michiru is feminine, so it's only natural that they would fall in love.' An article was also printed in the Italian magazine called Kappa confirming this.

Love, love, love each character by themselves or with most other chars, but I have ready too many that just made my eyes bleed because of the poor plot or massive OOC-ness. XD
