Name: Kalil Age: 26 Gender: Male Height: 5'9 Weight: 160
Occupation: Assassin Skills: Archery, Blade Expert, Long Jumper, Accelerates in straight lines Weapons of Choice: Scimitar, Hidden Blade, Shortbow
Physical Description: He wears a white shirt with white pants, which from there his armor comes in. His legs are covered by both leather boots and full greaves, leaving his thighs unprotected. On his left hip, a curved, thick scimitar hung within a blade-covering sheath, exposing the flat of the back of the blade. Slung across the back of his waistline, in a bow-sheath, is a cavalier's short bow, a small collection of twenty arrows strung along his left hip in a tightly-coiled band. His hidden blade, fixed along his left forearm like others, extends into a leather gauntlet, the same effect obvious on his other arm, except the gauntlet holding steel and his forearm covered by a steel vambrace. His hood had been cut off long ago, now a chainmail hood taking its place, sewn to the cloth with thick bands of string to better hold the weighted piece down. On his torso, he carried a light-weighted steel cuirass, a thin-layered hauberk
Personality: The kind of man to challenge others to a race, he had a very sporty attitude, no matter in what area it was in. If it was between who could kill their target first, he normally carried a cheerful attitude, bragging at feats such as aerial assassinations or single-handedly fighting off four guards. Although he was cocky of his skill, he held a rather lazy look at life, always wanting the "safer" way, even if it meant taking a longer path. While in combat, though, he seems to come alive, taunting his foes on a common basis to try and get them to show him a challenge, as his training was specialized in blade combat, rather than with the hidden blade.
History: Born under the night sky in the town of Damascus, his mother held the title of an Assassin, serving under Al-Mualim as one of his more elite fighters, though she met an early death to a Templar hunter, only in time to give birth, in secret, to Kalil. At the death of his mother, Kalil was recovered by the Assassin's Order, where he would no longer be able to see his father, but would be trained to fight like his mother had in the ways of assassination. As the years passed, however, they found he had a similar ability to his mother; a love for the blade. When Al-Mualim met him, he found the boy to have unexpected skill with it, that, while one teacher was holding back, was disarmed by the student.
Years passed, until another specific point in his life arrived. Once he had turned eight-teen, he was deemed ready to join as a fully-fledged member, though new, of the Assassin Order. Once his finger had been removed and treated, they secured his Hidden Blade in place, where he would further train, assigned to better his skills even more. During the next two years, he would learn techniques of assassination, such as the Sprinting Pounce, Falling Strike, and the Running Grab-to-Floor assassination. Although he had completed his training, he didn't find the time to get sent off, instead being taught archery, despite his dislike or ranged strikes, and being taught to perfect it. Despite his huge dislike for the use of arrows, as he said they were, "Disrespectful and held no honor", he became a fairly accurate shot, able to hit a target at sixty yards from almost any angle. Almost eight years had passed before he was tasked with leaving the fortress, told that his blade was needed among his fellow assassins. Staying his blade, he made ready to leave, taking his mother's well-preserved scimitar and his own shortbow with a supply of arrows.

It is a shame that half of everyone I saw that actively posts is a a teen/pre-teen/18-20. Very few people appear over any legal age marked today. Thank god we aren't modern assasssins crying

Times were very different back then though you have to remember, girls were often married off at the age of at least 14 and the expected lifetime was only about 40-50. It does knid of bother me having female Guards and Assassin's though because of the cultural setting that would NEVER happen especially in that time period.

No Female Assassins? Lie: In AC2, multiple assassins were known from FAR earlier than AC1. Such as an assassin who killed Cleopatra, who, indeed, was female. But men? Even then, they wouldn't be trained killers with hardened instincts at the age of 14. Maybe at 16-18. Look at Altair. If you were aiming to be like him, note that an assassin on Altair's level was one in their 20s-30s.
It may not include guards, but if a female proved capable, they could have easily become assassins.

Indeed it would not have been common to see female assassins or guards, but we can't all be historically accurate. In fact the first Assassin's Creed has the female templar who steps in as a fake Robert de Sable near the end of the game (yay, for finding that out yesterday). As for young assassins, the men were usually considered adults by 16 and females had very little chance at being anything more than a wife, maid, or nun. Dudes had it easy. I've been trying to keep the guild fairly historically acceptable like keeping out any modernized weaponry and slang but I don't think we can restrict creative license in character creation by too much. If I see a 14 year old assassin I will be highly suspicious however...
Dude, we should start a thread in the discussions subforum for historical accuracy comments, I'd love to go on these tangents more.

I know what you mean. But hey, it's a game right? Just saw the opportunity to dicuss some history. (LOVE IT) anyway, great character. A little contradictory but hey, awesome.
