I don't know if this is in the right place (forgive me if it isn't, I'm new) but I'm looking for some new manga. I'm going to the shops today, so quick responses would be nice. I made a thread in the manga subforum of gaia's forums, but I was ignored... haha. 'Nyways, here's in quotes what I wrote.
"I'm currently really into yuri. But I also like manga with some childish/funny aspects. Fantasy is nice sometimes, as long as its got female characters.
Here's a list of manga/anime I really enjoy, and maybe you could give me an idea of some new books to try: +Anima Chrono Crusade Zatch Bell Strawberry Panic Yokaiden Excel Saga Pokemon (season 1) Slayers Yotsuba
Things I'm NOT into: Uber mainstream things like Death Note Gorey things like Higurashi Sugar-love-pop-hurricane-things...
Please help me out, I'm going to the shops today.
Thanks, Rat"
Thank you... hopefully you'll be a bit more helpful. wink razz

Perhaps you could try the Wallflower. It may seem strange at first, but it's a good manga. It doesn't have any yuri, but if you like funny things, you should check it out.
It's about this girl named Sunako Nakahara living with four attractive men. These men have to turn her into the perfect lady. If they do that, they won't have to pay rent. However, it's difficult, because Sunako is into horror and stuff. I believe the guys have their rent tripled if they fail, but I'm not sure.
There is no gore in it and it isn't creepy at all. I hope you'll find it interesting.

One series I really enjoy is Loveless. It is more yaoi than yuri, but there are a couple yuri pairings, and the characters look adorable^_^

All righty, I'll be sure to have a look at those two.
I know I've heard of Loveless, because one of my best friends really likes it, but I haven't heard of the first one.
Thanks a million. wink

AzuManga Daioh is by the same author as Yotsuba&!, and it was recently re-released as a single-volume omnibus. The yuri's all one-sided, but it's a great series regardless.
I've only read the first volume of Hayate X Blade, but I've seen more than a few yuri fans talking about how great it is. I figure it's worth a mention.
I'm not sure that volume 2 will ever be published, but the first volume of Iono-Sama Fanatics was hilarious. The main character's a lesbian queen that's trying to recruit new sobame, so the yuri factor is fairly high.

One anime I thought was really good was Kannazuki no Miko. It is pretty good but when it comes to the greatest of all yuri animes Strawberry Panic! beats them all out. I know that you have already watched it. But when in doubt I would consider watching it again. I always find new things that I didn't see when I watched it for the first time.

I'd suggest PhD Phantasy Degree, Hyper Police, Gunsmith Cats, and Dorothy of OZ.
