 A windy desert situated near Mauville and Mt. Chimney, the desert in Hoenn is home to some of the hardier types of Pokemon. There are rumors of a group of ruins found in the middle of the desert, but constant sandstorms and harsh heat could mean that this is only a mirage... Pokemon Appearances: 4 posts, then roll a 4-sided dice: 1= Sandshrew 2= Trapinch 3= Cacnea 4= Baltoy The level will be determined in the next post of battle, by rolling 1 4-sided dice again, this time the corresponding number will be the level. 1=Lv. 16 2=Lv. 17 3=Lv. 18 4=Lv. 19

A keening wail fills the air suddenly, the desert winds whipping up into a howling sandstorm, as a red glow fills the area in the middle of the desert. Ruin-hunters and brave trainers alike seek shelter where they can while the sandstorm whirls, churning up a ferocity that has never been seen or recorded thus far.
After several dangerous hours, the sandstorm ceases, as one by one, trainers emerge, talking quietly amongst themselves. All falls silent, however, as they stop, looking out into the desert.
In the heat of the sandy Hoenn Desert, it is common to see mirages. Tantalizing images of water for the thirsty, even a fabled tower said to emerge for those who are lucky enough to spot it.
However, there was either mass-induced hallucinations in Hoenn Desert, or there was suddenly a lake sitting in the middle of the sandy dunes...

Julian arrived in the desert and was shocked by what he saw. "What the hell is a lake doing in the middle of the desert? I've heard of an oasis but this seems a little ridiculous." He said with a shake of his head. He couldn't see anyone around as he walked, which made him a bit worried. What could possibly be in a place like this that could help them against Lance? With that thought in his mind the purple haired trained began searching for this so-called 'gift'.

Julian had been walking through the desert, searching around the various ruins and the ever present sand dunes, for whatever it was he was supposed to find here. The sun was beating down on him with an intense heat that burned his skin and warmed his scales uncomfortably. Julian found some shade behind a large boulder and sat with his back to it. The boy took a bottle of water from his backpack and sipped from it slowly, trying to rehydrate himself. "How am I ever going to find anything with all this sand around here." He asked himself through mouthfuls of water. After a few minutes of resting Julian stood up again and was about to renew his search when he thought of an idea. He grabbed a pokeball from around his waist and sent out Tori.
The bird pokemon wasn't happy about being called out in such a harsh environment, and glared at Julian. The hybrid smiled at her apologetically. "I'm sorry girl, but I think this might be important and I can't search by myself. Do you think you could create some low level wind to blow away some of the sand so that we can search under these dunes?" He asked hopefully. Tori looked for a moment as if she were going to protest but then took into the air and began flapping her wings powerfully, sending the sand around them away in waves.

The sands around Julian shifted, as a crocodile-like Pokemon emerged from the desert, facing Julian. The croc offered a toothy grin, showing he wasn't aggressive. Instead, the sand Pokemon vanished under the sands once again, to emerge a moment later, something grasped gently in its teeth. This he offered to Julian with a call of "Rokooo!" {{+2 levels to each Pokemon in Julian's party.
One shiny fossil, rock, or ground type Pokemon of your choice.

Julian was shocked when the strange pokemon appeared and then gave him the talisman. "What the?" He said as he carefully took the trinket and put it in his bag. He then took out his pokedex and tried to identify the pokemon, but the dex came up empty. "Hmm, are you a lost species little buddy?" Julian asked with a smile as he returned Tori to her pokeball and then knelt down beside the new pokemon. He patted it's head gently. "I don't imagine yo could give me any clue what to do with this can you?" He asked with a sigh.

After getting no response from the strange pokemon Julian sighed and reached into his bag, grabbing a pokeball. He was about to toss it at the lizard pokemon but stopped when he saw the pokemon look at him worriedly. "Okay, I won't try to catch you, so have fun here okay." He chuckled softly and put the empty pokeball away before turning away from the lost pokemon.
Before leaving Julian took the winged amulet from his backpack and looped it around his neck. "I hope this trinket was worth all the trouble." He muttered softly to himself. The hybrid then sent out Tori and smiled apologetically. "I know I've been using you for travel a lot, but this really is the fastest way and I need to get there quickly. So, Pewter, please?" Tori looked at Julian for a moment and then bowed her head so he could get on her back. He quickly hopped on her back and they flew towards the Kanto region.

Bagon stepped foreword to take on the Baltoy. Bagon used Dragon claw and baltoy countered with a mud slap. Bagon hit it with one more dragon claw before Isamu threw a pokeball at it. (roll was 4, 3) As Isamu was walking, another Baltoy rose from the sand. Isamu called up Vulpix to take care of this one. Vulpix hit it with flamethrower while Baltoy countered with Psybeam.
