Decepticons
Long ago, in a fair and beautiful valley on the border of Northern and Mountain dragon territories, lived a peaceful group of dragons. The Valley of Primus was so large and the food so plentiful that there was no need to go anywhere else. But nothing can stay the same forever. The food began to run out and, at a great gathering of the residents of the valley, they tried to come up with a solution.

One proud, arrogant dragon named Megatron stood up and spoke of a bold new future for the Dragons of Primus. They could go out and conquer other packs, enslaving the dragons and hunting on their lands. After all, they were the largest pack in the area—their need was far greater than their puny neighbors’. Many dragons murmured in agreement; his argument made sense, and drastic times called for drastic measures.

A dragon of noble birth, Optimus Prime, swiftly stood up and spoke out to his people. He reminded them that just because they were larger didn’t mean they were better; that if there were a larger pack trying to conquer them, it would not make it right. He asked them to think of the good of the maximum number of packs.

Argument broke out almost instantly. Brothers turned on sisters, children on parents. So great was the rift between the opinions that fighting broke out just a few hours later. Optimus and Megatron urged their sides to fight. Thinking quickly, Optimus ordered the dragons who agreed with him to chase the dragons who agreed with Megatron out of the valley. He would not allow such “evil” dragons to remain. When they had been banished, he re-formed the pack and gave it a new name: the Maximals.

Megatron’s dragons scattered quickly in their flight; it was weeks before they could regroup. When they did, Megatron boldly laid out the plans for a new pack: the Decepticons. They would deceive their targets into believing that they were friendly or weak. Then, when they least expected it, they would turn on their victims. They agreed, and the pack was formed. They wandered across the land, wiping out other packs, staying in one place until they felt the need to go on. A warlike pack, one that could not be easily stopped.

Until that fateful day that Optimus heard news of Megatron’s whereabouts. He sent a patrol of his greatest Maximal warriors out to once more scatter the Decepticons. A swift and decisive battle ensued, and once more, the Maximals were victorious. The Decepticons were scattered again. Megatron was left with only one of his dragons: Starscream, his second-in-command, who was well known for his traitorous nature. Starscream showed his treachery nature when he led his leader into a dangerous area, then left him for the fury of a bunch of rabid squirrels.

Now the Decepticons are uniting again under the leadership of a, hopefully, more competent leader. With Megatron out of the way, it is suspected that the focus will switch more to expanding the pack rather than going on a willy-nilly rampage across the mountains. All hail our Grand and Glorious Leader, Starscream!

Ranks
There are three types of ranks among the Decepticons—command ranks, combat ranks, and civilian ranks. A dragon may hold one of each at most. Some hold only one rank; others two or three. It depends on what the dragon wishes to do.

Command Ranksonly one person per Command Rank; they must be earned
Commanderour Grand and Glorious leader. The leader and head tactician, coordinator of the attacks and final say in every matter. Commands the soldiers.
Second-in-Commandthe dragon who will take command upon the death and/or incapacitation of our Grand and Glorious Leader. Seconds-in-Command may also be a Wind Commander or Base Commander as well, as this is less of a job and more of a title. The rank is usually an earned one.
Wind Commanderthe commander of the Seekers (see below); must be a Seeker
Base Commanderin charge of the base during battle

Combat Ranks
SeekerDecepticon scouts known for their skill in combat and their speed; most have a pattern similar to Starscream’s
Communicatordragons who communicate through various ways—usually through wild animal pets—between different factions during or before battles
Soldierthe average fighter of the Decepticons. Not much to say here.
Healerheals the rest of the pack using conventional methods—that is to say, herbs, barks, splints, and the like. This is a full time job and cannot be combined with any other rank.

Civilian Ranks
Researcherindividuals who observe the world and draw conclusions about it—scientists, in other wordsp
Teachercombination teacher and babysitter who takes care of babies after they hatch; usually not paired with a combat rank
Hunterexactly what it says on the tin. Quite common, as you might imagine
Femmespregnant females
Branderdragons with a magic that allows them to “brand” other dragons with a mark that not only can be seen with the naked eye, but can also be detected by branders. The magic is very rare and is peculiar to the Primus Valley—only dragons born there can get the magic. No one is sure why—the more religious Decepticons believe that it is surely a sign that Primus himself forms the Primus Valley, but most researchers are determined to figure out the “scientific” cause of it. (None of them realize it, but a long ago Guardian placed the spell on the valley that causes some dragons to be branders.) Megatron was himself a brander.
Sludgea newcomer to the pack (plural: sludgies)

Young Dragonsthe particular names used by most Primus dragons
Hatchlinga baby/infant dragon (first stage after egg)
Sparklinga child dragon (second stage after egg); so named for their exuberant energy
Younglinga teen dragon (stage before adult); at this point, they start getting their training

Ceremonies
There are two main ceremonies among the Decepticons—other than that, all matters are either very private or so violent they don’t need ceremony.
Brandingwhen either a) a dragon comes of age or b) a dragon wishes to join the pack, all of the Decepticons gather together as the new members swear an oath of allegiance to the Commander. Then a brander steps forward and brands the Decepticon symbol on the pad of their left front paw. From that moment on, they are awarded a civilian and a combat rank (command ranks must be earned, of course).

Sludge: [Repeats the oath] I pledge my unquestioning loyalty to [Commander's name] and the Decepticon cause. I will devote my spark to achieving our goal of a Decepticon-controlled Primus Valley by any means necessary. And annihilate all who have driven us from our rightful home. Surrender is not an option.”

Commander: Welcome, brave Decepticons—your destiny awaits. Rise up and serve your new master!

Brander: [Does their thing]

Hatchingall eggs are laid in the same place. The mother (or more feminine father) and one of the Teachers lay the hatching spell on the eggs and the parent resumes active duty. From that moment on, the eggs are cared for by the Teachers. When they hatch, the parents are brought to the eggs to visit with their children in an informal ceremony.

Life Among the Decepticons
In any new area, the Decepticons establish a “base”—usually a small valley outside any territory with a water source and a cave roomy enough for several clutches of eggs as well as most of the higher ranking members of the pack in case of bad weather. They will usually set up a base if there is a need to stop due to injury or a femme needing a place to lay her eggs. They will stay there until the rest of the pack can move. Any abandoned eggs that are found are usually adopted by the pack.

(This was not the case during Megatron’s reign; he was more concerned with conquests and insisted they kept moving.)

Eggs are guarded by teachers—who have some combat training. Hatchlings and Sparklings remain in the care of the teachers, who feed them and give them history lessons and science lessons (from what they themselves learn from the researchers). Younglings are trained in their future ranks by the holders of the ranks they wish to fulfill (Seekers are trained by Seekers, teachers by teachers, etc.).

When another pack is found that the Commander sees fit to attack, a few dragons, usually Seekers, are sent in to scout out the other pack, pretending they need help or posing as friends. Or they might form a pact then break it violently, scattering the enemy pack and moving into their territory for a while before continuing on their way when the prey starts to run out. The Decepticons usually also try to recruit members of the other pack.

There are very few rules about romance—basically, the biggest rule is don’t mate with a member of another pack. Especially a Maximal! If a homosexual couple needs to visit a Guardian to have children, they must first attain permission from the Commander. They are then sent out with a soldier escort to protect them and ensure they and their children return safely.

Once a dragon joins the Decepticons, leaving is very difficult. One must either be banished—and thus be treated as an enemy of the rest of the pack—or very, very, very fast to escape the rest of the pack.

Joining the Pack
As you probably figured out by now, this pack is based on Transformers. OCs, characters from any continuity, and the children of OCs are considered to be Primus-pure. I am more than willing to color any Transformer (yes. Even a Bayverse Transformer [SHUDDER]) for half the standard custom price (though keep in mind, I don’t really do edits). Due to the limits of the Taken Name’s List, there can only be one of every character. For example, there cannot be both a G1 Starscream and a Bayverse Starscream (which would be very frightening anyway!).

*All Predacons have been reserved for a future event!

We will be accepting other dragons however—after all, we’ll always be needing new blood, and there has to be some pack for the psycho crazies who want to fight!

All Hail Lord Megatron Starscream!
Name: Zephyr
Username: kitsune_reflection
Primus-Pure?: You mean old blood? Ha, no!
Combat Rank: Soldier. I'd say Seeker, but he's too unstable and too green (metaphorically and literally).
Civilian Rank: Sludge
Tell us some more!: He doesn't remember much of his past. Everything's scrambled, mixed up. Arbre, the Mountain Road? Gone. Stalking and killing Abalis and Anbre's parents? Also gone. Having a son named Harar? Mostly gone, sometimes he almost remembers.

He's a mess, he can barely look after himself. He's unstable, violent... but he's also childish, hopeless. He desperately needs somebody to help put the pieces back together, to give him a new purpose. A reason to hold it together, a new personality. At this point he'll believe just about anything he's told, so make it good. This is his fresh start.

Oh, the old Zephyr will still be there, deep down. Waiting. But maybe, just maybe he'll learn to control it. Just maybe he won't try to kill everyone.

Maybe.
Planning to try for a Command Rank?: Oh god no.

Evil friends who want to use him to beat the slag out of other people! 8D (Actually, this sort of reminds me of the TFA Constructicons xD)

He'll be like a pathetically grateful kicked puppy around them.

They'd better be careful though; I intend to put him through some serious plot and character development, good or bad. So he'll either develop a conscious, have a psychotic breakdown, or stay around forever and be a good little 'con.

... possibly all three. x3

But it'd be kind of neat if he ended up getting a girl pregnant and died while trying to save somebody or some such. And then finally healed/grew well as a ghost. Ooh! He could follow Sitara around and she could be a total jerk to him.

... you should custom that Guardian Ghost so when Zephyr dies he can go talk to him and be an adorable sidekick. 8D

... I can't believe I just called Zephyr "adorable." >>

You mean the one that cast the spell on the valley? xDD I think you should custom him/her--seeing as it was your idea xD

Okay. It'd be more fun to RP with another person, but that lets me RP them as a neat little duo. And the Guardian Ghost will be all "Why me? gonk " and then Zephyr will try to kill him and then the Guardian Ghost will be all "Dude, we've been over this. Killing people is bad." and Zephyr will be all "Sorry, sorry! D: D: D:" and the Guardian Ghost will be all "It's okay, I'm already dead."
