I'm not here to sign up but rather to state something about the rp which I feel is a very strong failing, and I didn't want to prematurely clutter up this forum by making a new thread.
Having a state for an arbitrary part of your character's personality (Bravery) is bullshit.

In actuality however, it's anything but 'arbitrary', it dictates the character's ability to face/obtain certain dream creatures.

It's not the fact that the stat doesn't do anything that annoys me about it. It's the fact that you're assigning an aspect of the character's personality a number value.
In every rp I've been in where it does that, it bugs me. Okay, yeah, I'll roll dice to figure out what my strength is. That's partially random. Genetics can influence that, and it'll influence things like constitution or your natural speed. Things that are an aspect of your personality though are just...they shouldn't be predefined. A character could be the strongest guy in the world, but be afraid of the smallest bee. That's great. There shouldn't be a stat to represent his fear.
Players should know what their characters are afraid of. Players should know how their characters react in a situation. You wouldn't have a Sense of Humor stat, or a Work Ethic stat. They're all aspects of a character's personality, which a player should be able to determine without some number. Putting in a number detracts from the experience.
To be more specific, the only thing you're using it for (if memory serves - it's a lengthy read) other than facing dream creatures (which again can be done by logic - if some guy who's got nothing but a few Wellisks sees a Cawh rise out of the deep below him, it's not like he would stick around) is to determine if you can tame those creatures. Which is completely unrelated to how brave you are. You can be the most gung-ho, let's-go-get-them dude in the world. That doesn't mean you're good with animals.

Being good with animals is what the Taming Level does, being able to face them in the first place is your bravery. It also serves as the desperate, final attempt roll if your character ******** something up big-time. It is related to a character's natural disposition, but it's not a fixed characteristic. Bravery can be acquired, or worked for. Either way, it's not like I'm going to change my entire game- one that's worked well for a year- for one person. If you have any other questions or complaints feel free to PM me.

I have a question. How rigid are the rules here? Like, for instance, is this going to be run out of D&D where EVERYTHING requires dice roll, or is there going to be an amount of give for automatic action because of the difference of online play?
Also, is this going to be a group thing or are we all going to have our own sub-storyline?

Swordoath Omega I have a question. How rigid are the rules here? Like, for instance, is this going to be run out of D&D where EVERYTHING requires dice roll, or is there going to be an amount of give for automatic action because of the difference of online play? Also, is this going to be a group thing or are we all going to have our own sub-storyline? It's kind of a mix between the strict, named rules and lenient forum-play, mostly out of necessity. I hate to think of people running rampant with uber-badass characters and destroying other peoples' wills to play the game, but I also dislike the idea of D&D's lack of freedom. As for the group-thing, I'll try to clump together those who want to be clumped, but it's really hard to feel like you have any liberty when you're stuck with a band and a predetermined course objective. I think it would be really cool to RP people individually, but since that requires more story-tellers, I'm going to have sway Kain into giving me a hand, since he's been playing for a while and is familiar with the rules.

I'll apply even though I know I'll eventually start to pick this thing apart bit by bit. [looks at penned over print-out] I'm not saying it is supposed to be perfect and I'm not saying that it is flawed beyond repair, but I'm just seeing things that look like they could be omitted for sake of smoothness of play.
'Less Roll, more Role' and all.
I'm pretty sure you still have my email, right?

Though I agree with Symphonie on the hating having something that's part of a characters Personality, having a numerical stat (Which is better for Physical stats), I'll give this a shot out of total boredum/randomness, whatever...
