Basic Training (reference)It was the beginning of a new day out in the wasteland. The sun had just begun to peek out over the horizon. A Brotherhood of Steel soldier, a veteran of many battles, descended down the steps into the training bunker. This bunker was set aside for training before the plunge of an initiate, through the use of an obstacle course. This already fine soldier had already earned his name in the field, but he showed up anyways. He was issued down a long corridor into the dim illumination, ending up in a small room with a metal door. In front of that door was his tester, a former comrade. Azure stood there in the armor of a Knight, a suit of combat armor that had been modified to provide better protection, stained in a dark gray. The Knight's helmet was off, golden hair cascaded from his head like straw. His eyes were also golden, like a cat. Azure looked questioningly at Mark. "I heard another soldier wanted to test... but why are you taking the training?"Azure's relatively calm voice echoed throughout the corridor, with a hint of questioning unease. azureink Objective 1: Character Introduction. Please introduce your character in a post (minimum one paragraph). In your introduction, please describe any physical traits or mental quirks that your character has, the equipment they wear/use, and anything else you believe should be known about your character. The more descriptive you are, the easier it is for you and others to understand and visualize your character.

Walking down the hall way a wash of training memories from he had been in this same location only a few years ago. However these memories all soon evaporated as he approached the lone figure standing at the end of the hallway.
The dim lighting in corridor lite the way, his footsteps falling heavily and softly due to his cybernetic augmentation, however the sound was only barely noticeable since Mark had spent plenty of time training his new limbs to be fluid in motion, and to not give him away in stealth based operations. The dim yellow lighting displayed his dress attire, standard issue digital camouflage uniform, black steel toe boots, and a MP utility belt consisting of an empty holster for where a standard issue 9mm would normally be. The fatigues had been recently cleaned and were still crisp, his rank insignia reflected what light hit the polished piece of metal.
Marks physeek was astounding, his sleeves had been rolled up just below his well toned biceps, however under this synthetic skin was a well made and custom designed cybernetic arm developed by himself and Alex some time back. A noticeable scar rand down over Marks right eye starting from the eye brow and running down his cheek. This was Marks most memorable scars that he can remember, much else before reviving the scar still remains a mystery to himself and other members in the brotherhood. This hardened brotherhood officer had seen much in his short time with the brotherhood but nothing would shake his determination of dedication to the brotherhood.
Now only a mere five feet away from his training officer Mark stopped, and came to the position of attention. Snapping his right hand up from his side, Mark gave a crisp salute to the Knight. "This Brotherhood soldier believes that undergoing recruit training will help refresh his basic skills and fundamental understandings of what it's like to be back at the bottom of the food chain," he said as he awaited a return salute.

Azure returned the salute. "I guess you would need to keep your skills sharp with all those close calls over the years."The instructor's hand came down and he turned to the door. It opened and he ushered the Brotherhood soldier down a short corridor and into another room. Some straw-stuffed, burlap sack dummies stood around on metal poles. One such dummy stood off to the right, three more stood across the room, where a white firing-line was drawn on the ground several meters from them. Weapon lockers and ammo boxes lined the sides of the room where the dummies weren't. "Let's see what you remember about melee combat, using this dummy."Knight Azure said as he pointed to the lone dummy nearby. azureink Objective 2: Basic Combat.Basic Combat is divided into three sections: unarmed/melee combat, firearms, and throwing (usually grenades). 1) Unarmed/Melee Combat. In another post (minimum three sentences), approach the straw dummy provided, and strike it with either unarmed attacks or a melee weapon (you may use any Initiate ranked unarmed or melee weapon of your choice).

Lowering his hand after receiving his return salute Mark relaxed a bit, and listened to what Knight Azure had to say. Nodding at the Knights response Mark responded, "Yes, to many to much. Just as a heads up i'm going to reviewing my training footage after this to see what i need to improve on." he said following him in.
The all to familiar room of training dummies that lined the wall, along with the old beat up weapons lockers from when he first joined several years ago. Mark followed behind before Azure made the request to refresh his melee combat abilities. Mark smirked as he walked past Azure and towards the lone dummy. Memories of intimidation along with nervousness came back to him, Mark took in a small breath and stopped approximately five feet away, more than an arms length.
Mark drew his standard issue K-bar from his right boot. Giving the blade a small flip he caught the knife by the tip and no sooner had he caught it, had the bade been hurled at the dummy. The seven inch blade flew into what would be the left lung of the dummy. However Mark was not complete with his take down, no sooner had the blade left his hand the Paladin charged the dummy, side stepping to the dummies right, and getting behind it. Lifting his left arm he brought it around and under the dummies left shoulder hoisting up it's arm followed by covering the stitching of where the mouth would be. Reaching around Mark grabbed his blade by the hilt and removed it from the dummy, only to bring it back around to the back of the dummy, where Mark stabbed in a upwards motion several times into what would be the kidney.
Mark finished with a twisting of the dummies neck which popped a few of the stitchings off. Letting out a small sigh Mark removed his hand from the dummies mouth and let the straw filled arm fall back to its side. Mark placed his K-bar back into it's sheath in his right boot, before approaching Azure.
"That got the blood pumping," he said with a small smirk, as he awaited his next order of business.

"And you thought you needed practice."Azure remarked before he motioned with his hand to bring Mark over to the firing line. A table sat off to the side with an assortment of smallarms. Pistols to hunting rifles adorned the surface of the table. "Now let's see if you remember how to shoot."Azure said with a smirk, as if he made a humorous quip at Mark's expense. azureink Objective 2: Basic Combat.2) Firearms. In your next post (minimum three sentences), approach the firing line, and take aim at any of the three straw dummies provided (you may use any Initiate ranked firearm of your choice; if you choose a basic firearm without the burst feature, you will need to requisition one that does have that feature for the second part of this training exercise). First, fire some single rounds into the dummy(ies) of your choice. After that, you will switch to burst-fire mode and mow down a dummy of your choice.

"And you thought you needed practice."
Mark smirked at the mention of this, "Your forget i'm the top melee combatant on the entire base next to Alex when she was here... the only other person that might fair against me, is you" he said as he walked over to the weapons table holding an assortment of small arms and other equipment used by initiate ranked soldiers.
Upon reaching the table Mark looked over the wide variety of hand guns, rifles, and shotguns. Mark decided to start off easy picking up a standard issue 9mm Barreta. Placing on his protective ear muffs he readied himself. Picking up the weapon he fort got how light it was with it's fifteen round magazine of 9mm hollow point rounds instead of his standard .50 Desert eagle. Grabbing a stocked magazine from a small container he slammed the clip into the weapon and reflexively pull back the loading bay regardless of it's semi-automatic capability. A round was ejected from the chamber and flew off to his right, a small clatter followed by a rolling sound as it hit the floor just a second later. Mark took a quick stance, placing his left foot forward and placing his right foot behind him bracing himself regardless of the recoil given by the weapon. Quickly aiming down the iron sights he pulled the trigger. The crack from the weapon was almost deafening in this small room without ear protection, the first round left the chamber flying out the barrel and downrange towards the dummy, it's 9mm hollow point impacting the bulls-eye in the head of the dummy. Quickly but steadily Mark adjusted his aim 15° and pulled the trigger two more times, the first round left the barrel aimed now for the center mass of the dummy. The round striking the right shoulder region of the dummy, straw seemed to exploded out the back as the hollow point fragmented and then left through the back of the dummy. The second round which was fired within an eighth of a second after the first penetrated the center of the chest of the potato sack dummy.
Mark looked at the dummy in disgust, along with himself. "That was shitty with that second shot, not used to such a light weight weapon that i over compensated with the recoil and ******** up on that second shot" he said as he ejected the last round in the weapon before placing it back down in it's home location on the table. before picking up a classic sub machine gun, the H&K MP5.
Picking up the small arm with one hand Mark held it, getting friendly with the weapon so he would remember the recoil of the weapon and be able to perform more efficiently. Grabbing a magazine from the small ammunition box Mark loaded the weapon, a round being fed into the chamber before Mark pulled back the housing chamber and ejected the first round. Bringing the weapon up and placing snugly against his shoulder he set the fire setting to single fire mode. Pulling the trigger the SMG kicked back, the recoil being absorbed into Marks arm, before it repeated the same cycle twice more as the weapon kicked back. The round impacted the straw stuff potato sacks, their small rounds colliding and then embedding themselves in the more densely packed dummy. Mark let out a sigh as the rounds all landed within at least within a three inch vicinity of the first shot. Mark flipped the weapons fire switch the burst then pulled the trigger. the three 9mm rounds busted out of the barrel and into the the target.
Mark sighed as the weapon was not his standard used weapon, not enough kick in his eyes. Mark set the MP5 back down onto the table, then reached over to the lovely 12-gauge shotgun sitting so nicely and perfectly in the center of the table. Picking up the weapon Mark felt a drastic weight difference from any of the other weapons. A small grin formed on his face as he reached over to the ammunition container and loaded the shotgun with buckshot rounds. Cocking the weapon and loading the first shell into the chamber Mark brought the weapon up a small smirk appearing on his face before he pulled the trigger.
Buck shot tore threw the straw dummy, leaving a gaping hole in the center mass of the dummy. Another loud boom escaped the weapon as another buckshot round blew into the dummy removing the right arm and part of the head. Mark pumped the weapon loading another shell into the chamber and firing. What little remained of the dummy and it's stand were destroyed and thrown onto the floor.
Ejecting the last shell from the chamber Mark smiled and set the weapon back down on the table, now complete and content with the fire arms course.

Azure smirked at the comment about Mark being the top melee combatant and that Alex was also a strong fighter. He had not really seen Alex in action, but at the same time he hadn't really seen Mark either. However, the people in the Brotherhood he had dealt with so far, the ones who said they could hold their own in a scuffle, couldn't. So Azure had to take Mark's words at face value, with a shaker of salt. At least until Azure could see for himself. Azure watched Mark fire off the firearms. "You seem a little stiff."Azure stated after Mark fire off the H&K MP5. "Don't tell me that, that prosthetic arm of yours can't handle the motions?"He smirked again. Then the Knight pointed to a box of grenades, then to the dying dummies. "Let us see if you can use a grenade without blowing off the other arm."He said with an air of almost chuckling. azureink Objective 2: Basic Combat.3) Throwing. In your third post (minimum three sentences) of the Basic Combat training, you will retrieve a grenade of your choice from the nearby ammo box, and throw it at one of the three straw dummies that inhabit the same area that you used your firearm(s) on. Describe the explosion.

"I'm only stiff cause i'm not used to such little kick from weapons, i've just gotten used to the bigger automatic weapons. Sad i know, but i've just developed that natural use to them" he said following Azure over to the all to familiar crater filled throwing range.
Mark reached his right arm over into the small bin containing several types of grenades. Slowly sifting through the box he found what he was looking for, a Plasma grenade. The slender plastic tubing contained the necessary chemical compounds to create a moderate size quantity of liquid hot plasma that would eat through just about anything. Mark took a look at the distance between himself and the dummies. Rotating his right arm he prepared to throw the grenade.
Taking a few steps back from the safety line Mark pulled the pin, then took two crow steps forward. "PLASMA OUT!" he shouted as a warning to anyone within his area to take cover. The small plastic tubing left Marks right hand and soared through the air, it's casing reflecting the light given off by the courses lighting system. Mark had thrown the grenade high, it went up for two seconds before gravity started to pull it back down. However before colliding with the ground, the grenade exploded premature approximately five feet from the ground, the liquid hot plasma showering over and covering the three straw dummies that stood there. The grenade had been deliberately chucked high to get maximum coverage of it's deadly payload, had the enemy been entrenched they might not have been hit and resumed their assault, oppose to being cover from head to toe in liquid hot plasma, that would start eating away at their bare skin and armor.
"For your information i didn't blow off my arm... Ender did" he said before making his way over to the next course not bothering to get a response from Azure.

Azure shook his head at the last remark. "What the hell was Ender thinking anyways?"He asked no one in particular. "At least I we were there to save you at the last minute."He commented as he followed Mark into an even larger room than the first. This one was dotted with obstacles. Small hills, waist-high walls, oil drums... it looked like a miniature reenactment of the wasteland surrounding the Brotherhood compound. "Well anyways... On the other side of this world is the exit. If you can reach it undetected, we'll know whether your sneaking skills are top notch. If you can't... well, you can't.
Although from personal experience I have already seen you move. You are more than capable. And you have already passed most of the parts that matter, so this is more of a test for formality sake. You can skip this section if you want. I myself never cared to much about stealth. Even though I keep getting assigned to do such.
Did you want to do it anyways?"azureink Objective 3: Stealth. You are ushered into a large square room with many small barricades to hide behind (ranging from boulders to stacks of barrels and crates). You start on one side of the room and the instructor starts at the exit. The objective is for you to make it to the exit without the instructor catching you. The instructor has to hunt you down and can't wait at the exit. This objective will take the form of an rp with many posts (minimum three sentences each for both participants). The objective is completed whether or not you can make it to the exit. The objective is not failed if the instructor catches you... not everyone is born a ghost.
