yeah living without heat and electricity...not that bad really.
And in that sort of situation i'd be rigging my own generator and such.

This assumes you live in a place that's comfortable without some sort of climate control. I assure you that I most certainly do not.

The only cure for heat is a breeze or refrigeration, and it's tough to make either one of those without electricity. Unless you want slaves, then fanning is possible.

I recall some sort of ancient refrigerator. It used evaporation of water to get somewhere around 40°F. It required a small, but steady, breeze. I wish I could find it on google.

You know, electricity is pretty easy to make. Generator + Gasoline = SCIENCE!
And, assuming that this is an apocalyptic scenario, gas is pretty easy to siphon out of cars. xp

people or at least what people are left are going to be killing for gas and fuel, i think i'd rather disassemble the generator and remove the gasoline powered engine in favor of a human powered alternative, or a home made wind turbine would generate a favorable amount of power if you could get it mounted at some sort of reasonable height that it would receive constant wind. In absence of an actual generator with a little knowledge of electronics and automobiles you could easily rig the alternators from cars into small wind powered generator's with a little creativity and some supplies that'd be easily scavenged.
