Though this article is dated on February 18th, 2010, I haven't seen any topic discussion on this little gem. Has anyone read this yet? What are your thoughts?

Personally, and no offense towards those who like Twilight, I didn't think anyone could be that thick in the head. How could this person claim that a remake of the concept of the original Wolfman is a rip-off of a crappy spin on the supernatural that is Twilight? Even more funny is that Stephanie Meyer even wrote in either the last (or second to last) book that the Blacks are in fact not werewolves, but shape shifters!

Also, lol at the quote, "It gives the werewolves a bad name and makes them look like some deformed mutation of a rabid dog. I actually started to like werewolves after seeing Jacob Black and all his awesomeness on the big screen at the movies."

Oh people! They never cease to disappoint.

I know, right? To be fair, this is just one person who wrote that letter so I can't really bash the entire fandom... Okay, well, generally they tend to be lacking in good taste, but that's not the point. So, just attacking this individual, WHERE has she been living? Under a rock? It's just so mind-numbing to think that anyone this this ignorant towards werewolves when, supposedly, OMG she loves them.

    It's so sad. D;

I have a lot of things I can say about the Twilight fan base but I'll let those slid for now and focus on her...SERIOUSLY WTF is wrong with her...Werewolves have been around since at least the 14th century...not sure on the exact date but the point is Twilight did not create them...in fact Twilight couldn't even get vampires right...but again another time another place. This is why I never talked to anybody through out my school career...even into my first semester of collage I still don't talk to anybody unless I'm forced to because all that ever comes out of anybody's mouths these days is compleat and utter idiocy.

Sorry for ranting but...this...blasphmacy just got me going.

No, no, it's fine. :) I understand completely where you come from. Now that I'm in college, thankfully I don't see much of Twilight anymore. However, back in High School, I swear to God that almost every girl that I passed by in the halls was carrying a damn Twilight book! Tons of them would say, "Oh I don't normally like to read, but this is so good!"

Do you know WHY people are able to read this, even when they normally can't? Quick side story aside from this article: One of my older cousin's who has a full-time job and two kids told me one day, "The reason why I love Twilight so much is that you don't have to think while reading it. It's very simple and easy to sink into after a long, stressful day."

tldr; Twilight is empty-headed. Funny, huh?

Which, would make sense, considering the logic this person uses. If they were even such a big fan she should have picked up on the line where it says that the Blacks aren't really werewolves anyways. And yeah, the vampire twist S. Meyer made... I could go on forever. xP This article is pretty much a slap to the face and a piss in the eye. I find it hard to think that anyone is this stupid and white knighting for Twilight. Then again, they even raged against Stephen King.

True collage kids are a bit smarter...however I still hear a lot about Twilight and have the misfortune of sitting in the middle of a twilight fan club it seems, but oh well...I keep them at bay with my cold demener and my quietness.

And I have no idea how anybody anywhere could even pick up a Twilight book...just the very concept made me wanna blow chunks...seriously wth. There are much better books out there to read...and if you don't like to read at least pay attention in school...some teacher at some point is bound to mention the history of horror...seriously.

That's unfortunate. The only wind I catch of it now are from my younger cousins who are in middle school, and, of course, TV. You really hate Twilight, huh? :'D

Lucky you...I also gotta deal with my little sister who thinks it's amazing...she never f'ing stops watching it! If I ever find who gave her the pirated video's I swear I'll kill them... And yes...I hate Twilight with every fiber of my being

I admit, I went to go see the movie to see how it turned out and I read all of the books. However, Twilight was the second movie I ever walked out of. Seriously, it was just SO bad. But, since you have your sister, I'm sure you know that.
PostPosted: Tue Mar 02, 2010 11:41 am

Yea...I've never seen more than a few minutes of it at a time but I don't understand why people would spend money on it...and Twilight was the first book I ever stopped reading part way through, and threw into the fireplace. Might I ask what the first movie you walked out of was?

The Love Guru. That movie was just... *shakes head*

I began reading the Twilight series because my friend mentioned there was a battle between werewolves and vampires. Of course, this sounded cool to me, but it turned out to be far different than what I imagined. :']

I didn't even see that movie...it looked like something that would want people to commit mass suicide really...

I have to admire your resolve for finishing the series though...I almost couldn't finish the Harry Potter series by the end, it had gotten so terrible.

You were right to think so. I went with my friends and brother, and it turns out we ALL wanted to leave earlier than we did, but we were all too afraid to bring it up.

Once I start a series, it bothers me not to finish it. Some plot points had the potential to be seriously entertaining, but Meyer failed miserably at execution. And I've forgotten what the Harry Potter books were like for the most part. Really, I've sort of slipped out of that fandom and don't even bother to watch the movies anymore.

Besides, Harry Dresden > Harry Potter, and I mean the books, not the eye-raping TV series made after it.

Same here...I might one day finish the Twilight series but untill then I shall burn every copy that touches me.

I stopped being a fan of Harry Potter when the third movie came out and just compleatly raped and ruined the whole series...but I finished the books, and I can't force myself to watch the movies...I think I'd have to set myself on fire and throw myself out a window if I did.
