Fangirls tend to ruin anime series for me. For instance, Heero and Duo from Gundam Wing, a great anime, are now known as the entity "1x2" with a fan following of thousands who have never seen the series. Now that it has been off Cartoon network for some time now, all the 14-year-olds were too young to remember, so the next target: Inuyasha. A fairly decent anime, nothing deep, then out comes "InuYasha x Seshomaru" THEY ARE BROTHERS!!!!
Does anyone else share my pain?

I do. gonk Not when it comes to animes so much (though the creepy Tomoyo/Sakura shippers freak me out to no end), but definitely when it comes to books. I have read so many deranged Harry Potter pairings that it nearly makes me cry every time I find a new one.
It would be difficult for me to choose the worst pairings, but in terms of OOC-ness, it would certainly be Hermione and Draco. Draco is never going to turn into some romantic, sappy guy who writes angsty love poetry to his girlfriend, and Hermione is never going to agree to date the b*****d who has called her "Mudblood" for years, let alone agree to sleep with him in Moaning Myrtle's bathroom.
In terms of grossness, it's definitely Fred/George. What is with society's sick, sick obsession with incest? Why is it considered cool or hip to imagine two identical twins having sex with each other and making out? It's just disgusting.
Then there's all the *****, with Snape/Hermione or Harry, Sirius/Harry, Lupin/Hermione... What I'd like to know is what started this strange trend where the unlikeliest people get paired in illegal, and by all means disgusting, relationships. Is it because it's taboo, and therefore more dangerous and somehow more alluring? I fear I'll never receive the answer to this question, at the same time I fear that I'll hear the answer and feel ill.

Oh gods, the amount of bad pairings I've stumbed across! xp I actually don't mind incest much (please don't shoot me), but only if it's within the same generation. You know what I mean? sweatdrop
But so much PWP stories are just that- no plot and terrible pairings that would NEVER happen.

I agree with you completely Kirjava. Twincest creeps me out to NO end. I don't think I'll even understand the appeal either, Kirjava. WHY? I mean, yeah. Gotta love the twins....but in THAT way? NO. NO. NO. Never. Niet. Nien. Non.

MeriThranduiliell Sorry. sweatdrop I'll go ram my head into the corner now. Aww, don't do that! But hide your shame in the corner, at least. xd Maybe there's just some weird part of my brain that can't grasp the allure of imagining family members humping each other. May it never learn to grasp that, but maybe I'm just weird. >_<

Gotta love the twins....but in THAT way? NO. NO. NO. Never. Niet. Nien. Non. I could say NO forever and still not fully articulate how twisted and sickening I find it. I have just as open a mind as the next person, but accepting that seems way too liberal, borderlining on nonsensical. The worst part is that there are so many people out there who support it, at least in fanfiction. A few isolated pockets of people? Fine, I can avoid them. A gigantic mob of them? Save me please, because there's no escape. gonk I love Fred and George, and I love their close relationship, but quite like the relationship between Frodo and Sam, it's completely platonic, aside from the little bit of brotherly love. I can't for a second imagine them being romantic with a girl, let alone each other.

I think the two of them would have to go out with a pair of twins. They'er so close, and they share everything...it would only make sense. I see what you mean though...it IS hard to imagine them 'dating', or being romantic with a girl. It's not in their character. Hanging out with, maybe. But not in a romantic relationship sort of way. And with eachother? *shudders* No way on God's green earth. And you say that there are hoardes of Twincest fans out there? Uuugh.
I find myself getting somewhat confused at the Harry/Draco stuff out there. I mean, how is that supposed to work? I realise that some may interpret their enemy-ness as sexual tension, but...No. Same with Hermione and Draco. I just can't see it... Draco: *sneers* Hey, mudblood. Hermione: Take me now, you pale, pasty piece of burning hot manflesh! Euh. No. My theory on that is that is that a lot of the authors (not all, lots of) are using Hermione as a Mary Sue in order to get in to the bad boy's pants.

sweetdarkling Draco: *sneers* Hey, mudblood. Hermione: Take me now, you pale, pasty piece of burning hot manflesh! That quote just made my day. xd I definitely agree. Hermione is my favourite character, and when I read fanfics where she's gotten a makeover and suddenly started hopping into bed with every male in the school I nearly sob. It's so much worse when she's with Draco, because either Hermione has been turned into a snivelling sicophant suck-up (in one story Draco murdered someone who hit on her and she joyfully held his hand on the walk home because, "u war sososososo brayve, darccko!!1!1" rolleyes ), or Draco is a sappy, romantic, misunderstood guy who writes love poetry. I don't know why the concept of in-characterocity (my new word >_<) is so lost on some people, but I pray that if I ever get published, no one even thinks of writing a fanfiction about my beloved characters. Quote: Euh. No. My theory on that is that is that a lot of the authors (not all, lots of) are using Hermione as a Mary Sue in order to get in to the bad boy's pants. Screw calling that a theory; I'd say it's absolute fact. Girls always have this stupid bad-boy complex where they want to be with the biggest jerk alive, and Draco is quite the ******** p***k. It doesn't help that Tom Felton plays him in the movies... I don't find him attractive, but many girls have to change their damn underwear after watching him on screen. And there's no doubt that they make Hermione a Mary Sue. In at least 90% of fanfics I've read, she's gotten a makeover during the summer and has straight, platinum blonde hair, ridiculously blue eyes thanks to contacts, and now wears makeup and slutty clothing like tube tops and fur-lined mini-skirts. Basically, according to these authors, she's now the most gorgeous creature alive as well as being intelligent, so what's to stop every single guy in Hogwarts from getting a bulge in their pants when she walks by? whee

The one that really pisses me off is the Kurama/Hiei pairing from yu yu hakusho. I swear, every other fanfic out there has them as a pairing. Even worse, are the fics that have mary-sues trying to break them up. It sickens me, there was nothing in the anime or manga to sugest that they were more than friends. I guess the fangirls minds work like this: wow! they're both so hot....wait a minute, what if we put them together?*drool*

Twincest gonk Those poor Fushigi Yuugi twins o-O.
But yeah, pain in the a**, completely base-less pairing piss me off (sometimes two of the characters have never even met). The rest just make no effing sense.
Some key ones I hate: Kyo x Yuki (Fruits Basket - rivals/enemies don't all secretly want to bone each other) Auron x Rikku (Final Fantasy X) Vincent x Yuffie (Final Fantasy VII - essentially the same as Auron x Rikku) Ed x Envy (Full Metal Alchemist) Ed x Al (FMA - WORST. PAIRING. EVER.) Ed x Roy (FMA)
