Hooray! **potters about sprucing up altar** I have cointreau ready and waiting! Himself has requested shots thereof. Many shots thereof. Shotting cointreau is hardcore so we'll see how many "many" ends up being.
So am I, like, the only person who celebrates this around here, or what? sweatdrop xd
~ Some Information on Lokablot ~
Lokablot is a blot to Loki - from the Nordic rituals "blot" and the Old Norse genitive of "Loki" - and it has come to be celebrated on April 1st, not through any consensus, but the individual decisions of Lokeans across the globe that this might be a neat day to honour our Trickster. That's essentially all the information there is.
I really need to go find the right little symbols like the accent on the "o" in "blot". ó. Blót. Lokablót. Muuuuuch better.

Cool, I'm working my way towards introducing myself to the Norse pantheon. I'm no where near ready yet.

I don't celebrate nearly as many blots as I'd like. I'm always a little fuzzy with ritual practices. I'm still working on finding something that works well for myself and all others involved. Either way, I don't think I'll be celebrating this one. I havew no problems with Lokie. He and I just don't have a lot of dealings. Good luck with yours. Sounds like it could get interesting.

Actually I don't think many non-Lokeans celebrate it wink I didn't expect anyone to say "yes". Though, I'm lucky in that I'm the only mortal in any of my celebrations ^_^ It'd be interesting to try with a group, though. I'd like to attend a Sumbel one day.

I think I would like to get to know Loki, I'm just not ready to approach any of the gods individually. I am doing a pour out this Sunday in a general "Thank you" I'm hoping to get a response. I have some amazing mead that my husband and I got as a gift. It's way too strong for me, but I think it will work well as an initial offering. Still trying to find goats milk though, I may just have to make a trip to Amish country this summer. I know some folks down there who run a goat dairy and I know that I can get some from them.

Sanguina Cruenta I'm lucky in that I'm the only mortal in any of my celebrations ^_^ Me too. The others involved would be the Gods and whatnot. There are plenty of pagans in my area but no Heathens in resonable reach so I'm a solitary Heathen for now. And Shearaha, good luck with your introduction. Come to think of it, I never did a formal intro. I just sort of wandered in and realized I'd been talking to these Gods for years...Maybe I'll do something a bit more formal in the near future.

It's better, somehow, to enjoy with them and share rather than give all of it as a straight gift. Not that they won't like some good strong mead! they'd love it. It's just something I've noticed, that sharing a drink with them sort of reinforces a bond a lot more than giving a gift.

To the one that I serve I'm nervous contacting Loki because of so many people that say " do not call on Loki". I will give my all

I kinda thought that it would be rude of me not to drink with them. Unless I was pregnant or otherwise not able to imbibe.

Loona Wynd To the one that I serve I'm nervous contacting Loki because of so many people that say " do not call on Loki". I will give my all I don't think you should be afraid of Loki, just be prepared for what may happen. He likes to mess with folks. He's also tenacious and once he starts something, he generaly won't stop until he's finished it. I don't know why so many people think he's evil. Things aren't that black and white with the Norse Deities.
