CoreThis generally refers to the central section of a mech. Generally the core is where the pilot in a mech resides and also generally contains the mechs power generation facilities. Of course there are exceptions such as pilots residing within a mech's "head" and so forth but as a rule of thumb most mechs can not function if the core is destroyed.

CorporationThis is generally a reference to one of the mega-corporations, these are the corporations who control the earth and the space surrounding it. There are other corporations in space and on the earth, however they do not have the enormous level of control or size that the mega-corporations do and generally do not have a military section.
