I'm sure we all have little escape artiest! Tell me some of your funny escape stories?
Mine: Fidget: She figured out how to push open the top door of her cage. So I put a weight on it. After that she Figured out that the weight pushed down the center of the cage, so the corners were weaker and she pushed those open. Next when that problem was solved she pushed her waterer out of the hole and squeezed her way through that. When I fixed that she decided she would eat her cage >.> The people at the pet store said "Oh no, they don't chew on that plastic, it's made specifically so they won't chew on it." Yeah I don't buy it, all my rats have seemed to think it's edible. (I have them in much better cages now, that was a long time ago)
The cage I had the mother in was too big for the babies (Old rabbit cage) so they could get out easily. So I took them out and separated the boys and girls into different cages. The boys kept escaping (cheap temporary cages [I didn't expect to suddenly have 13 rats when I only got one]) But it didn't occur to me that the boys could get into the mothers cage for some reason (You think I would have known since I took them out of there because they were escaping.) Yeah I ended up with a few more rats >.< They all have very nice inescapable cages now ^_^

There was this one time where I couldn't find Momo in the FN. I looked several times and my sister looked several times. We checked everywhere and patted everything down. No Momo. That townhouse had no overhead lighting so I couldn't look for her that night and in the morning I had to go to work. I got home from work that evening and she was magically back in the cage as if she was there the whole time.

My old mouse King would escape from his cage and just kinda hang out then go back in. So I never got the hole fixed >.< (It didn't end well thought crying )

When my rats turned out to be prego, we didn't think the babies would be squirrel-y enough to climb up and through the bars of the cage...
We were wrong. About 2 1/2 weeks old, we found that we were missing a few...thankfully they didn't roam far and they were actually hiding UNDERNEATH (our cage is on wheels!) the cage. Poor babies seemed really scared to be away from mom for so long x3

Well I used to have this boy rat name Mister Sam ( Died 2 weeks ago from a brain cancer ) And I was living at my dad's at the time, Jen hated rats so I had to keep his cage in their RV. And he was so smart. He knew how to unlock and open his cage door. And one day he gets out of the cage. And some moron, left the RV door wipe open and he got out. Well of course I thought he was totally ******** silly me forget that he was terrified of jumping from high places) So I didn't bother looks for him after that. Only to go into the RV 4 days later to find the little buddy sitting right by the door. ... I miss Mister Sam so much

I only have mice at the moment but they are escape artists. I have four boys and three girls. I got a young girl who was tiny and I was sure she would get through the bars of the cage and she did. So she's in a tub.
Somehow one of the males manages to get out as well so they are in a cage without bars now. Solved that problem.
I got a hamster cage that had the same bar width as the other one and put the girls in it. My fuzzy hairless managed to get out and walk on my dom males cage and get bit. Found her in the morning under the couch.
Put them back in the other cage and the dom boy in the hamster cage as he's bigger. He managed to get out during the night too. Got bit. Found him under the couch.
Third night in a row now that everyone has not got out! So I think we have worked it all out now. Just waiting for the little girl Button to get big enough to be put in with the other girls smile

I miss Mister Sam so much It's a hard thing losing a rat I wish you the best of luck 3nodding My gosh I wish my rats were scared of heights. It scares me half to death when they jump off my back to the floor. O.O I mean I know the drop won't hurt them but still.

They do alright together so far, but I would never leave them together unsupervised without the cage bars to separate them. 3nodding

Of course I didn't realize she was until I got her home. So I put her in a fish tank a one gallon one placed sideways with a lid with holds cut into it. Unfortunately I was too young to realize this wasn't going to work and she did escape and was never heard from again. Cats probably got her crying

Cats probably got her crying or she could have escaped into the wild, you never know. its rare but sometimes domesticated animals find a safe place to live inthe wild. wild mice live in my garage but recently alot of colorful ones joined the colony so i think they must have come from somebody's house wether they were set free intentionally or accidently.

I've had a few mice escape from me before to never appear again. And a few rats, though I doubt the rats would survive. I don't think we have wild rats here, it's just too hot. But I could be wrong people say rats live everywhere.
