Hi. I bred my rat 21 days ago today, and yet, she still isn't showing any signs of being pregnant, besides gaining a little bit of weight and having no interest in the male. Is there a chance she didn't conceive? I watched them mate, so i know for a fact she 'should' be....she hasn't been grooming her nipples, or making a nest anymore than usual. Any advice?
I know there might not be any breeders here, but when i visit a site i'm a part of that does have breeders, i just get yelled at for being a 'back yard breeder' sad im a new breeder that can't contact my mentor at the moment

Some/most rats don't normally show until a few days before. I had a rat girl that a friend had given me and she didn't show until she busted with her litter of 12 . My only advice is to keep an eye on her .
**Also ~ I have to say this shame shame on backyard breeding . But best of luck with raising and homing rittens if you continue to do so .

You really just got to wait and see, they will show little to no signs during the pregnancy. When I got my newest girls, they didn't show any sign of being pregnant until they started plumping up and nesting like 3 days before they surprised us with babies.
I wish there was a rat pregnancy test razz
