Name:Eilov Rukanyyr
Race: Drow
Age: 597
Gender: male
Height:5'3"
Weight:100 lbs.
Alignment: Chaotic Evil
Occupation: Necromancer
Familiar: Ra, a stitched flesh cat familiar
Armor: Magical Robes (deflects mundane arrows and bolts)
Deity: Lolth
Languages: Undercommon, Drow Silent, Ogre, Orc, Giant, and Goblin.

Weapons:
The Corpses Facade: This ruby dagger allows the wielder to posses the body of a slain target, however the user must stab their own body to return to it within four hours, or their body dies. This does injure the user and the wound never properly heals leaving a nasty scar and causing blood loss from over exertion.

Items:
Various magical implements and potions
Basic materials for spells
Potion of minor healing x5
Corpse labeling potion x7 (A non-toxic arcane oil that is used by smearing it onto a corpse.)

Markings:
There is a dark green tattoo in the shape of a spider eating the moon on his left wrist extending into his left palm. It is linked by necromantic magic to detect the corpse labeling potion. When the potion is smeared on a corpse the tattoo glows a sickly green color and the moon becomes black. The effective range of the tattoo is 150 ft.

Prepared Spells:
Ghoul Gauntlet*: This spell allows Eilov to touch a single living target with baleful necromantic energy. The energy slowly kills them from over the course of an hour to two full days. At the time that they die, they rise as a ravening, flesh-eating ghoul completely loyal to Eilov. The process can be slowed by healing or negated by usage of: cure disease, dispel magic, heal, limited wish, miracle, Mordenkainen's disjunction, remove curse, wish, or greater restoration.
Awaken Undead*: Eilov sacrifices a small bit of his soul to create a 60ft. burst centered on him that awakens the sentience of mindless undead. These undead regain the ability to wear armor and use weapons, they also regain any natural abilities they had in life. They also gain a resistance to being turned, though it is slight. The effect is permanent.
Necrotic awareness*: Allows Eilov to sense creatures around him that bear a necrotic cyst. If he focuses on the spell he can discern which creatures they are in a crowd, and further focus reveals there location if seen or direction if hidden.
Necrotic domination*: Allows Eilov to attempt to mentally dominate an encysted target from up to 300ft. away.
Necrotic Scrying*: Allows Eilov to scry on someone implanted with a necrotic cyst up 300ft. away.
Necrotic Cyst*: Places a sphere of semisolid undead flesh of dead flesh inside touched targets body. The cyst causes a sympathetic response to undead and negative energy causing them to suffer additional pain from necromantic spells and negative energy.
Necrotic Tumor*: The cyst in a target shifts and becomes a tumor within their brain. If the target resists this only allows the caster to use the suggestion spell upon them, lasting up to two weeks. If the victim fails their save the tumor swells and the caster gains permanent control over them forcing them to perform within their abilities. If no common language exists between caster and victim they can only be directed in simple commands such as 'stay here', 'go there', 'come here', or 'fight'.
Blade of Pain and Fear*: Summons a floating blade of necromantic energy that fights on its own at the casters behest. Those struck by the blade may be shaken or frightened by its grim visage and unholy energy.
Necrotic Bloat*: Causes an encysted target's necrotic cyst to expand and damage surrounding tissue, depending on area that cyst is in this can prove fatal.
Summon Undead V*: Allows Eilov to summon from table Undead-V and subsequently control them.
Necrotic Eruption*: Causes the encysted target's necrotic cyst to rapidly expand and explode causing serious damage and at the very least infecting them with a host of bacteria.
Lightning Bolt: Creates a bolt of lightning that arks forth from the caster's fingertips and into a target up to 240ft. away in a straight line.

Spellbook:
[All aforementioned spells are listed in Eilov's spellbook.]
Spirit Worm: Spectral worm crawls into targets body and harms their body for a few moments. Incredibly painful and psychologically traumatizing.
Permanency: Trades a portion of the casters soul to make a spell permanent, power of spell is in direct proportion to soul part lost.
Undead Lieutenant: Target undead can command undead under casters control.
Greater Mage Hand: As mage hand: but up to 100ft. away and up to 140lbs.
Prismatic Eye: Produces individual orbs that can deliver a single prismatic touch attack.
Dhulark's Glasstrike: Turns target into glass, can be resisted with no ill effects.
Dimensional Lock: Prevents dimensional travel within certain area.
Suggestion: Offers a 'helpful' idea to target, cannot be directly harmful in nature
Detect Thoughts: Allows Eilov to read the thoughts of up to three targets up to 100ft. away
Symbol of Pain: Creates a magical symbol that, once triggered, wracks target with pain.

(* indicates spell is found in D&D supplement book: Libris Mortis: The book of undead)

Table: Undead-V
Eilov may choose only one of the following selections when casting Summon Undead V.

Summon 1 Mummy
Summon 1 Shadow
Summon 1 Vampire Spawn
Summon 1 Wight

Summon 2 Huge Zombie
Summon 2 Ghast
Summon 2 Allip

Summon 4 Large Zombies
Summon 4 Huge Skeletons
Summon 4 Ghouls
Summon 4 Medium Zombies
Summon 4 Large Skeletons
Summon 4 Small Zombies
Summon 4 Medium Skeletons

Physical Weaknesses: Abdominal wound on his chest bleeds if he over exerts himself in any way. Having bad eyesight for a Drow Eilov cannot properly aim and fire any ranged weapon. His training in the use of his dagger is based off of books and not actual training making him fairly useless at close range. Having a mother cyst in him allows undead to sense him at a good distance and provides him pain that never truly goes away.

History: Born low of rank and fulfilling the hereditary urge to rise above his station, Eilov did just that. He enlisted in an outpost as a guard after mastering his sorcerous powers. Escaping a mind flayer inquisition on his outpost, Eilov refused to let such an event tarnish his standing. Rising through the political ranks across various houses he never truly felt as though he belonged to any of them so he set out some years back and established a merchant house of slavers. He rules over them with an iron fist, ensuring every order completed.

The Corpses Facade: This macabre tool has existed for countless centuries passing from one hand to another in one way or another. Originally created in a set of five by some long forgotten tribe of illithids it was designed to be used as a way to infiltrate a community and topple it from the inside. The tribe was eventually found and terminated by a daring group of surface adventurers seeking glory and gold in the Underdark. The dagger was not recognized during the battle of being worth as much wealth as other items within the village, and a scouting party of Drow eventually came across the battlefield. Hoping to sell it off one of the members brought it along with him to Starless Sea and pawned it off. Years passed and Eilov passed by the shop looking for a new weapon to defend himself should someone get to close in a fight. Finding the dagger he bought it on a sheer whim for a decoration less than an actual weapon. While studying ancient illithids for deeper insight onto how he might raise one as an undead slave he stumbled upon a passage describing the practice of using a set of ruby daggers to take the places of victims for a short time in order to secure a thrall and food source. Eilov poured many weeks into his studies eventually finding out exactly what his weapon did. To his dark joy he found that the weapon he had was the last of the set, leaving him with the only copy. Eilov now keeps the blade on him at all times, confident that he will indeed have use for it many times.

Really like the character. Very interesting, nicely balanced.

But where does the dagger come from? It's a very interesting sounding item, and I wouldn't call it overpowered, but I want to know its history. It sounds like a story lies behind it, and his acquisition of it, but what? The world wants to know!

I'd still like to see more on the dagger, but since that's all you've got my approval.
