I thought that favorite potential pairings thread was really cute. So here's a companion piece to it blaugh All through the series Buffy basicly gets jerked around with guys. Sucks for her you know? So if they really had the chance, who do you think could really make Buffy happy?
Personally i'm inclined to think Giles would be perfect for her heart Despite the whole age thing, i think he is the one person who truly understands and excepts her. And who has a heartbeat xp What do you guys think? Between the non-heartbeaty guys...I dunno... Angel might be better for her. But Spike is so much hotter 3nodding And sorry I just really hate Riley.

Giles 3nodding I think Angel/Buffy is nice, but I don't really think they should be together. The reason I don't like Spike/Buffy is because Spike just got...so...he just wasn't as cool after he was (as I like to call it) Buffy-whipped. And I like Riley, but not with Buffy whee

Wow i'm totally surprised by how many crazy Giles/Buffy shippers there are O.O Most people go "eww not Giles! He's like her father!" Gahaha... He's too yummy for that stressed Anyone been to buffygiles.com ? Lot's of fanfics for the pairing there.

Ohh fanfic site! For the moment, with fanfics I am not so picky with pairings, but I do feel more inclined toward Angel/Buffy.
They were cool when they were together, and he actually seemed to care. Spike was... okay, but I liked him better with Dru.
Did you know ol' Spike was only supposed to be a five ep character?
At least that's what I remember from the most recent video game extras.
So they weren't actually 'meant' to be from the beginning.

You're right, Spike wasn't supposed to be a long-term character. I can't remember exactly what changed it, either James Marsters just fell too much in love with the character, or Joss did...someone liked the character too much to let him leave whee
It's weird, cause usually Joss has a lot of things planned out. Like, Dawn was already planned from season...3, I think? Yeah, season 3, or 4. I know they started having references...in the season 4 finale, and in one of the shared Buffy/Faith dreams...

I loved Spike and Buffy, but hated that she hurt him sooooo much. But the reason I think she could never be truly in love with anyone else was that she never really got over Angel. So I think the only real way for her to be happy would be for her and Angel to get back together. But in my own mind, I would love to see Willow and Buffy together.

I dunno, I don't think Angel and Buffy are really...meant to be. I think they're just meant to be a forbidden love thing and then get on with their lives. I've never really liked Buffy with the undead people.
