History
As told by the Isolé :: Before time began there was the Mother, and Orielle made all that was and would be on the ground and in the air. All dragons came from her and all continues to grow from this great tree.
The people of Orielle called themselves the Isolé and they lived in the land favored by Orielle until Orielle departed from them, leaving her commands and way of life to her people.
Now they are led by the blood of her blood and still remain ever faithful and true to the ways of the original Isolé.
As history would tell :: The Isolé were a small pack, led by a female dragon, Orielle. At first they were a wandering pack, but eventually they settled in a valley and called it their own. Little known to them, it was within the territory of another species, and after a battle with the Northerners, they managed to claim it for themselves while banishing all traces of those of Northern blood.
The bloodline of Orielle lives in the leaders of the pack and in her people. They remain isolated and because of that they have made their own history where truth was forgotten.

Beliefs
Species :: This is a mountain dragon only pack. Due to its isolated location, it isn't very likely that the members will meet a northern dragon, but when they do, they tend to be avoided like the plague.
Outsiders :: A Mountain outsider will be welcomed into the pack. If they wish to join, the council will hold a meeting and decide if they may. (This will start once the pack is official. For now feel free to apply for dragons who have already joined in the past)
The Mother :: She is named Orielle, this dragon is the deity that Isolé follow. According to the legends of Isolé, she was the first dragon, and all dragons are descended from her. The Isolé pack are blessed by The Mother, and those who aren't Isolé are cursed.
Mating :: Mating is not a sacred bond in Isolé as it is in most packs. Courtship is a common ritual that is not based on emotions or relationships. It is a way of expressing unity as a pack. Male-Female courtships are the most common but occasionally two members of the same gender will imitate this ritual.
Dragons do not have mates, as their is very little personal preference in mating and it is not out of love. However, friends are more likely to mate since they share more unity.
It is encouraged to only mate with other Isolé, but it wouldn't be odd for an Isolé to make advances on outsiders they meet. It makes perfect sense to an Isolé to express greetings like this, even though outsiders may not understand what they are doing. They would never mate with an unwilling dragon, though, since this ritual is a blessing and not a curse.
Mating with Northern dragons is said to be cursed, although nothing will happen to an Isolé if they are found out anyways. But you are more likely to be cursed with Northern offspring if you do.
In simpler terms, mate often with multiple dragons. No Northerners (unless you want RP conflict =D)
Breeding :: Breeding is not the same as mating. To the Isolé, there is no concept of breeding, so lineage cannot be traced except through the mother's side.
Pregnancy :: Pregnancy is a one-dragon process. Yes, it is the result of mating, but that is not the beliefs of the Isolé.
Pregnancy is a blessing from The Mother, and it is favored for a dragon to be pregnant. Orielle is said to favor females over males, since they do not posses the ability to become pregnant. If a female Isolé is favored by The Mother, she will be blessed and give birth to Mountain offspring. If she has associated with Northerners, Orielle may curse her with Northern Offspring.
Due to the frequencies of mating, it was nearly impossible for the original Isolé pack to tell whom the father of a clutch was. Now in modern times, the concept to a father has faded away completely. There is no connection between mating and pregnancy according to their beliefs.
False Pregnancies:: Because Inbreeding is present within the pack, it does take its tool. Very many of the pregnancies within the pack do not lead to real offspring. Usually their will be a miscarriage or the eggs will be born premature or dead. Sometimes pregnant dragons never know that they are pregnant because it ends to early. When this happens to a dragon, it is believed that they are unfavored or that they received a blessing they didn't truly earn.
While these pregnancies are real in RP, they have no effect on breedings. You do not need a breeding slot and this will not count towards the breeding limit. Just remember that no offspring will result from RPing this. Only experiences.
Offspring :: A dragon is born of its mother and no one else. No father.
All offspring born must be Mountain dragons. Any offspring that are born as Northern dragons will be driven out of the pack to die. Most likely though, they would be taken in by another dragon or pack, maybe even their Northern father.
Being Northern is considered your own curse, and is no fault of your mother, even if her actions brought the curse upon you.
Siblings and Relatives :: A dragon is only related to her mother and siblings that were born of her mother. So two dragons that were born of the same mother, but had different fathers, would be siblings. But if you had the same father, but different mothers, you wouldn't because their is no connection between you and the male who fathered you.
Because if this, there would be know way of knowing if another dragon was genetically your sibling or not if they weren't born of your mother. If they were to mate, pregnancy would never result because of the closeness of your genes.
Coloration :: There is no major discrimination among those of different pelt colors, though a majority of the original members of the Isolé pack were dark pelted with natural colors. The darkness of the pelt has no effect any longer on ranks, but naturally colored dragons are a majority of the dragons.
Gender :: Legend tells that once males and females were able to become pregnant and give birth to offspring until one time a male gave birth to eggs that hatched Northern dragons. Orielle was infuriated and cursed all males so that they could not longer bear children. But after this, a dragon who gave birth to Northern offspring was no longer cursed, because females were needed to be the offspring bearers. This ability puts females honored more highly than males in Isolé.
Abilities :: Magic is not believed by the Isolé dragons. Therefore if one is born with such powers, they will either not be aware of it, ignore them, or hide them from others. Outsiders claiming to have powers will not be allowed into the pack unless they deny them first.
One of the most common reasons for a dragon to voluntarily leave the pack is that they have magic powers and do not wish to hide them.

RanksThe Leader:: (1/1)The leader is always female, following in the traditions of Orielle. She is usually chosen from the oldest of the previous leader's heirs. If none are available, she will be chosen by the Council. -Tambora: Her leadership caused somewhat of a controversy. When their mother was leader, her older sister, Timpani, was the heiress. But shortly before their mother's death, Timpani left the pack, leaving Tambora as the only suitable heiress. She wasn't as confident at first, but now she is a bold leader and wants to believe that she holds the support of most of her pack. The Seer:: (1/1)The Seer is one of the more mysterious ranks among the Isolé. Out of this whole pack, he is the only one who holds the truth that Orielle kept from the pack. Not even the leader knows it. This knowledge is passed from the Seer to his apprentice. Even though the Seer knows the real truth, it is his duty to instruct youth and other pack members in the ways and beliefs of the Isolé. The next seer is chosen from the Leader's youngest, but closest male descendant at the time the previous seer feels ready to take one. -TimbalesThe Elders:: (0/6)Traditionally there are 6 elders on the Council of Elders. They are not always the oldest Isolé dragons, but are chosen by the leader out of the pack to be her advisers. There are usually 3 males and 3 females, but if no suitable replacements can be found, the balance can be upset. The Leader can also dismiss elders, and they will return to their previous rank.Healers:: (1/2)There are only a few healers in the pack, and this job is highly respected. Unlike the other ranks, healers are allowed to attend Counsel meetings and have a voice in decisions. They rely on herbs and medicines. Some do develop healing magic, but most are either unaware or hide it. (To start there will be 2, but those can take youth apprentices later) -LizHunters:: (0/10)Hunters hunt to feed the pack. This is one of the higher ranks and they are allowed to leave the bowl without an escort. As apprentices they are trained where the boundaries are outside the bowl. (To start there will be 10, but those can take youth apprentices later) -RaxacorGuards:: (0/10)Guards are another high rank. They help keep the peace in the bowl itself as well as patrolling the pack boundaries. They deal with Northern dragons by chasing them away, but lone Mountain dragons are invited to return to the bowl with them. There are usually two guards posted at the bowl entrance at all times. Guards must escort pack members when they want to leave the bowl, and will defend them from other dragons. (To start there will be 10, but those can take youth apprentices later)Isolé::Not every dragon has a rank. Some are simply members of the pack. These dragons usually remain within the bowl, but are allowed out with a guard escort. They are trained in basic hunting and fighting. -Solacei -NaomiApprentices::At the juvenile stage, some youth are selected to apprentice under a hunter or a guard. They are taught the skills of their mentor and become a full strength hunter or guard upon adulthood. Those which are not chosen to be apprenticed are taught the basic skills.Youth::Babies fall into the youth categories. Youth reside with their mother in the caves and are allowed to play in the bowl. Youth are never allowed outside the bowl unless they are banished for being Northern.

Territory
The Valley :: The Isolé live in a bowl-like crater that is surrounded on all sides by stone. There is an opening on the southern-most side of the valley that opens into the outside ranges. The land inside the valley is rather large and most dragons can live their lives contently never leaving it.
The Location :: The valley is located a little while north of the Mountain-Northern boundary line. Due to the geothermal properties of the low land inside the bowl, the ground is very warm. This, mixed with the frigid temperatures in the air above the valley, causes a fog layer in the mid air, which keeps the temperature in the valley tolerable for Mountain dragons.
The Mid Tree :: The tree in the center of the bowl, often referred to as the Mid Tree by the Isolé, is home to the current leader of the pack. The Mid Tree was said to have been planted by Orielle herself, and now its branches stretch nearly to the heights of the valley. The roots of the tree branch off of the ground to form the base of the trunk, and there is a cavern underneath it where the leader makes their den. This den is forbidden for any other dragon to enter unless they are personally invited in my the leader.
Tree Rings :: Near the back side of the Mid Tree, there is a semi-circle of tree trunks. This is where the elders sit during any meetings. The leader sits on a large root that sticks out of the tree.
The Caves :: At the back end of the valley, there are several caves. Each dragon lives in a particular cave, and usually multiple dragons of either gender share a single cave. There are also a few caves where nesting mothers can stay with their offspring.

What happens in the bowl stays in the bowl ::Dragon Name: Liz Dragon Cert: doopUsername: kitsune_reflection Position Wanted: Healer or elder would probably suit her, but I feel kind of bad claiming a high rank when I'm going to be on hiatus for so long... up to you! If she's a healer, she'll know herb lore and I'll probably RP her up to getting the healing gift, causing a minor freak out on her part and an increased reliance on herbs to explain why so many of her patients get better. She's going to have pleeenty of plots going on, believe me. >3 (Naomi will have kids first.) (Guard/hunter is okay toooo.) Personality Excerpt: Serious and dedicated, loyal and opinionated, Liz is always ready to make her presence known. Childless, she has lost two clutches and it weighs heavily on her, but her depression and loneliness only serve to increase her dedication to her work. History with Pack: Born in Why should you dragon be a part of the pack: Born in What happens in the bowl stays in the bowl ::Dragon Name: Naomi Dragon Cert: bloopUsername: kitsune_reflection Position Wanted: Isolé Personality Excerpt: Her big sister Liz has always been there to protect her, so Naomi has remained naive and innocent. Friendly and cheerful, she wants everybody to be her friend and doesn't understand that actions have consequences. History with Pack: Born in Why should you dragon be a part of the pack: Born in --- Note: Naomi and Liz have the same mother, but different fathers. Liz may or may not leave the pack after some extensive plottage (her sister having kids, healing gift?, etc etc), but that really depends on how things pan out. I mean, I'd like her to have a mate and kids eventually, but the kids will be with an outsider male, so whether or not she stays permanently will depend on who she picks as a mate and what the other owner wants to do. I'll see how the RP goes, whee! Also. Naomi is staying either way; I don't think she could handle life outside the bowl.

What happens in the bowl stays in the bowl ::Dragon Name: Raxacor Dragon Cert: [x]Username: Celestial Requiem Position Wanted: Isole or hunter Personality Excerpt: She's a bit of a rebel and does whatever she can to get away from Rygor's(her brother) constant nagging. She's not really a fan of rules, but if they're lax enough she won't complain too much. Anything unusual instantly attracts her eye, which at times can get her into trouble. Of course, Rygor was always there to save her but she just waves it off and says she had everything under control and now that he has a family of his own he can't be keeping tabs on her all the time. She's also a bit lazy and won't do anything unless forced to by whatever means. History with Pack: Joined later~ Why should you dragon be a part of the pack: She's pretty much joining as another way to rebel against her brother. She likes the idea of males pretty much having no part in the family process and that she can, essentially, fool around all she wants without being looked down upon. She also really needs some female company considering she now has three nephews and her new sister-in-law is pretty loyal to Rygor.

Raxacor can be a hunter, unless you'd prefer the other one more.
Brown, white and grey seem to be the dominant colors. =3
