Personality: Fida is a quiet, serious person. He hates assassins who don't take their jobs seriously and hates jokes of any sort. Fida is extremely loyal to Masyaf, Al Mualim, and all assassins in general. He would die to protect the city and his allies.
History: Fida was born and raised in Masyaf. His father was an assassin and his mother was a scholar. When Fida reached the age of two years, his father was killed on a mission and his mother died after losing the will to live. The boy went to live with his uncle on his mother's side, who was also an assassin, and began his training. Fida became very skilled with a sword and killed his first target as an apprentice assassin at the age of twelve. He left his uncle's custody afterward to train under Al Mualim. In the ten years following, Fida handled six more targets with his sword, five with a short sword, three with a hidden blade, and only one with a ranged weapon. Fida assumed these targets were random until he received one that held the name of his father's killer. That man was the only person Fida ever killed with a ranged weapon because he felt those were disrespectful weapons to use. Fida has since embraced the creed and the way of the assassin, not seeing any other reason for living than cleansing the population of evil.

Weapons of Choice: When fighting one enemy, James uses a thin rapier. When fighting multiple enemies, James uses a thinker longsword. Just in case, James also carries a simple quillion dagger.

The man returned home to praise and songs of his bravery, but he was not happy. He forced James, who hated violence, to pick up a blade and start fighting. James trained with people up to three or four times his age and slowly became better than all of them. At the age of fourteen, much too young to charge into battle, James' father forced him to enter the Crusades as a foot soldier. When his age was discovered after he had fought several battles and killed many men, he was not sent home but instead sent to become a guard of Damascus. He rose through the ranks while in Damascus and became a lieutenant around the same time Jean Beauclaire had. James has deep feelings for the woman that he knows will probably never be returned, and he accepts this.
