How do you really recognize the voice of God? Every time I try to talk to Him, somebody (Satan) always interferes. I don't know if it's just me, or is it God, or the devil? I'm confused. I really want to hear God's voice, but I don't know if I'm ready or not. HELP!

this is actually something alot of people i've talked with are mistaken about,
God does not really speak to us verbally in our minds, when we talk with Him, He does listen and responds how He sees fitting, but when God speaks it's usually within our hearts, He speaks to us by inspirations,
sometimes God might put a thought into our heads, but it is not His usual way of speaking to us, and if He does speak to us that way, it is unmistakable,
the way to tell is, for one, if the words just seem to come to you effortlessly, and two, if it is something you would never have thought of yourself.
but despite that, "talking" with God is not like talking with your mom on your sister, it's not back and forth(aside from those rare cases you hear from some of the saints)
and if He does put a thought into your head, it's usually in your own minds voice, and not His.

the communication we have with God is prayer, and prayer, as we know, is the lifting of our hearts and our minds to God,
and although He may not always speak to us in an obvious way, as long as we are speaking to Him then we are growing spiritually, growing in our love for Him, growing in piety, and receiving many many graces as well.

does that explain what you wanted to know?...i feel like i'm not really answering your question e.e

This troubled me for some time. Most of the time God doesn't shove a loud voice in our heads as if we have telepathy. Have you prayed for Him to speak to you? He kind of uses metaphors. But they're usually obvious to us. It's almost like a Christian spidey sense. And it's unmistakable. He probably hasn't tried to communicate with you. All you can do for now is keep talking to Him and ask Him to clear your mind of the enemy's distractions. It'll be easier to 'hear' Him that way.

you know, it's hard to say, but i do disagree and feel like for some people they hear God.
i've never experienced it, but i do know someone who wasn't a christian and was desperately praying because she didn't know what else to do, and heard a bible verse in Matthew and looked it up and it was relevant and basically converted her.

but maybe that's an angel, who knows, but that was crazy because she had never read the bible.

but god speaks to me through action, and i learned that verification from god is pretty simple, either you've got it and you know it, you're ambiguous so you're close but not quite there, or you don't have it and your choices are unfruitful.

God spoke to me through a dream a week ago, and then i went to church and the sermon was directly related to the dream i had, and then some crazy things happened that changed my life, and i see that as the voice of God.
he sent me a message through the holy spirit, i received it, understood it, and then was given an answer to my prayers and saw his action directly happen as a result.

if you want to get kind of crazy, some people have images, but that's kind of sketch, kind of like hearing stuff, but like i said, if it's God, you know it's God and there is no doubt.
that's my experience.

Old post I know, but still felt like posting reply.

To me, God isn't just a voice, he's a presence that just cuts through all noise and all pain. His presence instantly calms and slows down all the hell going on in your life and in your mind ridding all your fears and doubts. He speaks to your soul and touches it with grace. God is undeniable truth that inspires and cannot be contained.

I hope this helps.
