((If you don't mind, it'll be in separate threads to combat confusion.))
The Apocalypse has begun, how will you live through it? This is where you start.

((I kinda feel like I hijacked this rp, hope you don't mind my starting it off))
Carla sat in her garden, surveying to see if anyone or anything got into it overnight. She had traps set up just in case, especially in case a rabbit happened to try to get in. This morning she saw a closed trap, but nothing inside it.
Cursed weasels got in again... she thought. Her life seemed simple for now, but she had been doing this for about three weeks now, living in this abandoned house of a man that had sought companions to help survive, but had been backstabbed instead. The 'companions' had ransacked the place and run off, but left much of the furniture and garden untouched. There was still a few more days before any turnips or potatoes or carrots would be ready, but Carla knew it would be a good reward. The gun weighed heavy on the holster at her hip, but she knew she needed it now that she had something of value to people, and even animals.

((nah it's just fine! im horrible at starting XD ))

Kokuro bounded up what was left of the subway stairs. That was always a negative about them, all of that bombing and war had destroyed many buildings practically anywhere. She didn't know what city she was in this time, and that probably didn't matter anymore. She just hopped onto trains and rode them to a new place. They all looked the same by now. It was early morning and Kokuro knew she would have to go look for some food some time soon, she hadn't eaten in who knows how long. If she was lucky, maybe there would be some broken down truck or supermarket with some scraps left.

Carla heard a rustling sound nearby in her yard where she had put a small amount of corn out. She peered over the fence of her garden and saw the beautiful buck. She took the gun out of its holster and took a few shots. It bounded off into the brush in the back of her yard just a ways before collapsing.
"Yay! Dinner!" She yelled out loud. She would need some help with the carcass though, because she didn't want to risk leaving it out there for other animals to get to it.
"Hey, I need some help! Help! There's food in it for anyone who helps out!" Carla cried out towards the road and down through the row of houses. She knew someone had to be home.

((Mind if I add a character?))

((add as many as you like! i think i may add a 2nd character as well))

Kokuro was walking along the city edges where the houses were further spread apart and were nearly all empty. She had failed finding any food in the city so in desperation, she went to the outskirts to see what she could scramble. In the distance, a voice was calling for help and offering food as a reward. The teen wasn't too fond of helping others in this dog-eat-dog existence, but she wasn't about to pass up a chance for nourishment after she had been missing it for a good 5 days. "I hear you need some help?" she said in that raspy voice of hers that showed just how dehydrated and starving she was.

"Yes, I need someone to help me bring this deer up to my house so nothing else can get to it. I'll gut it whenever we get it up there, and I'll let you have a few venison steaks as a reward once I start quartering it," Carla explained. She was glad she had grown up in a small town in the woods, where she had learned useful hunting skills. She started to heave the front end of the animal over her shoulder, holding onto its front legs. It must've weighed a few hundred pounds.
"I also have a wood grill if you would like to eat some of your steak here," Carla offered.

"Very well, I used to do a lot of weight lifting back in high school. And thank you," she said out of manners. So much time from being on her own and fighting people for food and other necessities made her wary of humans. Kokuro walked towards the woman and helped her with the other end of the deer. Her stomach was growling at the thought of having such a delicious meal not too far in the future. Even when she did find food, it was usually scraps or plants, so this was like a feast. "I'm Kokuro Matsuoka," she added.

"My name's Carla Riki, and that's a handy skill to have at a time like this," Carla replied, readjusting the deer on her shoulder. They were about halfway to the house now, and she planned on setting it down just outside the porch.

Rave had wandered outside city limits, which he had rarely done in his old life. He saw few people here, and he was hoping he could find a farmer's field or something where he could find some sort of substinence. He passed a few houses that were already ransacked, and also a couple of inhabited ones. There must be some kind of source of food here if there's people living here.

"Nice to meet you. And yes, it's come in handy quite a few times like now," she said. The deer was pretty heavy and it was newly killed from what she could tell. This deer was very well worth the value. "Do animals wander here often?" she asked. If they were more common than she thought then on her next train-hop she would have to stop at the outskirts of other towns to catch her some good meat.

"Well, it doesn't seem to be as often as I'd like, but it happens occasionally. It helps to put out something for them to eat to bring them out of the woods," Carla explained. They reached the porch and she set down the front of the deer on the grass and motioned for Kokuro to do the same.

Rave heard some talking from outside one of the houses. It sounded like two young women struggling with something.
Perhaps this is my chance, he thought as he walked across the lawn. He made sure he still had his small pistol, just in case they tried to shoot at him.

"I see," she said, not knowing what else to say. When all of the catastrophe was first happening and then the struggle for survival that followed afterward, everyone she met either talked about their lives before the disaster or their next plan of action. There was no need to talk about anything else because people weren't there to make friends or socialize anymore, they were there to survive as long as possible and take what they can. By now, Kokuro was pretty used to it and didn't bother her so much, mostly because she would only have to deal with people for no more than a day before taking off to her next city. Still.. It would help if she had kept some of those social skills she had before the disaster for times like these when there was no harm in talking. Snapping out of her train of thought, Kokuro did as directed and set down the other end of the deer onto the grass. She hadn't expected it to tire her out so much, but the malnourishment made her weaker than normal. As she sat down on the grass to rest for a little break, she heard the sound of someone approaching. She instinctively reached for her dagger, with more than enough experience in violent cities to know that as soon as one sensed danger, they should be ready immediately. In the back of her mind, Kokuro wished she had her rifle that she used to use to go sharpshooting with her father, but it had been utterly destroyed along with her home.

Carla also heard the stranger approach and had her hand on the gun. They had fresh food worth protecting, and she wanted to make sure nothing happened to either her or her new friend. A dark haired guy came out of the shadows with his hands up.
"I mean no harm, I just wanted to see if you guys needed my help, which you apparently don't. Would you be willing to trade with me though for a small chunk of that meat?" Rave asked politely, showing some items he planned to trade, including ammo.
"Hmm, well... you can't stay for long, and it's going to cost more if you expect it to be travel worthy," Carla bargained.

Kokuro stood back and watched the two bargain. She had done it a few times herself, but now besides the meet she was about to get and the dagger in her hands, she didn't really have anything to bargain. Slowly, she put the weapon back into its hilt against her thigh, but kept her guard up. If this guy said he didn't mean trouble, fine, but she still didn't have to trust him.

Rave let Carla look through all the things he had set out, including ammo that fit the pistol she had. She actually looks kinda cute like that... well, too bad it's the end of the world, he thought.
Carla finally decided to take some of the ammo and a survival knife. The kitchen in the house she had possessed absolutely no knife set, so it would come in handy. All she had was her hunting knife. She set to work on the deer again while Rave watched hungrily. He looks like he could eat a cow... I'd better keep good watch over him while dealing with this deer.

Kokuro watched Carla prepare the meat skillfully and caught the hungry look in the stranger. "So.. uh.. what brings you to the outskirts of this city?" she asked a bit awkwardly. She figured that had he been from around this area, Carla would have recognized him immediately since the incredible death rate made seeing a new face in your area rare, and if he had been riding the rails like she has, then she probably would have seen him on her last train since it was the only functional one along these routes.
