Hope ::
You have acquired a pretty little Lotus flower from a creepy mysterious person! He tells you that it feeds on wishes, hopes,and other wispy things, such as incense, not water. The incense smell will always be following you around now, so pick a scent you like. It also glows and makes a nice nightlight. Whatever those light orbs are, they don't seem to be fireflies after all...

From Purity to Hope ::
:: 7 of 7 activity points or however long it takes for the next stage to be complete, RP not required.

Purity ::
Somehow, the Lotus has turned into a cute child that smells faintly of the incense you were using. The child is a blank slate, and remembers nothing (or nearly nothing) of life before you. By the way the child is asexual.

From Hope to Blossom ::
::30 activity points and 5 role-playing sessions or however more it takes for the child to decide on a gender (consciously or unconsciously; can also stay asexual).

~ 5 of 5 PDs (4 Count) [1][2][3][4][5]

~ 55 of 30 Activity Days

:: Upon reaching the above stated growth requirements, owners may submit a Growth Request.
:: Once approved, it will be added into the artist's (likely) long list of things to do. Owners are encouraged to continue roleplay at the Purity stage in the meantime.
:: Submit growth requests in the Growth Request thread in this forum. If one is worried that it may be overlooked, mention it in the shop thread and include a link to the post in question.

Blossom ::
After interacting with other people (RPs) your child grows up and (possibly) decides on a gender. Due to the circumstances of their birth they cannot age any further, but they will look pretty forever.

From Blossom to ??? ::
:: A lot of good roleplaying and character development.
:: The shop shall notify the owner via PM if and when this stage is reached. The owner may then choose to accept or decline the growth offer.

??? ::
Depending on character development and role-playing, your child may be able to reach this stage and fully awaken.

THE FESTIVAL

Obligatory history post no one really cares about.
Only going to go into one aspect of the holiday this time.

    Duanwu Festival, better known in the "western" countries as Dragon Boat Festival, is on the 5th day of the 5th month according to the lunar calendar. Presently many people attribute this holiday to Qu Yuan, a man from the warring states period known for his patriotism and literature (though it is believed that his status was added onto a previously existing tradition, much in the same way Christmas was originally pagan).

    Qu Yuan was a man who only wanted the best for his state and his king, helping the state of Chu grow strong among the many states of the era. He warned the king not to ally with Qin, because he saw that Qin was ruthless and will very likely turn on them once they were no longer need. Unfortunately, there were a number of people in Chu's court that were jealous of Qu Yuan, and he fell victim to slander. Accused of treason, Qu Yuan was banished and sent into exile where he spent his time writing a lot of poetry and literature expressing his views of government and his love of the country. He was greatly loved by his countrymen.

    Eventually the state of Qin did turn on Chu, and Chu was conquered. Overcome with grief, despair, and anger, Qu Yuan threw himself into a river as means to make a point. Luckily a nearby fisherman saw the act and quickly fished Qu Yuan out of the river, saving his life. However, Qu Yuan's mind was set. He jumped again, this time tying himself to a large rock so as to make his rescue impossible.

    He sunk. It was the 5th day of the 5th month.

    Though unable to save Qu Yuan this time, the fisherman and his fellow countrymen loved the poet, and did not want Qu Yuan's body to be defiled by the fish in the river. To prevent that, they rowed out on boats with gongs and drums, trying to scare away the fish with the noise. They also cooked and wrapped sticky rice in lotus leaves to toss into the river, hoping that if the fish were full, they would leave Qu Yuan's body in peace.

    And that is (one reason) why people race dragon boats on that day.

    The Chinese characters in the top banner are the first few line of what is likely Qu Yuan's most famous work: Li Sao.

Name: Qiang Di (strong earth)

Gender: Male

Height: Tall

Weight: Appears heavy, more from muscle then fat though

Hair color: Black

Eye color: Looks black up up very close one can see hints of blue

Skin color: Tanned from the sun and rough from the elements

Significant Other: A Tie between Po Zei and Tian Mi

Friends: Hard to tell if he has anyone he considers to be a friend, a few members of his gang perhaps.

Likes: Anything that would be considered luxurious, everything from jewels to clothing to people. Anything he decides that he likes he will take for himself no matter what.

Dislikes: Annoying people, those that dare to stand against him and his group, sour foods, ugly people (for lovers at least).

Favorite Food: Alcohol

Favorite colors: Blue

Abilities: Able to inspire and lead people with a word or glance, expert in several weapons, and brawling. He also has an intimidating aura around him and is good at cowing people with a glance.

Distinguishing Features: Appears as though he might be a mix breed, likely Russian blood mixed with the Chinese which is what is said to give him his great stature.

About: Qiang Di is what he is, hes a gang leader and a man of many strengths but just as many weaknesses. He is often seen at the edge of town where one of his two lovers, Tian Mi, runs a bath house. Its one that is set up for only certain clientele as the more wholesome people wouldn't bring themselves to bathe at a place run by an ex-prostitute and frequented by bad people.

Name: Po Zei (soul theif)

Gender: Male

Height: Short, appears tiny next to his Boss

Weight: Lithe build that appears almost to light.

Hair color: White

Eye color: Red

Skin color: Pale, as though he's never been out during the day

Significant Other: Qiang Di

Friends: He likes his Boss, tolerates the rest of the gang, despises Tian Mi, and is rather neutral on everyone else in the world.

Likes: The full moon, spirits, night time, being left alone with his Boss.

Dislikes: Most everything from the way he acts but most certainly day time, bright sun, and Tian Mi.

Favorite Food: Sweet Tea, candy, and other sugary things which goes against his grouchy outside look.

Favorite colors: Gray, white, and black

Abilities: Seems to be able to talk with spirits, Doctoring abilities, and martial arts.

Distinguishing Features: His hair is always hanging in his face in such a manner that his eyes are never seen, wears ragged robes all the time making him looked rather like a vagrant, and hes only really active at night so his skin is quite pale.

About: Seems to be Qiang Di's shadow when night falls, is always at his side then, serves loyally, and rarely talks back or really talks at all. During the day he rarely leaves the room e stays in within Tian Mi's bathhouse. When he does go out during the day he has to wear a think cloak to avoid direct contact with the sun which seems to make him ill.

Name: Tian Mi

Gender: Female

Height: Average

Weight: Average

Hair color: Black

Eye color: Black

Skin color: Pale peach

Significant Other: Qiang Di

Friends: Erm... she doesn't appear to be the sort to make friends though she has recently decided to tolerate and somewhat like Qiu Shui, likely due to having a history similar to the life the boy is leading presently.

Likes: Qiang Di, running her bath house, money, pretty clothing, and time alone with her Master.

Dislikes: Children, she hates them Xiulong especially. Po Zei, she hates him as well due to him being competition as Qiang Di's other lover.

Favorite Food: Spicy food.

Favorite colors: Gold and red.

Abilities: Bed Skills from when she used to work as a 'Woman of the Night', as well as very good pickpocketing abilities.

Distinguishing Features: She is well dressed, well endowed woman, who wears only nice things, nice jewelry, and keeps her long hair done up in various, fancy styles.

About: An ex-prostitute turned bathhouse Madame, she is a rather harsh woman at times who has a great dislike for Po Zei as well as the blue haired brat that has some into her bathhouse as well. Despite being female she has a great amount of power in Qiang Di's gang due to being one of his two lovers and as such none of them men dare to mess with her or go against her orders, the last person that did was given a rather severe beating for it by the Boss.

Things:

Knife: Something that is always hidden among his robes and has already tasted blood, its Xiulong preferred weapon.

Savings: All the coin he's made thus far is put in a pouch and hidden in his room all for the reason of buying Qiu Shui when he is able to take care of him.
PostPosted: Tue Jun 22, 2010 7:04 pm

Friends/Enemies/Rivals/Etc

Qiu Shui: Likely the most person in his life aside from his Master, the person that he is pushing himself hard to become powerful for. The main goal in Qiu Shui's life is becoming successor to Master Di's gang so that one day he can take Qiu Shui as his own. Qiu Shui is to Xiulong what Tian Mi is to Qiang Di.

Jin Feng: A tiger boy that he met in the market place, an accomplished thief, and someone that he wants to be at his side when he takes over the gang in the future. He would liken Jin Feng as his version of Po Zei but without the same closeness that Qiang Di has with Po Zei.
