"Demeter"
A poem I Brittany Pridemore (me) wrote after rescuing from craigslist
Brown like the earth
Eyes older than I know
I dub the Demeter
And watch you grow
Face so sunken and could see your ribs
Your previous owner told me lots of fibs
She could have told me the truth
I still would have taken you
The tumors, the biting, the too small home
I am not faking you.
Brown like the earth
Eyes older than I know
I dub the Demeter
And watch you grow
Your health was bad
Your temperment displeasure
You bit me however you could whenever
But I could see your heart
Demeter deserved a chance
To have a loving home
With patiance at last
Brown like the earth
Eyes older than I know
I dub the Demeter
And watch you grow
Over these past months I've learned so much
That she likes her food handed to her
And her tumors are not to touch
That toes are demons
Those socked are the worst
And proding fingers in her home
desearve to be brotworst
Brown like the Earth
Eyes older than I know
I dub the Demeter
And my have I grown
You may not always be nice
But your certainly not mean
I wrote this to let you know
Your precious to me.
