WWFG Films Presents:
Angel: An Era of ControversyDocumenting the journey of one of WWFG's most talked about superstars in it's 5 year history. It began at No Way Out when a then unknown superstar was given a once in a lifetime opportunity to compete for the World Heavyweight Undisputed Championship, against Randy Orton. Even though he fell short in his match, he pushed the top dog in WWFG to his absolute limits and nearly captured the title in his debut match.
Angel vs Randy Orton-WWFG No Way Out 2006-Angels Debut MatchFrom there Angel would go on to lock horns with a man who could best be classified as 'disturbed'. A man then known as Jay Blue Lightning but probably better known as GBL. The feud started when Angel
called out GBL when The Lotus was standing on top of the mountain as the World Heavyweight Champion. After brutalizing GBL and leaving him unconscious in the ring, he would meet GBL in a streetfight where the two fought until Angel was no longer able to stand. The beating GBL put on Angel forced him out of the spotlight and nothing was heard from Angel for over a year.
In early 2009...after almost 18 months of absence,
God's Gift to Wrestling returned to WWFG seeking retribution from GBL fro the vicious attack that put him out of action for so long. The two men locked horns in a match that proved to the entire roster, that Angel was here to make an impact. After his match with GBL however, WWFG management decided to try and repackage Angel and enter him into the tag division...teaming him with one Pink Avenger. The two got along like an angry pit bull and a tabby cat, as Angel turned his back on his partner and superkicked him in front of the entire WWFG Universe.
After his stent in the tag division was over, Angel needed something to reestablish himself as a true singles competitor. He was paired up with against a young upstart by the name of Matt Draven, in what was intended to be a fairly one sided match as Draven was on what some would call a major hot streak.
The match was one of Angels toughest tests in his career, as he had never had to compete against someone who was just as comfortable in the air as he was. Following his victory, Angel would continue to build himself up as a threat in the heavyweight division, while his newfound rival Matt Draven would upset then WWFG Undisputed Champion Harli and capture the title that Angel had been striving for his entire career. Following the match, Angel would lash out against Draven, calling him out as a 'Cookie Cutter Champion' in addition to calling him his 'spot holder'. Angel would then be given the opportunity to back up his words at Place your Bets 2010 where when the lights were on bright...Angel was once again disappointed as Draven
was able to retain.Special Features:
