Since I realize I haven't spoken about the blonde alchemist, and since I'm not sure if I should make another thread of it, since this place is called 'Ed lovers', I decide to finally speak about him.
Edward Elric, also known as the Full Metal Alchemist. Even though he doesn't seem like a person who would want to join the military, obviously he does so that he can research and find a way to revive his brother's body back. Of course at first he didn't realize the way he could do alchemy, but of course, later on in the series, he figures it out.
Of course, he works under the Flame Alchemist, or Colonel Roy Mustang. Its kind of sad to see how they have hatred against each other later on, but still, they do show some sympathy towards each other.
I think the military showed Edward a lot of lessons. He learned that from joining the military, that he had became a 'Dog of the Military'. He learns it the hard way too, seeing how he had to investigate weird things and even things he wouldn't do. The blonde learned how life isn't fair but that nothing could be done about it. In a way, the other bad side of reality hit him in the face before he realized it.
Its sad to see the things he loses and the things he goes through. Its sadly hard to speak about him because even myself have been through some of the things he has been through (this is serious, some of the things that happen to him did happen to me....I do not wish to speak it unless you want me to cry...) So in a way, I can really relate to Edward then most people would think, not just height wise ><
The manga is slightly different about him in a way. You can actually see more of a comedic side to him, yet you also still see the serious face he has. Though, he learns about Hughes death earlier than in the anime I believe. That and in the manga, he meets a boy name Ling, a Xing who came to Amestris in hopes of finding the philospher stone as well. Its kind of funny how these two quarrel, Ling is actually kind of like Russell with the idea of Ling being younger yet taller than Edward.
The anime though and even in the movie you can see how he really grows up. And I think thats one of the morals of the show is on how a person grows up through the tragedy and trials he's gone through. He learns probably the most lessons in the whole show and probably sees the world completely differently than some.
Edward Elric is probably one of the respected persons I've seen, especially when it comes to the losses and things he's been through. And yes, it is fun to watch his anger of his height, just not fun to see my anger ._.;
Full Metal Alchemist...Truly something I will remember for a long time if not the rest of my life. Hagane has probably the biggest guts than probably anyone in the series.

*claps* That is a very well-written essaypargraphsthingymabobber. o.o
The thing is, I'm very tall for my age since I used to drink milk. >>; But being freakishly tall does not have it's advantages. x.x I get hit in the head with stuff alot. ;o; And people make tall jokes. ; ; I'd actually rather be short because I like to fit into boxes. :3

He looks like he's tipsy when he turns and starts to walk? xD;; is that suitcase too heavy for him or what ._.; ? -shot-
