Ok here we go, another character not done yet. .__.;
This will be in white since he technically isn't in the anime at all, only in the manga.
Ling is known to be a Prince of Xing. Setting across the big desert (almost passing out when we first saw him) and making it to Amestris, he also is like Edward Elric who seeks for the philospher stone. Though to me the simple logical explanation of who he is like is quite simple:
Roy Mustang+ Greed+ Russell= Ling
He is like Roy Mustang for infact he wants to be a good ruler when is Emperor finally passes away. Kind of like how Roy wants to become a great Furher and make sure there are never any wars, Ling is the same only it is for his country, Xing. He is like Greed because Ling wants immortality from the stone, slightly how Greed wants complete immortality. So you can see how they slightly seek the same thing as well. The only reason why I say he's like Russell is because he's a year younger than Edward and is taller than him .__.;; It just reminded me of Russell.
Ling is a really good character in the manga and it always made me wonder why he wasn't in the anime. He has two comrades with him who are very supportive. Sadly I cannot remember there names I believe the girl is Ran Fan (I've seen there names they've given her so I'm not accurate, sorry.) and I believe the other is her grandfather. They are like ninjas you could say, train to protect the Prince, but also can act like assassians. Even at times you can see how much he cares for his bodyguards and still treats them well, even though they had to stay on the rooftop of a train, but they were fine with it. ^ ^; Ling has a nice sword with him as well. He is a very lazy but funny fellow. He loves food as well and tries to take anything in advantage to him. He had his quarrels with Edward so much and even now he does. Sometimes you can see how he and Edward are slightly alike and how they both think. And don't be fooled by his dopey ways, he is very intelligent. Figuring things out could be one of his stronger points.
SPOILER RIGHT HERE. This is about the newest Chapter 54 READ AT OWN RISK.
The weirdest thing they have given him in this role would be still following Edward until they met the man who looks like Hoeheniem. I can't tell to call him a supportive character or not, since in the anime its the main character seeing the main man. Anyways, he even thinks something is wrong with the mans body...Soon a drop of a philospher stone went in his cut, soon taking him. We find out that it was the drop of Greed. At the end we realize that Greed has taken Ling's body, fully? I'm not sure, for it stops there. Hopefully Ling won't give up THAT easily.

Ling is probably one of the best characters I've seen in the manga and it always made me wish they would have put him in the anime. If you do not know who Ling is, I suggest you find the FMA Manga and read it, I think it's worth the whole wait.
