Not entirely sure where this belongs, so forgive me if it's misplaced...
Anyway, I do a lot of reading. For real. Voodoo, however, I have not read a whole lot about. It intrigues me (in the sense that I'm strange and must know everything about anything religious/spiritual in some way, but not in the sense that I want to actually practice it), but I think the most I've read on it wasn't even an informative book, but a novel with a lot of Voodoo tied to it... I haven't even started searching for too much on the subject, but I wanted to ask if anyone had read anything interesting, or had any really cool sources to check out? : D I suppose this also includes information on Obeah, Santeria, rootwork, hoodoo... Tell me stuff I don't know? ^ ^;

More properly Vodou or Voudon, depending on what region's practice you're going with. You'll find better information searching with those spellings than with "Voodoo".

Voodoo and Hoodoo are both very interesting. I got into these practices when I went to Louisiana and actually met real, back wood practitioners. A person in this subject I always felt was interesting was Marie Laveau, she was one of the most prominent practitioner in the South :3
Okay...it seems I'm more interested in the history, sorry sweatdrop

Thank you, all of you! : D I honestly didn't know if I'd get replies on this one; I never run across conversation of it like I do other religions. This should make interesting reading material. ; o

I would have to say make a trip to New Orleans. Granted there will be a lot of tourist attractions involving Vodou, but I'm sure anyone with a good head on their shoulders will be able to sort the junk from the reality.
And if you have not seen The Skeleton Key, I would recomend it. I don't think it is too farfetched, but it is very interesting and a great movie.

Call Me Apple Voodoo and Hoodoo are both very interesting. I got into these practices when I went to Louisiana and actually met real, back wood practitioners. I was stupified! I laughed and was like "No s**t" XD
So I just had to share that. The author is Sherrilyn Kenyon. I love, love, love her.
