Maria Ross. In a way she is like Hawkeye. Both are strict and more military wise. Smart and take their orders. Though, the difference about Ross is probably how she's too much concern.
Even if she is a strict military person, she still show emotions, especially with the Elrics. I'm going to put the rest in spoilers, so no one will freak out on me ._.;
One of the things that is interesting is about the Lab 5. How when she steps in and holds Edward, the first word that pops out (at least in the Japanese Version) is 'Mom'. Also in the anime, I like how she is so concern of the Elrics, considering them as 'kids' still, which does make a good point in their story of growing up. The slap at the face to Edward was surely one thing that has made her noticed.
Another thing in the anime is how they make her have a crush on Edwards father ( I know eww xD ) Though its funny to see Danny Brosh's expression, crying funny wise and stuff. It makes people think they are most likely to be a couple, and I can see that.
Though, the sad thing is how she is portrayed in the manga. Since they made it seem like they knew it was Maria, she was excuse of killing Maes, since we know Envy was really the culprit. Its sad how she soon is in jail, breaks out of it from the help of Barry, then has to go to another country. Its really sad since Brosh is so sad about it at the end, even when he doesn't know of what really happened to her...
