So I've gotten into an argument with these two girls about school, the specifics aren't really necessary, but it has almost completely destroyed my mood, and now I'm finding it hard to pray, and my prayers are starting to feel very empty. I've been told in states like this I should just keep praying until it starts to feel right again, but it's really hard to do something when it feels completely useless.

well, that is good advice, but sometimes it doesn't work for everyone, simply because we are all of different states of mind and different levels of sanctity, although that could change as you grow spiritually, but right now you might benefit more from other methods, such as just going out and taking a walk, or doing something you enjoy like any hobby you might have(such as juggling) and by doing those things you might be able to clear your mind.
another thing to consider is, prayer is not just formal prayers(such as the rosary or divine mercy chaplet) prayer is also just talking to God, maybe if you just tell God what is on your mind and what is troubling you, He will take that stress from you and help you to get past it.
of course it is important to pray every day, but when you're feeling angry or troubled like that, it's very hard to think clearly, and it's just best to get past that in any way you can(within moral reason of course)
ok, hope this helps, take care.

thanks emerald, I'll try to do the walking thing (just have to watch out for the pit bulls) I told God about it and that helped a little. I think I need to see this argument through before I can actually feel completely better.
