Actually, with the way Lady A's handling things... I'm pretty okay with then decision of her being host.

The co-host, however, I feel we have the right to vote. Since Sabs' chosen the host, it feels a little better for us to choose our co-host as a representative.

Wow. I specifically said this was not attacking anyone. And If I wanted to "overthrow" Sabs's decision, I wouldn't even bother helping the ball. This is a platform for discussion about the Co-Host (since you've already been chosen for Main) as well. If you really want to act like this, I'm not sure how the ball can be "the best ball possible" if you hold so little regard for the people who help make it possible.

Um...actually. This was sort of bothering me as well.

See...I'm a huge advocate for democracy. I didn't really think that it was fair for one person to choose the next host because, I mean what if not everyone gets along? What if there are issues? And the person who was chosen how do you know it's not just favoritism over who is actually right for the job?

I mean I'm not saying the host that was chosen will do a bad job I just think that the people deserve the right to choose. Since it's everyone else that will be following this one person...It feels like a monarchy...and in my past experience these sorts of things don't end well.

But...that's just me. I think that people's opinions should be taken into consideration and then give them the right to choose.

I would appreciate it greatly if you would consider holding a vote for next host.

The system might be hard, but it seems a lot lest biased. (I'm not saying it is biased but that's the way it comes across to me) Because to me having the host choose, doesn't seem fair because the host becomes friends with people over the time, and that may influence the decision. And as I stated before, I think that it should be based on who EVERYONE thinks is best for the job.

I don't think may people were aware you picked a Co-Host. I being one of them. As for choosing based on vote, that's what I think a lot of people thought Sabs was going for with the nomination thread. It confused a lot of people and since I was fielding questions from newcomers, that's what prompted this thread to begin with.

I personally think we're beating a dead horse here. Angel is the host, and has chosen Queenie to be her co-host. So far they haven't given us any reason to think they would have been bad choices besides our own personal favoritism, and how is THAT fair? Did I nominate Angel? No. Is she doing a good job? Yes.

Right now I think this is just something that, as Angel has said, would be better served in PM form between the involved parties. What this is doing more than anything, in my opinion, is causing conflict. People are going to see this as an arena in which they can complain because the host they nominated wasn't chosen, and I don't think that's really how we want to start of this year.

No matter if we like it or not, this is the way things are. And as much as I love democracy, I have to agree with Angel in that I can see the problems in a vote for the host. It would become a popularity contest over anything else, and that's even less fair! If we really have a problem, for next year, what if we go with a system like this?

People nominate different hosts, and the past host chooses the top two who would do the best job. Then the guild votes on who the host will be. The problem with this idea is the fact that it's going to take a hell of a lot more time.

But yeah, I just don't think it's doing us any favors to be sitting here banging our heads against the wall. If we really have a problem with it and want to change the SYSTEM, then why not make this thread about the future way the host is chosen, instead of who we would have preferred?
