The local geocaching group (called INKY - Indiana/Kentucky) has dinner gatherings at various restaurants or parks on at least one Tuesday per month.
The big gathering happens at an annual October camp out at an old farm outside Bardstown, KY that belongs to an aunt of one of the members. We spend three days and two nights camping next to the lake and pavilion with a clear view of the sky with no light pollution other than that of the bonfire.
7th Annual October Fest @ Windy Rockhttp://coord.info/GC2C017Great food, some guitar and violin (or is it a fiddle) playing, night caching, games and more. There are several decent caches in nearby Bardstown. We usually have at least 35 tents with two or three people each, hammock tent or two plus a couple RVs and several people in local motels.
I always make sure to take the first day (Friday) off work so I can pack the van and head out early. That gives me time to hit some caches in a forest on the way there and do some in town before setting up the tent.
