I was at one of my best friend's birthday parties the other night. The party was at her friend's house with a bunch of people my friend had met while I was at college. Consequently, I have no idea whose toddler was at the party and still around and awake well after midnight. Anyway, in all the time the kid was awake and running around he kept trying to talk to people. I could hardly catch half of what the kid was trying to say though and worried one of these times I'd be nodding like I knew and agreed with what was going to wind up being some terrible, dangerous idea the kid got in his head. I hadn't thought about it lately since I've been doing well avoiding little kids, but I remembered now that I seem to usually find they are so quiet I can barely make out any of what they are saying. Do most people have this problem or is it just me? I don't think my hearing is bad, but I would think if this was a problem for other people in general more people would get their kids in the habit of speaking up.:/

They only have little mouths wink Nah, toddlers can be loud when they need to be. I mostly have trouble because they tend to mumble. Unless you know the kid already and you're used to them it can take some doing to interpret what they're tying to say.

Well it's good it's not just me having a problem, but then that leaves the mystery of how they haven't been conditioned to speak up yet by people around them. And that's the thing, I dunno whose kid it was because I didn't see the people come or go and I don't know a lot of these people well. D:

D: that stupid breeder. Not only did they not teach their child to properly talk they did not have the decency to remember they were there.

I meant that they parents were too busy partying to know their child was being a nuisance. God I hope they were there and that there was not some random toddler running around a college party.

Well, just to be factually accurate, it wasn't a college party. ninja It was still late August and my best friend doesn't go to college anyway and quite a few people there were in high school still and a few older people were there too, like the owner of the house.

Better? No. I'm just saying that it technically isn't a college party. It's kind of like how cholera or pneumonia, either way it sucks, but it still is incorrect to say somebody who died of pneumonia died of cholera.

My neighbors grand kids live with her, and *gasp, heresy* the 9 yr old girl isn't that bad... if you can tolerate long stories involving Hannah Montana, and how she's going to kill Bella if Edward marries her... but the 4 yr old boy showed up at my door out of the blue so he could yell "HI! Butthead! Bye!" and run away. My issue is that I live upstairs in my building and this kid should not be trying my really steep rusty stair case alone...my landlady might get sued for the price of a tetanus shot. It was kinda funny to see the look on my boyfriends face when he answered the door though.
Almost as funny as that day he brought us a stray kitten because he knew I like cats, and he figured I would keep it... he was right.
