BEHOLD!

"A man with a gun marched into the lobby of the Discovery Channel's building in Silver Spring this afternoon, and may have fired shots when he arrived. . . . Channel 9 News says this is a list of his demands, which City Paper hasn't been able to verify independently. If this is the gunman's demands, though, Discovery isn't likely to agree to them. Here's an excerpt:

All programs on Discovery Health-TLC must stop encouraging the birth of any more parasitic human infants and the false heroics behind those actions. In those programs' places, programs encouraging human sterilization and infertility must be pushed. All former pro-birth programs must now push in the direction of stopping human birth, not encouraging it... Develop shows that mention the Malthusian sciences about how food production leads to the overpopulation of the Human race. Talk about Evolution. Talk about Malthus and Darwin until it sinks into the stupid people's brains until they get it!!"

AHAHAHAHAHAHA! rofl Crazy guy storms a Discovery building to demand they stop showing all those shows about babies, kids, pregnant people, and reproduction in general and replace them instead with shows encouraging people not to have kids.

Oh, LOL is THAT what it was about? I've been of course reading the headlines but I didn't see what his beef was and figured he was a disgruntled former employee or something. I was about to make a joke that I was thinking of creating a hostage situation if they don't take the Duggars off the air of TLC soon, but I had no idea that was really the crazy guy's issue.

Wow, that gives people who agree with him a bad name doesn't it?

sad Ah crap he is one of us. Now we are all going to be treated as such. Granted I have to applaud his enthusiasm. Even if it gives us a bad name.

talk2hand besides it is easy to dismiss those programs a stupid. The only reason to keep the result of sex is so you do not look like an irresponsible deadbeat.

When somebody first told me to turn on the news and that there was some guy storming a Discovery channel building I too was asking what his beef was with Discovery, since my only problem with them is all their repulsive baby programs, only to then get an enormous laugh to hear that indeed, that WAS what the guy was upset over with them. rofl Seriously though, if you removed all the baby programs from TLC anymore, what would be left? Just the midget shows? I swear, anymore, all TLC is composed of is shows about babies and shows about midgets, and the more babies, the better, +2 points if it is a baby midget. lol No wonder they say it is unlikely Discovery would cave to the demands to remove the baby shows.

As for looking like an irresponsible deadbeat, easy solution to that is clandestine abortion if your female. If you're male and the female is set on keeping it, then you just adopt a cheerful lack of concern for what the little old town gossip ladies may say about you that involves the term "deadbeat." razz

rofl Well midgets are better than babies. At least then the channel would be a bit more tolerable.

I also consider suicide as a viable option for avoiding the deadbeat status. Then again have a ******** trophy might be a good way to attract the ladies... maybe... I don't know... I am glad this is likely an issue I will never have to deal with xp

Midgets are better than babies... unless the midget couple's sole aim in life is to have a baby and the show revolves around that. evil I hate you, The Little Couple. And Little People, Big World is finally going off the air. crying I like them. The more I think about it the more I want to "complain" to Discovery networks for the crap on TLC and Discovery Health.

I agree, midgets > babies. The problem is that they don't have enough programs about midgets to make up for how much they'd have to remove taking away the baby shows. If they tried to make more and more episodes of the midget shows, the midgets might get too sick of the constant filming schedules and then they'd revolt and they'd have no shows left at all. Then what would they do? surprised

That is why we need to find more midgets. Or find something else interesting to report about... after all it is called the health discovery channel. They could have more health related programming. Like proper nutrition or exercise kids or people in general.

Discovery health isn't as bad for lack of program variety as TLC. It just might be the final sign of the apocalypse if The Learning Chanel actually has something educational on it. So, nobody will let that happen. Time to find more midgets I guess?

Tis sad but true. Everyone knows that educational programming is no fun without something weird going on. eek I know what programming they need to have. xd how to make a baby. They need to teach children the proper techniques and stuff xp . After all children do not know how the sperm gets into the female. I would be ok with that kind of programming. At least the first part of the show would be interesting

They used to have a lot of shows about freaks. I would watch some freak reality shows. Even the self-made freaks would be interesting to watch, teaching their kids how to pound nails into their noses and stuff.

Anything beats multiples at this point. Multiples are not educational these days. They're a dime a dozen.

I also think the evidence is mounting from these reality TV shows that children are not good for one's relationships and the more of them the worse. I present to you what I found on AOL this morning, Exhibit A: Link The dad on WE show "Raising Sextuplets" has now gone batshit and threatened his family and then resisted arrest. I doubt anybody her has been lucky enough to not have heard about what happened to the parents on John and Kate Plus 8 too. There are a couple other of these multiple shows that have not had such things happen, but they're new, so they may be headed down this way yet. ninja As for the seeming exception to the rule, the most kids and an older show without this problem, I argue it only hasn't gone this way due to fear of supernatural smiting if they don't keep it up and keep it together. I rest my case, your honor!
