I seem to like a number of grunge influenced bands but I'm not really a fan of any 'pure' grunge bands like Soundgarden, Alice in Chains or Green River.

Grunge is awesome *puts fist in the air* Sound Garden,Nirvana,Pearl Jam, Mother Love Bone,and Mud Honey. It's all good.

OtherWorlds Well which bands do you like? You mean the one's with grunge influence? Well I guess it'll be The Melvins, a little Smashing Pumpkins and some others that aren't in my head right now.

im not really into the grunge genre. but i suppose im happy it happened when it did. it basically saved rock in the early and mid 90s. if not it would have been a basic rap genre. as much as i love old skool rap like nwa and public enemy, i must admit that one genre is just... bad. although many other genres came out of it like metal if im correct. personally i didnt study too much into it. but back onto the topic at hand, i accually cant stand most of the grunge bands that were around. esspecially nirvana. it seemed like kobain was only famous based off of his openness of drugs and that he was hot. which is no better than sid vicious... who ironically died of his girl... just like kobain

Metal came out waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy before grunge, even before punk and hardcore. I'm not that knowledgeable on Metal but I do know that Black Sabbath formed around the late 60s.
And yes, Jello did vocals in the Melvins 'Never Breath What You Can't See' Album.

Punk was out in the early 70s with Clash and Ramones, and such. Metal was around the same time I believe. So it isn't "Waaaaaaaaay" before Punk as much as Grunge. XD
And yeah, I liek Grunge.

He also did a few albums fronting The Melvins, I believe they were known as "The Jelvins". That's what I always call them anyways.
