I was so hopeful today when the bill to repeal don't ask don't tell made it to the Senate floor today... only to have those hopes dashed when the bill failed to pass... by only 4 votes. crying

Yeah, I don't get why they wouldn't pass it. I mean, really? If they hate us so much, you'd think that (according to their line of thinking) they would WANT gays in the military on the off chance that they could somehow kill us all off through warfare. Not that it would happen, but still. It's not right that you have to hide who you are just to be able to die for a country that hates who you are. It's twisted & downright messed up! scream

I'm glad someone else understands how I feel about this. I tried talking to my friends about it, even the gay ones, and they were just like "yeah, so what?". It left me so angry...

If you want a discussion on this, try reposting it in this guild: The LGBT Guild. It's one of my other LGBT guilds that I'm a member of, and it's the most active one I've found so far in relation to the number of members it has.
