Recently I read a newspaper article on gun rights. Gun activists are making it a priority to get a law passed that makes it so that it is no longer required to have a permit in order to carry a concealed weapon in public.
What do you guys think about this?

eek Thats really scary!! If anyone could just carry a gun around in public, then its possible that the crime rate would soar!

Yes, well as far as I'm concerned the story has two sides:
People who want to carry guns in case of a gang attack.
People who don't want people to carry guns due to the increase in risk to the public.
In my opinion, guns and weapons in general wouldn't be a problem if no one made them anymore. Or if no one made the more dangerous guns anymore (Shotguns, Assault Rifles, ect) aside from the military, and even then they could still make less.
It's the same with nuclear weapons, decrease the amount of nuclear weapons and their total danger decreases. Decrease it enough and we don't have to worry as much, about nuclear annihilation.

As lovely as that would be to stop making guns and nuclear weapons, the human race probably won't be doing that any time soon. If we were to rid of guns and nuclear weapons we would have to find a way to elimanate war, because thats the main reason guns and nuclear weapons are produced.

Yes, but how are we going to fight wars if no one has any weapons to fight with? Or at least very few. lol

Mmhm. But its not like you can just magically collect all the weapons in the world. Humans are tricky creatures and tend to hide things that they dont want taken away. And some people are really smart and some may know how to make their own homemade guns, just like some people know how to make homemade bombs. It would be easier to get people to agree that guns and weapons should be taken away.

Hahaha, either way, it's the same. Limit the amount of weapons. The only difference is the means.

Vee, you have a terrible habit of conforming to other people's opinions. Listen to what other people say, but keep your own views and work on them as an individual. (not as a group, like democrat or republican)

Well i wasnt saying i completely agree with your opinion. I was just agreeing on a certain part of it. Even democrats and republicans agree on some things sometimes.

Yes, but I think that just going with republicans or just going with the democrats is very limiting.
The whole point of this governmental system is to give the power to the people, but if the people as individuals aren't heard then the purpose behind equal rights is lost. The majority (be it republican or democrat) ends up getting the vote when a minority fails to speak out. Fails to make a decision for itself, and not for a higher group.
