Is anyone else worried about all these invasions of our privacy? They say that we don't care about privacy because we put so much about our lives on facebook. But does that give people the right to know everything about a person by a click? Letting people know what you want them to know is one thing...gathering information about them without them knowing is violating our rights.
And I quote from the bill of rights: Amendment IV The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
This right gets abused so much lately. The excuses are: That social networking profiles and archives do not count as papers. That looking a person up on the internet or putting what a person looks up into an archive on the internet doesn't count as a threat to the security of said person. That we are 'giving up' our right to privacy by joining these internet sites like gaia, facebook, yahoo, myyearbook, ect.
Tell me, do any of you want to live in a world where your right to privacy no longer exists? Do any of you think it is right that the government is taking away our rights in return for safety?
Tell me your opinions.

I'm more worried about everyone else getting access to my information than the government. Because of how technology is, random people can record you at any given moment and then post the recordings online for the world to see. A person with enough know how can get past your privacy settings and find out anything about yourself that you've typed into the computer. What concerns me the most is how individuals abuse technology to violate the privacy of others. It's harmful.
I also don't like entering information into boxes, because my computer remembers that, and anyone sneaky and skilled enough can go in and get that info. I don't know how to stop my computer from remembering things I didn't ask it to remember. Lately, I've been wanting to learn how to better secure my private information, because otherwise strangers have more control over it than I do, and that just makes me feel violated.

I am talking about both the government invading your privacy and other people.
In our society, we can get fired from our job if we don't add our bosses on facebook or if we add pictures from a past vacation during a sick or injury leave.
In my opinion, bosses asking for an employee's facebook account should be considered the same as bosses asking for permission to spy on you. I consider it unconstitutional when they fire you for not adding them because we have a right to "be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures..." Bosses should not be able to fire someone just because the employee doesn't want to add them.
Then there are the rapist, the con artists, the serial killers who wander around online looking for their next targets...wouldn't want them snooping around or hacking into your account...
