From the "indulgent crap" area of my personal library.... I've recently read (that is, finally got around to reading) "Soulless", the first in the steampunky comedy-of-manners Victorian urban fantasy series "The Parasol Protectorate", by one Gail Carriger.
I was told by a fan of the series that it was crap. And she was right. It is crap, but crap of the sort that you find delicious and can forgive because of the times it makes you laugh and the parts with the totally sexy Scottish werewolf. Oh my, yes. I'm now keen for the next in the series.
Has anyone else dabbled in this series, or read something similar?
