Okay, that last post was more in denial. Logically, I think any affections toward Mal were in a father-daughter relationships. Similar to Kaylee and Mal.

It was supposed to be a romantic moment, but not in a marriage sense. It is romanticized because its the end of the movie and a start of a new life for them. It shows that she looks up to Mal, and that they can now have real relationship, without her being all creepy and, thus the not mind-reading 3nodding

I don't think River and Mal would happen. Neither do I think that River and Jayne could happen. After I showed the movie to a bunch of people, one of my friends thinks that Mal loves River. I told her that it was like a family, not romantic. I also reminded her of Inara. But whatever...

Mal pretects his crew, and river knows he wold never really leave her, or Simon. however much Jayne wishes he would

It doesn't really seem like there's alot of, if any, romantic feelings between Mal and River. But Mal/River is one of my favorite pairings. Heeeee. -shrugs-
