Forgive me if I seem out of line, but...
Where's the city?
This looks more like a map of a continent. A continent with no large cities, or even small towns. I see forests, mountain ranges, lakes, and rivers. It's easy enough to imagine some of these places fitting in to the image provided, but it doesn't even go along with the descriptions we've been given. Example; the Mercenary Camp. That was on the far edge of the city. Here, it's right smack dab in the middle.
Also, it's pretty hard to read. Maybe a larger image is called for? That'd make it easier.

^3^ Not out of line at all. This is a test image, I hadn't relized where placed were specifically located, i will reserch more into that, and get Faction Leaders Opinions of things, I do relize the font and coloring of the words make it a bit hard to read. > if only i could fade the image < lol. as for the image of the city, this map is basically used for a large overveiw to view the whole place itself. the threads that create the dfferant parts of the city, most are imaged with a closer veiw of the acctual city, though this map is a >outline< of the large city if you will. But i am always up for more comments and questions, i will get started on the changes right away, nothing is ever perfect xD

Awesome, a place I'm finally not told I'm overreacting for trying to offer critique.
Actually, if the text was even just more thick, that could help. Bold it.
When reading about the different places in this city, I sort of imagined it like a mid evil style "palace town" (I have no idea what the actual name is, if there is one). Basically, walls surround the entire city, so that there's one great big archway for the entrance, probably with the marketplace right by it so that travelers can find a place to eat, sleep, and drink easily enough after arriving. There were walls mentioned, I think in the description for the Mercenary Camp. I remember it said it was outside the city walls. I figure the Palace itself would be decently guarded, probably with some extra walls around it as well, considering what a violent place this is. If you've ever played Final Fantasy 9, a really good example of what I'm trying to talk about would be the city of Lindblum.
If I were any decent artist, I would offer trying to draw it myself. As it is, my skills lie a bit more in the 3D modeling field, instead of 2D drawings. You'd be surprised at how often the two tend to overlap, though. I was.

I agree, id say use the image of like 15th century London or Paris and then label that. 'Cuz i also immagined it as like a simple European capitol or something. With the castle in the middle, then theieves guild on the outer most layers of walls. Merc's guild just outside. Wolves den in a forest area that was off to one side. With a view of a castle/mansion off in the distant mountains being the vamps hideout. Hells s**t would be out of site at the edge of a mountain riddled with caves. What am i forgetting?
also why is the palace on a outskirts island?

lol. I didn't read all of the above posts...because right now I am lazy. Sew me. However, From what I read, a City location should be placed and then We can rearrange Faction areas. What you could do also is make the Map bigger, that way the letters can be seen, or you can bold them as well.

Hehe no one worry i will try fixing it, though for now, maybe everyone who wants to help, could find a background pic for the map like photo, and we can all vote on which one would best sute what we are all looking for. > and yes mercy are you offering your hand in marraige to mwah...< -winkwink- lol . And i am used to postive critisism, it helps me do better and critque which that i have missed xD so thank you all for ya'll opinions, i really apriciate it, and i am feeling much better now, so i will try working on it xD and the current image of it now, i can move words around, and change the font, or whatever to make it better, lol. but its really just the outline of what the large city is....back in those days(which i figure since we have a palace, what better time zone than back in the old days when palaces were still big) they never had road maps, only over large veiw of what they thought the city would look like lol. but it can always change lol.

I'm a fair hand at drawing -cough cough- Not modest at all either. Any who. I could draw you a map too, to save the trouble of finding a picture. If you tell me where everything is supposed to be i can def draw something up.
(Even if you yer self sketched somethin i could take that and transform it into something else.)
Shouldn't be too hard to do. and besides. i'm bored and want to draw something biggrin

from the sounds of it, if I may, The city sounds very like another city. Of Which a map would look like this :  Just a Suggestion It's what I have been picturing the city like anyway.
