It's never a good day for those who have been alone for nearly an entire thousand years. Always worsening in sheer solitude, although for one man in particular, his will to live had long-since left him. He could not seem to die, however, as his fate held him intact even through his worst pains and sufferings. Alone in the worlds, always wanting nothing more than peace to them. Try as he might, however, Arannis Desrani, foretold Lone Peacemaker, would someday fail. Strangely, though, even he wondered if it would not be better for him that he would. Character Name: Arannis Desrani Race: Celestial (Divine. Ask if you have to, but it's a race I created with a whole lot of detail that I don't feel like going into right now.) Age: 7631 Skills, Abilities, etc.: Gifted in all forms of magic regarding the unconventional element of Light. Specializes in offensive, although he carries several healing talents as well. (ogod, another Demoness! Run away! Kidding.)
Arannis wandered rather aimlessly through the woods, looking for nothing, hoping for anything to give him the peace he had fought to bring about for millenia, without end, without any sign of success.
"Is there even any hope left in the worlds? What have I done, truly?"
The questions went on. Any capable of hearing the Celestial's words could easily discern his hopeless outlook on life as a whole.

(haha)
Ash let her arrow fly, it finding it's target flawlessly. The small buck dropped on the path in the forest soundlessly and the Demoness dropped from her place in the branches to retrieve her arrow. She wiped a spot of blood from the raven feather fletching before stowing it in her quiver and teleporting the deer to her makeshift home in a cave. She let out a three note song of thanks to the sky.

Something caught Arannis' attention. A sudden drop in the life around him, as well as an essence that he hadn't known in longer than he cared to remember. It was painful enough having to recall the past few times this had been felt, but it wasn't the same.
"What could possibly be happening that brings her memory back to me? What more could possibly have gone wrong?"
He wasn't about to give it up to circumstance, however. He slowly traced the origins of the aura he had picked up on, and began to follow it, until he found himself in her general vicinity. He paused, leaning against a tree.
"A Demoness, am I correct? I believe you might... know me, to some extent."

Ash whirled around, her red hair glinting like fire in the sunlight. Her violet eyes searched Arannis' as she held the bowstring steady. "Who are you?" She demanded in a slightly harsh tone.

Arannis made no movement, no sign of hostility in the least.
"Arannis Desrani. If what I have heard holds true, I believe there was one before you that knew me. If I recall, memory passes, does it not?"
He sighed, remembering fully a large majority of the events that had transpired in his past with one Demoness in particular. The memory did not serve him well.
"I realize there are likely to be questions. Ask what you will; I have nothing to hide."

Ash chuckled and lowered her bow. "So it is you," She brushed her hair away from her eyes before continuing. "Yes, Liallia has passed on your legend, although I never would havethought to be meeting you. Liallia is well, enough. Her sister has been...well let's just say that her health is not the best,"

(Crapola! I forgot the name.)
Arannis bowed his head respectfully.
"I see I am strangely well-remembered. However, I am rather certain she passed along that I never once cared for my own well-being. What has happened? Is there anything I can do?"
He looked up, a faint glint of hope in his otherwise perpetually saddened eyes.

"Ah yes, your selflessness...unfortunatly nothing can be done, see she has become one of us even though her soul was completely human," Ash said completely unhooking her arrow from her bow. "It induces insanity and uncontrollable visions of the future,"

"No..."
Arannis stood away from the tree.
"Can you honestly submit her to this? I know well enough that the Demoness' race is not as inherently evil as some might suppose, I know how resourceful you are."
He took a few steps forward.
"I don't even know your name, but I know this much. The mistakes I'd made in the past may be unforgiven by some, but in no way does this affect who I am in truth. You know full well that even when there is nothing that can be done, I will try. This is no exception."

"She is happy enough, just living with her sister in paradise. I can assure you that this was nothing more than an accident. If there was a way..." Ash said this quietly before looking to the ground, tears slowly finding their way into her eyes. "Watching her deliver a prophecy and all the hate it produces...not even Liallia wanted that when she Lapsed in concentration as her sister tried to kill her,"

Arannis blinked in confusion. Even during their most hateful moments, he knew that what was held remained true, regardless of how small it might have seemed. He always cared, although he wasn't about to judge anyone for what they had shown him.
"I never meant to cause her pain. I never meant for so many things that seemed to be centered around me. The reality of my truth as the Lone Peacemaker has been far from kind to me, as I'm sure you're aware. It's just that... I wonder if anything I've done has truly brought peace anywhere. Everything seems to remain unchanged throughout my efforts. Even Chaos and the surrounding realms have fallen into darkness again. Even..."
He paused for a moment, biting his lip in memory.
"...Even Celestia. I never told her the full truth. In one day's worth of time, it was entirely destroyed. Now it seems as a haven for creatures darker than should have ever been known in my home. I will never forgive myself for so many failures. Often I wonder if it would have been better if I'd never come."

Ash sighed. "There is no way of knowing either way so why dwell on it?" Her anger slightly flared causing a single spark to fly off her hair. "Liallia has never hated you, actually she thinks of you as a positive addition to her long life. Yes, perhaps she hated to lose you but I would say she has moved on nicely," She said after a moment, a small laugh escaping her lips. She thought of John the were-dragon and Liallia, especially at their first dinner together. It was almost too much to handle, his dangerous outlook and her over protectiveness of him.

"I suppose you're right. Too long, I've looked to the past for hope that quite often was never there. Still, I can't help but feel the guilt of my actions. I didn't mean to bring up such a painful subject, truly."
Arannis lifted a hand to his chest, remembering several events that could easily end his life at no warning whatsoever, however suppressed the majority might be. A slight feeling about his heart reminded him of one such condition to his living. He shuddered slightly, but did his best to hide it. He looked back to Ash.
"May I ask your name?"
