Ladi ducked through the window, the only entrance to the small attic room that she called home. Or "The Pits," really. There was a bed, a small bathroom and a small kitchenette. All around the room were bookshelves, desks, and parts. Ladi pushed a desk aside to reveal a trapdoor. She dumped the contents of the bag into the depths beneath the trapdoor. Ladi then closed the door, pushed the desk back on it, and went to sleep.

Docrises sat in the shadows above Ladi, or better to say he was the shadows above the sleeping Ladi. He watched her wracking his brain for where he had seen her before. He could smell it on her though, she worshiped- no followed- yes followed- the path of chaos. He didn't know why that seemed more appropriate- but it did. "you- yes you- are you- oh you are! i remember you- free me- wish- yes- i remember" Only his violet eyes bright with madness and his white teeth could be seen.

The half-asleep Ladi threw a pillow in the general direction the voice came from. Next came the finger, in the same direction of course."Come back at nine," Ladi grumbled. Ladi was a nocturnal animal, and she hated it when people interfered with her sleep.

He laughed "i wouldn't be here if it wasn't after dark- now get up. I can only be out for another two hours" he said dropping from the ceiling onto her bed. because his hair seemed to cling to the darkness it looked like he was a black drop of water slowly falling off the ceiling. He sat on the edge of her bed, his entire body cloaked in the darkness. "you live in such a hovel! those jewels you stole- priceless priceless- where more then enough to buy you a large house" his hair seemed to be spreading across and up Ladi's bed.

"People would get suspicious," Ladi said, not even bothering to open her eyes. She sighed and rolled out of the bed and onto the floor with crash. She grumbled some more about timing and sleep before standing up. Her black hair was a mess, and she look very annoyed. She straightened her shirt before getting herself some coffee. She held an extra mug out to Docrises.

He took it and looked inside. "interesting..." he said walking around. He walked to her desk. "open space- under here" he said tapping the desk. "inventions! Thief- inventor- pretty lady- what else?" he asked whirling around. His appearance was visible when light struck it, and it shifted constantly- always beautiful.

"Pretty lady. . . . .? " Ladi echoed, slightly confused. She shook her head, as if to shake any thoughts out of her head. She took a sip from the mug, and made a face."Ugh, black coffee. Too bitter. But its good for waking me up. ,"

The cup of coffee was gone from his hands. "yes yes..." he pushed the table aside with a foot. "so lets see what you got" he slid through the floor. "oooh interesting" his voice was heard clearly even though he was under the floor.

"OI OI OI, YOU BREAK IT, YOU BUY IT! " Ladi shouted at him. She was slightly exasperated. And wondering why the hell he was in her house. She kicked the door closed, left the room and changed out of her pyjamas. She then came back into the room, opened the door again, and let him out."Why the hell are you here, anyway?"

He was rummaging through her treasure cove. "ive been ordered to find you... and find out what you have- invented- stolen- found- made- yeah" he was going through it pretty fast throwing stuff over his shoulder.

"And why is that? " Ladi asked, still curious. She tinkered with one of the small clockwork toys on a desk. She moved from the toys to one of the many books.Mythology. . . .Mythology. . . . .Mythology. . . .AH! Here it is! Ladi thought as she ran her hands along the bookshelves, checking the books for what she wanted. When she did find the one she was looking for, she used one finger to tip the book over sideways, then take it from the shelf.

"boring..." he said from over her shoulder. "mythology..." he said, his smoke like hair tendrils slowly wrapped around Ladi's feet and over her shoulder. "interesting... what are you looking for?" he asked, he was close enough she could feel his breath on her ear.

Ladi turned the book over in her hands. Over and over, over and over. She looked down at it, somewhat lost in thought. "Well, I was thinking about how gods die. What I've been thinking is that when no one believes in them any more, the just kind of fade away. Say, for example, if I stopped believing in you, you would probably fade from existence, only to be remembered in myths and legends. . .

Docrises laughed, pure insanity was behind the laugh. "oh you are an interesting one. You know that the entire royal family KNOWS i exist... its not a matter of believing. They know, you know, many know." he laughed harder. "and to think you truly believe such a silly idea. Even better! you believe your the last to worship me" He knew it was the wrong word to use worship, but he used it anyway. "come now Ladi, is this all you have invented?" he said patting her on the left a** cheek to turn her around.

Ladi tossed the book over her shoulder at him. She closed her eyes and picked out another book with a sigh."I never said I was the only one to believe you exist. Frankly, I know you exist. It ain't my imagination that just patted my a**. Besides, that was not what I meant. You know perfectly well what I meant, and yet you twisted it the wrong direction."
