 Final Fantasy is an RPG The only one that I need It's the RPG for me Final Fantasy is all that I play All other games are lame It puts them all to shame I only play games that are popular I only buy the games the magazines tell me to buy That way I know I get good games for sure I may have a shallow mind But you can kiss my behind Final Fantasy; it consumes my life And that is probably why I'll never have a wife Final Fantasy has awesome music And that is probably why it Always gets remixed I always buy the soundtrack to each game Oh it is the only thing that I will listen to Oh sure one day it may drive me insane You may think that I'm a fool Well I'm here to say "Screw you!" Starring at the ocean always seemed to calm her, to set her mind at ease.
Her whole life she had been trainning for this, and now, she finally had it, her first summons...
Her first Aeon.
Yuna sighed, watching the waves crash against the shoreline. The Isle of Besaid was a quiet place, a place untouched by evil... well... most of the time.
In truth, she didn't know what lay ahead. No one could predict the future. But now she had a weapon to fight the evil rising in the world.
The rumours which had reached Besaid were enough to frightened the people into staying on their small island.
But not Yuna... it simply made her more determined...

With a crash, shaking the ground beneath his feet, the tree split into two halves, a nice clean cut running down it's length.
It had been done by a katana... a very VERY long katana.
Leaves littered the ground of the forest, but no one would know.
No... no one in the nearby village had any idea of the evil which lurked at it's boarders. None would wonder about the sound, for none would hear it.
Word would never reach the mainland that a darkness had arisen, that such a darkness had returned to Gaia.
Sephiroth smirked, shouldering his sword.
All in good time...

"Now, now," she hushed gently, "Calm down. Speak slowly. I can hardly hear you here!"
Aeris bit her lip, moving lithely through the slums, taking the all too familiar path to the church. For whatever reason, she knew that things were at work that were out of her hands, and over her head. It was an illusive feeling, almost haunting, but while she was nervous, she was also eerily calm. What would the next few months hold?? Or even tomorrow?
She closed the doors behind her, the other voices fading away into the backround. Finally. Some peace and quiet..!
Naturally, she went straight to work in her gardens, and went to work, deciphering the messages of Gaia.
On the opposite side of the world, Yuffie was training in the forests as well----moreso, on the boys of the village who had scorned her earlier. Bastards! When paired with the stuck-up, foreign tourists, there was only one answer to solve this problem:
Rob them blind.
She waited patiently with all the intensity of a cat, waiting for them to step into her carefully planned, constructed, and prepared trap. Just a few more steps for each of them....

Of course, little did Yuffie know, that a monster was heading her way.
A monster, not of it's own agenda, but with the agenda of another.
A monster bent on terrorizing all in it's path...
Jumping from the bushes, the monster lands directly in front of Yuffie.

Yuffie almost restrained a yelp----almost. What the hell was THIS thing?! Either way, looked like it might....
.....Oddly have money on it?
While she wondered what use the thing might have for currency, she didn't care. It'd be hers now.

"Penny for your thoughts, Yuna," said a voice behind the summenor. Rikku came skipping up to her friend, a characteristic smile on her face.
She liked the peacefulness of the Island and more importantly liked shareing it with Yuna. Of course, there were also the fact that Rikku's deep pockets got lined very nicely on trips such as these. Well, adventuring did drain one's coffers quite a bit.
She too, had heard the rumors floating around, and Rikku ahd a hunch that Yuna was goign to go off on another adventure quest. And when that happened, the theif was planning on following her every step of the way.

Yuna looked up at Rikku with a smile, "Just thinking..." she replied, "About this and that. Nothing really important."
The summoner was silent for a few moments, reveling in the sea breeze as it blew her brown bangs into her eyes.
"Actually, I was thinking of invetigating the rumors, you know, the ones that came in from the trading ship out of Luca. There have been lots of fiend attack recently, but... I mean, I DID bring the Calm, but don't you think it's a bit too soon for SIN to reappear, not only that, but I thought we defeated SIN once and for all? It must be something else entirely that's causing the panic."

"Yeah, I was thinking you were thinking soemthing like that," said the blonde with a grin, "You know me, Yuna. I'll follow you to the ends of the Earth.
"I do agree with you that the rumors are odd. I don't think it's SIN, either," said Rikku, hsking her head, "And to be frank I really don't want to see him ever again. No, you're definatly right, if there's somethign sinister out ther, it's something new, something different."
Another grin foudn it's was to Rikku's face, 'You just can't seem to stay outta toruble. Just jump head first into another adventure, huh?"

Yuna laughed before standing, brushing the sand off the ends of her kimono like dress. "No, I guess I can't."
Another reason why she wanted to investigate though... was a bit more personal.
She wanted to see HIM again. To see if he was still out there, somewhere...
"Come on, we should go pack. The ship to Luca leaves in the morning."

"M'kay," said Rikku brightly, "My, my you;re awefuly anxious about this whole thing, aren't you. So what were you going to do If I hadn't found you here toady, huh? Leave me on this island all by myself."
She crossed her arms in front of her chest and made a fake poust with her face. The impish grin, however, somehow spoiled the effect.

"What do you mean 'not ready?'" Rikku grinned, "Get to kill monsters, chase after you, find me some wicked good treasure and save teh world. What could be better?
"Besides," she added cheerfully, "This place is nice but it doesn't give a lot of options for someone of my..talents..if you know what I'm saying. Same old thing just gets awefully boring."

Yuna smiled, "Then I guess it's a good thing we're leaving tomorrow. I wouldn't want your talents to get rusty, Rikku."
They began to walk back toward the village. Nestled in the middle of the island, the village was quaint, with about half a dozen homes and the temple of Besaid. Some of the homes doubled as the inn or various shops.
However, before they made it even to the bridge near the waterfall, two Grunts fell from the trees above them, landing in the girl's path.
