Mollies and Swordtails come in many differnt colors, and two types of tail shapes: normal and Lyretail. Mollies also come in a Balloon variety, where deformed fish are bred for the purpous of making money. These fish have shortened life spans, and have difficulty swimming. Due to their shortened backs, and large stomachs, they often get out competed for food, and grow week and thin. Other fish now also come in a Balloon variety. I would advise not buying any Balloon fish.

Tank Size~
Mollies and Swordtails are active fish. They require atleast 20 gallons, and strangly, prefere taller tanks. I personally wouldnt go less then 30 gallons, because these guys are alittle nuts, and poop alot, and can get up to four inches long, and possibly even larger.
Feeding~
It seems that Mollies and Swordtails eat just about anything (thats a livebearer for you lol), but remember to mix it up often. Fish get bored with the same stuff.
Tank Mates~
Mollies and Swords tend to be very territorial, espectially the males, so it may be best to either keep one, or 5 or more, of these fish together, to minimize, or atleast even out the aggression. Either keep them in a species only tank, or get fish that can tollerate their behaviors. It may even be best to keep them as the largest fish in the tank.
Mollies are also brackish water fish. Be sure to get other fish that can handle 1 teaspoon of aquarium salt for every 5 gallons of water.
*Note* Mollies do not have to be kept as brackish, but it is recomended.
Decor~
Since they are from Central America, they would most likely like a tank with some driftwood, and every fish likes plants. Although, these guys dont really seem to mind our tacky decor either.... lol
Alright guys! This is all I know about Mollies and Swordtails, so its you job to chime in! If you know something (or think some of my something's are wrong), post away!
